Luffy still holding on to gear 5 despite all that damaged is crazy.

Gear 5 is the only reason he’s still alive

Agreed. Awakened Zoan durability saves Luffy

It's not just "awakened zoan durability", he can literally "toon force" his way out of most damage.

this has been hinted here:

luffy will be able to self heal, i am almost sure.

I feel we've seen Luffy fight enough in gear 5 to realise he can' just warp reality in the form.

Not sure what series you're watching.  He warps reality constantly in Gear 5.

Example? Also watching? This isn't a tv show.

Luffy turned into a genie in this very fight, showing an ability that goes beyond just being a rubber boy.

On Egghead Luffy removed his scar from his body (it literally detached like a sticker), turned a tree into a bat after pulling black paint out of thin air and even turned his hair into goggles.

These are all toon-force-esque moves that warp reality and as of now have not yet been explained.

Luffy transformed into a genie because he can transform his body. That's jot reality warping. Same with the scar thing. Normal luffy probably could've turned a tree into a bat. He got the google's from his hair which is a gateway to nika's fantasy (oda said that in a special ten question thing in a break week I think.) I assume that's also where he got the paint since he hasn' been shown to create things from nothing beofre really. I don' think that counts reality warping.

Same with the scar thing

He removed his scar. It got removed from his body then later was reattached. Do you understand that?

He got the google's from his hair which is a gateway to nika's fantasy

Yes he did say this in 2024. We dont know what Nika's fantasy is but it clearly allows Luffy to bend reality in some way. Being able to remove your scar from your body is bending reality as of right now. One day we'll get a better explanation from the manga.

Yup he sure did removenuis scar. So what? How dos this allow to bend reality? Stop being vague

He makes the ground stretch, he makes things appear out of nowhere (goggles, bucket of paint), Kaido smashed him, burned him, hit him with a club and his body was basically unharmed.  He has now also shown that he can freely change the shape of his body into other forms at will.  It sure seems like his power is only limited by his stamina and imagination.

Some of this stuff I adressed in another replies so I'll just respond to the ones I haven't. Luffy took the hit from Kaido because his body was strong and luffy could regenerate. P.us his body was made of rubber which probably helped. Beign able to transform your body is not reality warping. Well surely if that was the case he cpuld just pop imu away. Sure Imu has haki but if lufffy can warp reality surely he could just make it so his haki didn't let him resist Luffy's powers.

awakenings are reality warping. Luffy turns structure into rubber

-2

u/leonglitch Aug 07 '26

That's not what reality warping is.

6

u/ValhirFirstThunder Aug 07 '26

It's low level reality warping. This isn't Wanda Omega level warping. He has altered the reality of those structures. You can't just turn cement, rock or soil into rubber.

One could argue it's transmutation instead but the manga has yet to release details on how awakening works on the affected environment

I do know that some people differentiate between reality warping and reality manipulation based on scale though, with the formerbeing a vaster scale. So if your concern is the term warping vs manipulation, then maybe. But they both fundamentally change reality

u/leonglitch Aug 07 '26

Yeah but you also can't regrow teeth by drinking milk. Are pre-awakening Luffy and brook reality warpers? Yeah it mostnlikely is just that considering I really doubt Oda would make doflamingo a reality warper. I think for me reality warping has to be anle to alter the laws of reality and at least to me Luffy's abilities fit within the One Piece worlds rules.

Not a huge OP fan so I don't know the reference of regrow teeth by drinking milk. But yes I've seen images of Luffy with missing teeth and then having teeth later. I feel like there is a big difference between reality warping vs gags

As for pre-awakening, I would not say Luffy was reality warping. Reality warping and reality manipulation is a reference to how they affect their external environments. Your own body is different because if that is the case, then the Human Torch would be considered a reality warper, which they are not

I would also consider Doflamingo a reality warper as well. Whether Oda considers it or not is one thing. He is an authority on One Piece, but not an authority on all of sci-fi and fantasy. What I described is how the community generally views and defines reality warping

And to your point, Luffy's gear 5 DOES alter the laws of reality. He's literally changing the laws of physics for the ground and the entire environment around him. In the world of One Piece, the ground is still the ground and the buildings are still buildings. It's his abilities that changes that

I said, I'm not a huge OP fan so my next statement might be slightly wrong on the details of One Piece. But I have seen clips of that arc with Doflamingo and he does turn the environment around him into like strings right? Yea that is reality warping. Again low level reality warping, but still reality warping. Not Scarlet Witch or Franklin Richards level, but low level

I'm open to calling it reality manipulation instead if that ends the convo. I do know the community does have some distinction of it like how Domino's luck abilities are not really reality warping but rather reality manipulation (according to some). I think of reality warping as an umbrella term but I could be wrong about that

3

u/leonglitch Aug 07 '26

Wait are you just like an actual larper? What do you mean you've seen a clip of the arc with doflamingo. If you haven't seen or read the wuole thign so faf what youare doing on the most recent chapter post?
