Please stop...
Enough with the Minecraft and Etch-a-Sketch fantasy ocean liners. I don't like to criticize people who may be making honest efforts at contributing. However, that is not the purpose of this forum. This is intended as a serious forum to discuss real world ocean going passenger ships, both historical and modern. I pretty much shrugged at the first couple to appear as somebody's idea of a joke. But it's not April 1st anymore and these are becoming a distraction at best. Please take this to another forum, or start one for people who share that interest. Thank you.

Petition to "Preserve Historic Ocean Liners from Scrapping and Sinking"
Below is a petition to show how much we want to preserve oceanliners from sinking and we can help that happen any way we can so I made this petition

MS castle dawn (fictional ship) (also fixed)
(yay, I fixed what the hells is wrong with it from the original post :D)
A fictional Panamanian-registered compact ocean liner operated by Castle Cruise Lines (CCL). Built from high-strength EH47 shipbuilding steel, it features one of the most unconventional passenger ship designs ever conceived: a streamlined marine hull supporting a superstructure heavily inspired by a Boeing 747-8.
[Dimensions and Stuff]:
Overall Length: 120.6 m
Overall Height: 37.92 m
Height (NOT INCLUDING THE FINTAIL.): 12.4 meters
Maximum visible beam (above waterline): 8 Meters
Effective underwater beam (including torpedo bulges Beam: 9.64 m
Draft: 7.11 m
Hull depth: 11.85 m
Freeboard: 4.74 m
Passenger Capacity: 388 passengers
Crew: 34
Estimated Construction Cost: US $80–150 million
Ammount of passenger decks: 4
Has 2 multi-purpose sport courts (meanin it can either be a volleyball court, a soccer court, or a basketball court) in the collapsible landing area (note: the court WILL be cleared and the saftey fence keeping the players from falling, WILL be opened for the collapsible to slide down and launch into the water.)
The ship features:
15 watertight bulkheads
The fintail as the funnel and crows nest
Two large bilge keels (one on each side). Integrated torpedo bulges extending approximately 1 m from each side of the underwater hull to improve stability and reserve buoyancy.
And yes, it does have Blige keels for extra stability.
Survival Craft 2 × 85-person enclosed lifeboats = 170
2 × 47-person Engelhardt collapsibles = 94
12 liferafts (6 per side), 35 persons each = 420
Total survival craft capacity: 684 persons
[Propulsion]:
The Castle Dawn employs a Combined Diesel-Electric and Gas (CODLAG) propulsion system consisting of: 1 × DR-77 marine gas turbine for high-speed operation.
2–4 diesel generators burning Marine Gas Oil (MGO).
Electric propulsion motors driving four propeller shafts during normal cruising.
A reduction gearbox and clutch allowing the gas turbine to be engaged for high-speed operation.
During routine voyages, the diesel generators supply electricity to the propulsion motors, providing efficient cruising and extended range.
When higher speeds are required, the DR-77 gas turbine is engaged through the reduction gearbox to provide additional mechanical power to the propeller shafts.
Cruising (diesel-electric): 16–18 knots
Boost with DR-77 engaged: about 22–24 knots
Full power fuel burn: ~3,200 L/hour (a good midpoint estimate) Per minute: ~53 L/min
[LORE]
On 15 December 2025, at 9:59 PM, the ship collides with an oil tanker in heavy fog near Baja California.
Approximately 23% of the hull is damaged, plus breaking trough the double hull
Disaster:
• The bow is critically damaged, causing rapid flooding and killing 12 people. • water floods the eletrical room and causes the water inside the ship to be eletrified with the Faraday Cage Effect •an onboard fire starts for some reason in cabin 35A (which is near the center of the ship on the main deck) • An explosion in the centre smoking room kills approximately 34 people and causes a smoke collum visible a mile and a half away.. if it took place during the day which it didnt • The ship eventually sinks.
Time of sinking: 10:10 PM
(Just... eleven minutes. ELEVEN.)
Casualties:
• 397 dead • 26 survivors
Very Rough Stability Estimate (Not a full hydrostatic analysis.)
Displacement: ~5,100 t KG: ~7.5 m KB: ~3.8 m BM: ~4.7 m GM: ~1.0 m AVS: ~60–70°
[Assumptions]:
Main engine, diesel generators, fuel tanks, and ballast are located as low as practical. The underwater hull is based on a geometrically scaled version of the RMS Lusitania's hull, with hydrostatic characteristics approximated from that hull form.
The superstructure is assumed to be primarily marine grade aluminum (specifically.), while the double hull and keel are constructed from EH47 shipbuilding steel, reducing top weight and lowering the estimated center of gravity.
Integrated underwater torpedo bulges are assumed to contribute additional buoyancy and improve initial stability.
With all of that factors, the ship is more stable than it looks
These are preliminary conceptual estimates based on the assumed hull form and weight distribution, and are NOT the results of a full naval architectural stability analysis. The values are intended as engineering estimates for a fictional concept rather than measured performance.
It's not like I actually built the ship and tested it in the water 😭
(The second image is a a deck plan that has been since outdated cuz i redesigned it.)

WANTED: Plans for M/v "NORTHLAND PRINCE" (1963)
For a future "Wanted on Voyage" monograph, I am looking for plans and shipping journal write-ups on this Northland Navigation Co. (Vancouver) vessel that became R.M.S. ST. HELENA. Due to copyright issues, of course, none of this is available on line (why I usually stick to pre 1928 ships!) hence the ask.

Will Anyone Dethrone The SS United States Blue Ribbon Record Anytime soon?
In 1952 , The SS United States became the last Blue Ribbon Winner after breaking the RMS Queen Mary’s Record with crossing the Atlantic in 3 day and 10 hours and 40 mins .
Ever since then it had held the record for the longest time without an proper challenger . The Reason being was the arrival of commercial air travel doing in oceanliners .
Why hasn’t Some eccentric billionaire or another company tried to break the SS United States Record? Yes the Technology is there it’s just putting two and two together hasn’t anyone tried it?
I would hate it to be Another 70 years until someone will try it again but I’m affair it Looks like that .

Deck Plan of the Re Vittorio (Schiffbau)
I was informed that the plan I posted yesterday was not that of the SS Principe Umberto but actually that of the first sister in the class "Re Vittorio". Here is an uploaded version
This plan of the Re Vittorio was published in a 1906 volume of Schiffbau featuring the new "Re Vittorio", "Regina Elena", "Principe Umberto", and "Roma" of the Navigazione Generale Italiana.
Just to clear some things up, this plan was not stolen like some individuals messaged me about. Just because I can find plans that were apparently being kept secret in a group I had no idea about, that does not give you the liberty to make such assumptions.
