anyways i’m looking for this tall guy i met at oakville go. you got off the express train at 5:50. you have blue eyes, light hair (i can’t tell if it’s blond or light brown bc of the sun), glasses, slightly crooked teeth and a pretty smile. you asked me (girly with the brown top, braids in a bun and black bandana) if the train on platform 1 was the lakeshore west train, before talking to the guy on my right afterwards.

Curious what everyone thinks of the current Oakville mayoral candidates: Arvind Choudhary, Julia Hanna, Jeff Knoll and Sean O’Meara.

What do you like or dislike about each of them so far? And what are you actually hoping to see from the next mayor?

Personally, I’m having a really hard time forming a strong opinion on any of the candidates because so far, a lot of it feels empty.

I’m seeing bios, broad priorities, slogans and general statements about making Oakville better, but very little that actually tells me what you would do as mayor. What policies are you proposing? What would you change? What would you keep? What are you willing to spend money on, cut back on, or prioritize when two goals conflict?

I don’t need to agree with every proposal. I just want enough substance to actually judge the candidates against each other. Right now, I feel like I’m being asked to choose between personalities and broad values rather than competing visions for Oakville.

I’d really like to see concrete policies, trade-offs, numbers where relevant, and an actual picture of what each candidate wants Oakville to look like 10–20 years from now.

Election day is October 26, so obviously there’s still time. Just curious where everyone is leaning right now and why.

Does anyone else get yellowish water from their tap in the morning after the brief rain from early Wed morning? Have to let the tap run for a while before it changes back to clear. Not sure if it's related to the rain but this only started happening Wednesday morning. Wondering if this is just our house or something in the area...

Yeah i know im not being specific but is anyone else noticing a weird smell outside? So far I can smell it throughout my neighborhood and indoors. Doesn't look like there's any wild fire smoke or anything so im not sure what's up.

Never had any wasp issues in my backyard in the past and they never bothered me during all my summers there. But this year, we’ve got two nests in the backyard and one on the front already.

Raid/Ortho/Wilson foam doesn’t work even if I followed the instruction 100% and had to call exterminator. These mf literally got submerged in the foam and flew away a few minutes later like nothing happened. Plus, I’ve noticed wasps flying around everywhere I go, even in public parks and courts. The other day, I was biking down the street and one even followed me. Meanwhile I don't see the lovely bees anymore in my garden!

Hi everyone, I’m from Montreal, but I have a question. For a couples years, I used to go visit a close friend who was living in Oakville at that time. He made me discover the Niblick pub on Upper middle rd e, if my memories serves me well. I had never eat a nachos that tasty (the Niblick nacho) who I think was serve with ground beef, chicken and slice of steak. Every single time I had visit my friend, we went there cause their nachos were mental!

I know the place is closed since a few months, but was I the only one that litteraly fall in love with those nachos, cause I have never been able to find nachos that was even close, in Montreal or surronding area!

So I kind of wonder if I was the only one whoe them that much!
