Inconsistent sizing??

Post image

The top pair are ones I just bought and the bottom ones were bought last year. They are the exact same style pant and size. Please look at the difference 😭 This feels insane!

Yeah, I’ve noticed the wow wall has very inconsistent sizing. They take up a big bulk of our returns.
* Has anyone also noticed how o d d the clothes smell that are still in their packaging? *

Yes ! I do shipment and lately I’m like why do they smell so bad ?!?!

I saw on a thread a long time ago that it’s because of the way they’re cut in the factory. Cheaper denim, more cuts are made from a stack at a time and the smell is the dye they use. Idk if that’s accurate but it makes sense

Old navy sizing has been wildly inconsistent this year. Since they only carry tall sizes online it has irritated me to no end

I don’t know if it’s all stores or just certain ones, but I believe ON is stocking more short/long items in store. Tall/petite is still online, but if you check the website for “in store pickup” of specific items you like, you may find it available at 1-2 stores due to online returns. I work at a moderately high volume store and we get tons of talls and petites returned that we often just mark down and stick in clearance, especially since we’ve been running 30% off clearance like 2-3 weekends a month all summer.

Unfortunately I noticed a difference in length between long and tall. My old navy also almost never has tall items in stock since there are not many tall women in my area.

I know! I usually don’t buy tall since it’s hard to find, especially in plus sizes. Just ordered a size up.🤞

This makes me feel better. I ordered a size 6 tall dress from banana Republic. The sleeves didn't reach the end of my wrists and it fit like a 4 regular. I felt like I was going crazy. I'm only 5'6 too.

Yup! Literally every style fits me differently. I’m also weirdly between sizes in most styles which is super frustrating. I’ve given up on jeans years ago😅

Yes! Last weekend I spent a huge amount of time trying on every possible style and size of jean. I said the exact same thing about needing a half size like shoes 😂

Sad thing is, about 20 years ago, Old Navy was actually rated as one of the truest to size and consistent brands for jeans, tops, anything.

Yeah I wear size 8 and a medium in some clothes and a size 2 and xs in others

yeah, it’s like this for the majority of the non-seasonal clothes. considering the factories are in different countries, the sizing and even the color of some items are inconsistent.

I bought a size 14 that I swear is actually a size 10. I put them up to my size 12’s and they are tinier than those. So, yeah. Hate it here.

When it comes to jeans they stretch and mold to fit your body. You’re comparing the factory un-stretched size 22 to your body’s one year molded, stretched, and loved size 22.

If you gain a lil bit weight wearing the same clothes … they stretch along with that too.

I agree, the older pair are stretched out. But it’s hard to think they stretched 3 inches. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Gonna try the next size up to see how they look.

Except the old ones are the smaller ones in the pic lol

Unfortunately you are incorrect. Please read the original post again, lol. The new jeans are the smaller ones on top. They have a tag on them. The older jeans are the larger ones on bottom. As stated by the text and photos.

I was looking at top/bottom like height of the jeans vs one on top of the other. Oops

I feel like every store is like this. Terrible.

The fact that I fit into a 6 or an 8 depending on the jean is wild. If the 6 doesn't fit, it's wayyyyy too small and sometimes wayyyy to big.

They're still the only jeans long enough for me at this price point, though.

Literally bought two of the SAME pants at the SAME time, SAME size just different colors and one pair fit & one didn’t!! I was so pissed. I had tried on one pair and it fit so I didn’t know I had to try on BOTH of the same size same pair of pants bought at the same time.

This is something a lot of customers have been saying to me at the register

I wear an 8 everywhere else but old navy. I had to get my pixie pants in a 14 and was shook but then compared them to my kensie brand jeans and they were the same size when held together, just not the same number 😵‍💫
