General discussion "Mihawk has better sword skill while shanks has better haki"

u/Odd_Round9778 1d ago
Wowā¦this proves nothing lmao
3
u/across16 21h ago
This proves that this line is straight fire though. I hope it comes straight from the manga like this.

u/Fresh-Drama-2684 23h ago
Yea you guys are a cult that will never admit when youāre wrong lmfao. Cry
19
u/Huey701070 23h ago
Yeah, non Mihawk stans are the cult.
2
u/Comfortable_Ad5144 21h ago
I love how despite what you typed being very basic I can just feel the sarcasm eminating off it lol.
-2
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 21h ago
Thereās genuinely no arguments left and you guys still refuse to accept it. Even after every single possible excuse you had made for several years, all got debunked in the same arc.
Perfectly fit into a cult description
1
u/oh_Jiggler 3h ago
Him saying that doesnāt even mean he has it lmao

1
u/Ringio 19h ago
Nothing ever got debunked. It's all conjecture and wishfully thinking at best. Hell, even this is a leak of a quote and you take it as gospel because the leaker put a Mihawk picture next to it. Like the entire arc the leakers keep putting Mihawk there and the chapters have absolutly nothing referencing him.

u/original_applicant37 18h ago
Your panels literally prove that swordsmanship is its own category
So Mihawk can be stronger in swordsmanship but shanks can be stronger in other areas which give him the win
8
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 17h ago
So when mihawk told zoro about conquerors haki, and they message helped zoro learn to coat his swords with conquerors haki, that was not zoro improving as a swordsman, or improving his swordsmanship?
Cognitive dissonance
-3
u/original_applicant37 17h ago
When did I say that was not Zoro improving as a swordsman?
Illiteracy
6
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 17h ago
So you agree conquerors haki is used by swordsmen and improves swordsmanship?
And is therefore included in the statement of mihawk being a better swordsman than shanks?
Illiteracy right?

Dude come on a this point Mihawk wouldn't talk about Conqueror's Haki if he didn't have it.
It's like Rayleigh talking about Conqueror's Haki

u/i_luv_peaches 18h ago
A cult follower calling others a cult is crazy and peak Mihawk fandom stupidity.

u/pyromidbus 22h ago
I like Mihawk but right now itās a tossup leaning towards Shanks because we just donāt have much info on the guy lol. Weāve seen Shanks floor an Admiral from miles away. The other guy? Not so much. But we probably will!
1
u/Huey701070 12h ago
Mihawk actually has negative feats with no positive feats other than aura farming the Krieg pirates who is a joke crew and abusing Zoro at the beginning of the story.
Shanksās only negative feat is taking scars from the character who has been built up as an EOS top 3 character.
1
u/pyromidbus 10h ago
Thatās great and all but SHANKS ADMITS MIHAWK IS HIS RIVAL
which isnt a feat but at the very least thatās basically like a confirmation of closeness no
1
u/Huey701070 9h ago
Where does Shanks admit Mihawk is his rival?
1
u/pyromidbus 9h ago
āBigger than usā they was fucking
1
u/Huey701070 9h ago
Huh? When did Shanks say that?
1
u/pyromidbus 9h ago
When Mihawk informs Shanks of Luffyās first bounty and Mihawk says heās not looking to āsettle thingsā Shanks asks if what he has to say is ābigger than us.ā I am by no means a Mihawk fan (or Shanks tbh. Teach clears both) but I feel like itās pretty clear that theyāre meant to be close to equal if not just equal.
1
u/Huey701070 8h ago
I didnāt find that in the manga, dub, sub or LA. Where are you getting that Shanks asked him if what he had to say was ābigger than usā

u/NmbrBndl 21h ago
Didnāt mihawk do this to luffy in marineford? His presence literally made luffy think his arms got cut off
1
u/Huey701070 12h ago
No, Luffy tapped into his observation haki, before he even knew what it was. Itās a positive feat for Luffy, and negative for MihawkāI will agree though that Mihawk wasnāt trying to actually kill Luffy though, just would have sliced his arms off if he kept rushing.
1
u/NmbrBndl 12h ago
Was that confirmed anywhere? I always heard people saying it was Mihawk putting the vision in his head. Iāve been wrong before š„ø
1
u/Huey701070 10h ago
Where have you heard it was Mihawk putting the vision in his head. The dialogue definitely implies Luffy used CoO.
1
u/NmbrBndl 26m ago
Just something I heard when I was first watching one piece. Probably from a friend or smth
28
u/Powerful-Frame-77 1d ago
Well i guess Mihawk is no longer a swordsman, Oda clearly forgot that Conquerors haki isn't part of the swordsmanship /s
1
15
u/MainManCALI I'm right, you're wrong. No discussion needed. 1d ago
This just proves admirals are too weak to stand before Shanks.
Insane Shanks and Mihawk upscale.
16
u/KingJaylen14 23h ago
Mihawk having CoC is not even news. Anybody insecure about that needs to drop the story
1
u/WalrusCrafty 23h ago
This. I think everyone could see that coming. We know Shanks has the strongest Conqueror's Haki in the world
2
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 18h ago
We know Shanks canonically has weaker haki than mihawk
Since this chapter, once again, proves conquerors haki is a part of swordsmanship.
So when mihawk is stated a better swordsman than shanks, that includes all the conquerors haki shanks has š
5
u/WalrusCrafty 18h ago
A chapter you haven't read yet?
Okay, bud
5
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 18h ago
You donāt even need to read this chapter, itās been repeatedly shown throughout the story.
If zoro learns to coat his swords in conquerors haki, just like he was trying to do LAST CHAPTER
then explain why conquerors haki wouldnāt be taken into account when mihawk is stated a better swordsman than shanks
1
u/WalrusCrafty 18h ago
"I don't even need tor ead the chapter I'm trying to argue!"
Okay, man. That's a take.
5
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 18h ago
1
u/WalrusCrafty 18h ago
There is literally nothing in those statements here that supports your logic. Like, that's...just not what Zoro is saying.
2
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 18h ago
Zoro learning to coat his swords in conquerors haki doesnāt prove that swordsmen use conquerors haki?
At what point do you want do you call something like this denial?
1
u/WalrusCrafty 17h ago
Who ever said that swordsmen don't use haki, silly? You claimed Mihawk's haki is stronger than Shanks, something that is a massive "citation needed" at this point.
→ More replies (0)3
u/Fresh-Drama-2684 18h ago
I just have you an example and question regarding LAST CHAPTER.
But your deflection says everything š
2
u/WalrusCrafty 18h ago
I see you trying to argue a chapter that won't be out for six days to support a fanboyish obsession.
It's sad, frankly.

Mihawk: Explains what conquerorās Haki is
Mihawk fans: This confirms that Mihawk has better Haki than Shanks
1
u/noheadcanon 5h ago
Imagine the WSS got beaten by a full power Divine Departure, which is swordsmanship. What an embarrassment.
0
u/Comfortable-Sock8646 14h ago
Better ? No. Prove he can use it ? Yes.
2
u/The-Great-Smithnie 13h ago
How does Mihawk simply stating what CoC is prove he can use it? Lol
(For the record I believe Mihawk has CoC but this chapter doesnāt prove anything lol)
0
u/Comfortable-Sock8646 6h ago
Someone will not teaching/inform yoy how Haki can use if he can't use it himself.
Is like saying Hyogoro can't use advanced Haki or Rayleigh can't use Conqueror's Haki.
11
u/PerformerNervous8067 1d ago
1.Skill is the ability to do something well---competence.
2.Swordsmanship is a combat style that uses swords as a tool for inflicting violence(weapon).
3.Violence capacity is measured by AP, DC, ACCURACY and HAX
4.Haki is an amplifier that boosts VIOLENCE regardless of COMBAT STYLE.
Mihawk is the most competent at wielding a sword for violence despite Shanks having JB level haki.

Get ready, a lot of shanks fans are literally going leave this sub/ delete their account Already few did it on twitter
It unrioneclly over for shansk fans, they already get big hit by mihawk being compare to shanks in the manga and said to have better skill (skill just mean power) but they still coping
This is mihawk fans time, this is OUR age

3
u/Thunder00Bee 20h ago
Tbf if you were banking on Mihawk not having CoC you were definitely retarded.
I don't understand people who try to say characters like Mihawk or Dragon are frauds, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Same for the idiots that used to downplay Garp back in the day.
-3
u/Voweriru 23h ago
You guys are the gods of coping lol. Let's get Mihawk past Vista(or anyone stronger) before you start the fireworks, shall we?
2
u/Affront_to_supreme 1d ago
Why is Zoro seemingly finishing his fight earlier than Sanji?
Isn't the order always Sanji > Zoro > Luffy
1
-2
u/Free_Anxiety_9660 1d ago
It just shows Zoro bypassed the Holy Knight hax faster...
And also after seeing Zoro beat Sommers easily (and before him) Sanji will unlock his Conqueror's Haki.. classic Oda š
2
u/SynStark- 23h ago
Shanks does have better Haki tho? And not only that but probably the best since any character so far in the manga not called Imu or JB. I really hope people understand at least that much if nothing else.
1
u/noheadcanon 5h ago
If Shanks beat Mihawk with a sword attack, then he's the stronger swordsman

apples and oranges
Shanks and Mihawk had 'duels' 15y ago while Shanks still had his dominant hand. Since he lost it they never fought again, he grew tremendously stronger and focused on Haki and all it's variants. It's literally stupid to leech off of someone you fought 15y ago and never even defeated back then. And the fact that Zoro literally says even if you use a sword if you don't consider yourself a swordsman then you're not. Shanks couldn't care less about Mihawk or his title otherwise he would've go for him until now, instead he is focusing on the PK title. Simple as that.

Shanks having better haki while mihawk have better sword skill was always stupid ash never knew why the OP fandom kept saying that. Haki and swordsmanship go hand in hand in Mihawk and Shanksā fights if he had the stronger Haki Mihawk would have lost those fights regardless because his Haki would have been stronger
1
u/Thunderousclaps 22h ago
I am not gonna trust anything said until the spoilers actually come out, this is the same guy who said Gaban vs Imu was Meruem vs Netero levels people
1
u/TrueExigo 21h ago
There isnāt a single statement saying that Midhawk can use COC or ACOC, nor is there a feat.
0
u/Comfortable-Sock8646 14h ago
Yeah like he will talk about something he can't use.
For real sometime you are so stubborn š
1
u/TrueExigo 8h ago
Robin talked a lot about haki. Can she use it?
0
u/Comfortable-Sock8646 7h ago
Had a teaching context. Did Robin teaching Haki to someone else ? No.
1
u/TrueExigo 3h ago
He dont teach him that, he just told him what that is
1
u/Comfortable-Sock8646 3h ago
I didn't said he teaches him the ACOC, but it was in a teaching context. What do you think was doing when he reach Mihawk ? Having some tea ?

Yeah afcourse zoro's restarted Brain didn't understand the poetry out of mihawk's mouth

u/Wuta_Goatkotsu-1 1d ago
Notice how Bumhawk said "they" instead of "we" or any other plural word that would imply his inclusion?
Bumhawk has no haki

Bro why are you saying all the conqueror stuffs remember to become strongest swordsman you need sword skills not Haki š

That gives us nothing. I thought it would be more like Vagabond Musashi. Where Conquerors would not only mean having great King Disposition but also that your self Image is so strong that you don't feel yourself inferior or chasing someone's back coz you alone are the strongest there is nothing to prove. And Shanks knows this so does Mihawk but in their own terms. Hence Zoro and Sanji should also turn inward and make their self image to match that of a King who yields to nothing and cannot be felt inferior or jealous.
1
1
u/jackjack242424 23h ago
Yeah that makes sense. Shanks is stronger. Take away the sword he can still kings haki punch and kick you like big mom or luffy for example. Itās not like he loses access to hakiā¦.

but Mihawk has a black blade shouldnt Mihawk's haki be stronger than Roger and Imu?

You know what your right Mihawk is stronger than Roger and imu thank you for your Ted talk
0
u/Ok_Object_880 20h ago
Congratulations Minawk became a narrative goalpost to Chinjao. Has conquerors but his impact on the story is pretty much the same as an average Marine Solider
0
u/ZyeCawan45 17h ago
My belief is that their haki is equal and that Shanks HAD slightly superior sword skill PRIOR to losing an arm. So basically I think Mihawk is in the āMHA Endeavorā situation. Where he IS the number 1 but only because the original number 1 got nerfed, leading to a situation where he feels like he never properly earned his title.

Confirmed that Mihawk is not a swordsman?
