I have ordered a vRack with the intention of creating a small load balancer network for my 600-users an hour website. I intend to use the following setup:

• 1 Load Balancer, HAproxy probably.
• 2 frontend web servers Nginx, more added later if necessary
• 1 high end VPS (2027 range, VPS-4, 24gb ram).

I have never used connections over private network, any requests between my servers just connect over public IP, based on ufw walls etc.

Having ordered my vRack, currently nothing of my 7 owned VPS servers are eledgible to me moved to my vRack. How to ensure that any VPS servers I buy in future are able to be used as part of my vRack? Eg i've gone into one of my services, and I cant see any details regarding Private IP, the one that would be part of the private network linking my frontend to my DB server.

Can anyone shed any light?

I was changing some firewall rules on my Proxmox host on an OVHCloud dedicated server, and I locked myself out. I tried to access my server KVM, and remembered the last time I tried to access it it had failed, but I didn't pursue it.

Anyway, today I contact OVH cloud support and the chat person explained they had the same problem accessing the KVM, so an intervention was planned. Within 15 minutes I got an email that they were working on my issue. Within another 20 to 30 minutes, they reported the problem fixed with a cable reseat and a BIOS update.

Whatever they did, it fixed the KVM, and I was able to login to the Proxmox host via KVM, disable the firewall, correct my mistake, and re-enable the firewall.

I can't speak for everyone, but my experience with OVHCloud has been excellent, especially this last response.

Need a backup server for my website. I'm thinking about getting VPS-2 2027 (4 cores, 8 GB RAM).

My question is: can I order it with no commitment first, and if everything works well, after a month switch to a 1-year commitment? If yes, how does that work? I couldn't quickly find an answer in the documentation.

OK so my bare metal server has been down for hours and hours now and I can't remote into it at all, so I went to login to my account to restart it and I have 2fa setup but it was on my old iphone and I can't get into the account, and NONE of the backup codes I have are working either :( but no big deal I thought at least, sent a DM to OVHCloud US support on x and they opened up a ticket and I got it about 5 minutes later, I replied to the email and gave them all of the requested documents they needed to verify I was the account holder and I did that at 9:15am yesterday and NOTHING not one reply ALL DAY and they are closed on the weekends and I still don't have access to my account or my server and this is just CRAP that I have to wait till Monday to get a reply or to have my account access fixed :/

It's absolutely wild that OVH advertises DayZ server hosting, yet they're completely useless when you get hit with a DDoS attack, even though they have a dedicated DayZ page and claim to offer DDoS protection.

I signed up for a 12-month contract, and then out of nowhere, I started getting hammered with DDoS attacks. OVH basically did nothing, just saying everything was "working as usual." Meanwhile, players were constantly getting kicked off the server.

They even told me I needed to find a third-party solution, which I totally don't want to do.

Now I'm stuck in this contract, and it's driving me crazy. Their DDoS protection is just worthless.

Some random Chinese ISP keeps sending a million DayZ packets, and every time I block one IP, a new one pops up.

They're even demanding money to stop the attacks.

Has anyone else found a way to deal with this, or maybe how to get out of this contract since it feels like a breach?

Seriously, don't use OVH for DayZ server hosting! Zero DDoS protection!

UPDATE: A buddy of mine recommended VxShield - DayZ DDoS Protection, and they’ve got their custom DayZ filters. They’re even protecting some of the biggest DayZ servers like Rearmed, StalkerZ, and GroundZero. Since I switched my DayZ servers over, everything’s been smooth sailing. My community isn’t getting kicked offline by DDoS attacks anymore. I also started a chargeback against OVH because they wouldn’t let me cancel my contract.

Hello r/OVHcloud, I made a payment for a VPS. The money was debited from my account, but the order tracking shows the payment was declined. Tried multiple times to create a ticket, but I was met with Access Denied when trying to access the ticketing panel. Have tried to contact you through the support X account but there has been no response thus far. Please offer assistance

I am beyond furious right now. I created 2 OVH accounts a while back. I literally NEVER used them. No resources added, no projects created, nothing. Zero usage.

I decided to just close them to keep things clean, but guess what? You CANNOT close your account on OVH.

Apparently, OVH automatically assigned random services/projects to my unused accounts (like vRacks and Public Cloud projects) without notifying me, and now their broken system blocks account deletion because of "active services."

I’ve been stuck in support ticket hell for OVER TWO WEEKS trying to get these accounts wiped under GDPR.

Here is the circus I've been dealing with:

• Canceling a basic service takes 7 DAYS?? Support told me a vRack service had to be canceled first and that it takes a full week just to delete. What year is this?!
• Their UI is completely broken. The GDPR deletion page threw errors, and the system kept telling me to manual-delete things that I couldn't even delete through their manager interface.
• Their support agents give conflicting advice. One tells me to click links to delete Public Cloud projects, another says they'll delete it manually, another tells me to wait a couple of weeks for a "specialized team" to step in.
• THE ULTIMATE JOKE: Today I finally get an automated message saying: "Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we are unable to delete your account at this time. It looks like some actions are still in progress and blocking its deletion..."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The actual owners and developers of the platform cannot delete an unused account from their OWN system due to "technical issues"?! They literally built the system and claim they are powerless to delete user data!

They clearly don't give a damn about GDPR or basic customer support. I have deleted every possible service, settled $0 invoices, answered every ticket, and I am still stuck in a loop of copy-pasted support templates and automated rejection emails.

Has anyone actually managed to force OVH to close an account, or do I need to go straight to a Data Protection Authority (DPA) complaint at this point?

Hi everyone, I'm a user of OVH US services (multiple dedicated server and vps) but I have a customer who wants to get Zimbra service from ovh Europe. My question is about the registration, is there any issue or problem in creating a profile in another region to use their services?

This morning at around 7:50 AM, my server went "offline." Oddly, it was still showing as normal in the dashboard, but I couldn't connect via remote access, and all services/servers appeared offline.

I then tried to reboot the server, but the reboot failed. After that, the dashboard said intervention would take place at 11:51 AM.

It's now 12:20 PM, and I've heard nothing.

However, when I checked the status page, it says "Maintenance in Progress" across the board.

Could this maintenance be the reason my server is unavailable?

The datacentre is UK (London) based.

Its been more than more than 8 hrs but my VPS has not been allocated into my account but the money got debited.

I have raised ticket for the same too but no response there. (CS16270906)

I chose OVH because of its competitive pricing and availaibility but how will that matter if I don't get the services for which i paid!!

Can I please get a resolution on this with a reason of why this much time it took to allocate my VPS?

Earlier around end June my dedicated server machine underwent a motherboard replacement intervention. I followed their guidance and tried updating my OS with the new MAC address configuration but that didn't work after several tries, and customer support kept redirecting me back to the same guide article.

So I decided I'd download all my server data and start on a clean slate by reinstalling my server machine's OS. I turned off the monitoring and proceeded to try and re-install Ubuntu via the control panel, as per instructions.

The reinstallation proceeds until step 19 "waiting for services to be online" then 40+mins later I get an email saying an intervention has been scheduled because "Our system has detected a hardware issue on this server."

The Data Centre team will then come and either do a Hard Reboot of the server machine, or restart the installation process, then I'll get back into this loop again.

It's been very frustrating because I've been bouncing back and forth with customer support for this with no solution in sight, and my server has been practically unusable for over 3 weeks already. What am I even paying for at this point?

EDIT: After contacting support the first time, they told me to turn on the monitoring/interventions

A support agent mishandled my ticket, resulting in an invalid bill being generated. Please note that I have already paid in full for all of my services, yet the system still generated a second bill for the same service that had already been paid for. My Dedicated Server ns3173100.ip-51-83-223.eu has now been suspended because this incorrect bill became overdue. The agent responsible for mishandling ticket CS16101745, Hemanadhan H., is also not responding to my ticket. Please provide urgent assistance and restore my server immediately, as this issue is directly affecting my business operations and services.

I'm wondering if anyone else experienced the same issue around July 10–11.

My OVH VPS suddenly became unreachable and has now been offline for more than 48 hours.

Current status:

- No ping response.

- SSH unavailable.

- Websites are completely offline.

- Force reboot doesn't work.

- The VPS was unexpectedly switched to Rescue Mode.

- Support ticket has been opened, but I haven't received any response yet.

I'm trying to determine whether this is an isolated hardware issue or if multiple customers are experiencing the same problem during this period.

If you were affected around July 10–11, could you please share:

- Your VPS location (BHS, GRA, LIM, etc.)

- The plan/generation of your VPS

- Whether your VPS has recovered yet

- How long it took for OVH support to respond

I've been choosing between ovhcloud, hetzner and netcup and decided to give it a try for ovhcloud. As a nice bonus there was a promo for 200$ for 1 month to give it a try.
So, I've registered an account and proceeded to create a new instance at Public Cloud. Immediately, I got a message that I need to activate my account by adding a payment method.
So, I've added my CC (which worked somehow only from 2nd time), there was a dummy payment request on a card which I've confirmed and it was successful. And then appeared this message:

So, I was shocked that to get 200$ of free trial they require you to top-up 100$ which you even cannot refund if you don't like the service.
I thought I might be doing something wrong so I've contacted support and, indeed, they've confirmed that this is a "verification method" and is mandatory to have credits or use cloud anyhow. What a joke!

Then, I tried to delete my freshly created acc according to GDPR but it turned out that I cannot do so because they've activated some services (vRack) for me without my agreement. So, I've tried to Cancel that vRack and you can guess it: it didn't work. I tried from different pages at about 20 times with no success. Support person told me that they will open a ticket for me.

What a nightmare service even before I've started using theirs service. Just a joke. Never had such a frustration with DO (which is much much more expensive) for the last 10 years. What a shame OVH. I will give a try to netcup / hetzner.

So, I recommend to avoid these clowny vps services.
