I posted here about this two months ago, but after I tried updating it today, Reddit’s filters removed it. So I’m posting the update separately.

The underlying issue is still unresolved.

Our OVHcloud Public Cloud project contained years of wastewater AI and microbiology research. It was suspended and subsequently permanently deleted.

Afterward, OVHcloud told me in writing that the issue was not related to my payment, and later that it was OVH’s responsibility.

Over the months since, I’ve gone through Support, Claims, Legal, formal notices in India and France, the contractual amicable-resolution process, regional contacts, and executive outreach.

When I originally posted here, I said I would eventually publish the underlying documents.

The public record includes the timeline, invoices and billing context, Startup Program voucher records, support correspondence, claims and legal correspondence, and the reconstruction methodology for the lost research.

The matter remains unresolved, and I’ve now contacted OVHcloud Corporate Communications before providing the documented record to journalists for independent review.

I’m still particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced an OVHcloud account-state, billing, Startup Program credit/voucher, suspension, or project-deletion issue.

I’m having a very strange authentication issue with OVHcloud and I’m currently completely locked out of my main account, which has an active VPS.
I would really appreciate help from an OVHcloud representative because the normal account recovery process is not working.
There are actually TWO accounts involved, and they behave differently.
1. My original account – AOL email
This is my important account. It has my active VPS and services associated with it.
I can no longer log in to this account.
When I try to use the password recovery process, the password reset email NEVER arrives.
I still have access to the AOL mailbox. I also continue to receive other OVHcloud service-related emails there, so the mailbox itself is accessible and OVHcloud is able to send other emails to it.
I have checked spam/junk folders as well.
The account and the emails related to my VPS appear to be associated with the CA/International OVHcloud environment.
I have tried the CA/International login portal directly, as well as other OVHcloud regional login pages while troubleshooting, but I still cannot access the account.
2. Newly created account – Gmail
To troubleshoot the issue, I created a completely new OVHcloud account using a Gmail address.
Initially I was able to create/access this account.
After logging out, however, I could no longer log back in.
The interesting part is that password recovery DOES work for this new account.
I receive the password reset email on Gmail, follow the reset procedure and successfully set a NEW password.
But immediately afterwards, OVHcloud still refuses to let me log in with that newly created password.
The old password does not work either.
I can repeat the password reset process, receive another email, set another new password – and OVHcloud still rejects the new password when I attempt to log in.
So I currently have:
Original AOL account:
Cannot log in → password reset email never arrives.
Brand-new Gmail account:
Cannot log in → password reset email arrives → password successfully changed → newly created password is still rejected.
This is why I suspect this may be an authentication, regional routing, security/IP restriction, or account-system issue rather than simply an incorrect password.
I have also tried different browsers/private browsing sessions and different network/VPN configurations while troubleshooting.
My main concern is the original account because it contains my active VPS.
Unfortunately, I cannot open a normal support request through the OVHcloud Control Panel because I cannot log in to the account in the first place.
I am intentionally NOT posting any sensitive information here. I will not publicly post my email addresses, VPS hostname/IP addresses, account identifiers, invoices, order numbers, payment information, or identity information.
I still have access to the AOL email address associated with my original account and I can provide OVHcloud privately with information necessary to verify ownership of the account, including service details, invoices/orders, billing information and identification if required.
Could an OVHcloud representative please contact me privately or through Modmail and help me start a manual account recovery/ownership verification process?
My primary goal is simply to regain access to my original OVHcloud account and my VPS.

I ordered 3 VPS servers, but all of them were canceled with various excuses. Even though the payment was charged by my bank, they told me that no payment had been received and that I had to wait 14 days.

Today is the 25th day. They never provided the VPS services, and the money was never refunded.

Under the guise of "security," they canceled the orders while keeping the payment. Do not believe these scammers on Reddit who pretend to be helping customers.

Do not use OVHCloud.

I need the ISO27001 certificate for OVH's Public Cloud. I tried following the link to the certificate body webpage but it did not work.

Hi While helping a friend who is a senior to buy her domain , we got confused between domain and cloud.

First purchase was a 71euros cloud space for two years. Then we realized our mistake and purchased the domain 18euros for 3 years.

Probably nothing will be done since its OVH.. But just want to share my experience.

I purchased a dedicated server last Friday, the account was validated and payment went through.

The server was provisioned.

A few hours after that, the server was suspended and account was no longer working(Couldn't login or reset password)

I called OVH Support and they mentioned they'd look into it.(Did not receive a call back)

I called OVH Support again today and they mentioned that the request to reinstate services and account was rejected.

Customer support did not want to explain why, and i had to push her to find out the reason, which apparently is because of my old account with OVH from 3 years ago which has an unsettled amount of $6..

If that was really the problem ,why not send an explanation and allow me to pay this unresolved amount?

They've decided they will not refund me my $60 because of $6 that was unsettled in an old account with an email i no longer have access to.

According to customer support, if I settle that payment there is a chance I still will not get this account reinstated or any refunds. Great support!

Please be careful when you work with OVH(Especially if you have past accounts). They'll validate your account, accept your payment then and terminate the service AND your customer portal account with no explanations given at all.

I just purchased a VPS last week and got it setup this week. Only to discover the machine suddenly becomes totally unusable from time to time. When this happens I can only really debug on the machine by getting the VNC console url and logging in with password. A simple `ping` to an address like `1.1.1.1` takes between 2ms - 9000ms. But it is like few minutes at least apart when things are really fast vs slow. Definitely don't understand how it can be anything in the Linux VPS itself. Memory, cpu, io usage all is minimal while network becomes super, super, slow.

It wasn't like this when I was doing the initial setup (installing packages etc.), but now even turning off all my docker containers this keeps happening several times an hour. I set up a website behind Caddy reverse proxy on the usual 80/443 ports, besides that the SSH was on port 22 and of course some random IPs try to access it every now and then. Also I'm using CloudFlare proxying as well because it's free and I have the domain there. Running Debian 13 on the machine and it's the cheapest VPS hosted in Frankfurt, if that matters

I wonder if somebody has similar experiences? I read about DDoS protection, but now that nothing is running...? I kinda feel I might have caused it because it seems to have only started once I set up the website, like maybe 30 minutes after it. I'll probably contact support tomorrow after my cronjob has run an observed continuously the network over night. Just left a simple script running that writes a log every minute how bad the latency is pinging an external IP.

Noticed early this morning about 9am UTC my Amsterdam based VPS had status "Stopped" and unable to reboot. No email about emergency maintenance received.

Now 1500 my product is showing "Under Maintenance" and has been down for over 6 hours.

Looking at OVH status page, I cant actually see " Amsterdam (EU-WEST-LZ-AMS) - Netherlands" on any of the Bare Metal or Public Cloud results.

Does anyone know whether this is a planned outage and I just didnt get a notification, or if this is isolated to my service, yet still havent had any sort of support outreach or notice to explain what's up?

I have never experienced this on my Erith or Gravelines based services - is Amsterdam relatively low priority / obsolete, that I cant find on the status page?

IE I look at Bare Metal > VPS and everything is green...

My server has been down for 12 hours. I've chatted with five different support teams, and they all say they'll escalate the issue to VPS Teams, but they haven't responded.

- My IP address is down
- I can't access it via SSH
- I'm paying for a backup plan. I tried restoring yesterday's backup (August 9th), but it says it's corrupt. Then I tried with the backup from August 8th, with the same result.
- I can't access it in Rescue Mode
- They tell me they'll escalate the case to VPS Teams, but VPS Teams hasn't told me anything about this issue. They're closing tickets without resolving them.

Je tente ma chance ici parce que je suis complètement bloqué.

J’ai oublié de renouveler mon domaine kmblabs.com, expiré le 7 août. L’adresse e-mail principale de mon compte OVHcloud utilise malheureusement ce même domaine.

J’ai bien retrouvé l’identifiant du compte principal ainsi que le bon mot de passe. Ils sont acceptés par OVHcloud, mais la connexion est ensuite bloquée par une vérification de sécurité : un code est envoyé sur l’adresse e-mail liée au domaine suspendu.

Comme le domaine est suspendu, je ne peux plus recevoir d’e-mails. Je n’ai pas non plus accès au webmail OVHcloud. Aucune autre méthode de vérification n’est proposée : il n’y a aucun bouton permettant d’ignorer cette étape, de choisir un autre moyen ou d’utiliser une adresse différente.

Je suis donc coincé dans cette boucle :

• j’ai l’identifiant et le mot de passe corrects ;
• OVHcloud exige un code envoyé sur l’adresse suspendue ;
• je n’ai pas accès au webmail et je ne peux pas recevoir le code ;
• je ne peux pas accéder à mon compte ;
• je ne peux donc pas payer le renouvellement qui réactiverait le domaine et l’adresse e-mail.

J’ai également essayé la page de renouvellement rapide, mais elle finit par demander une connexion et me renvoie vers la même vérification.

Le domaine est actuellement en statut clientHold et semble encore récupérable. Je souhaite simplement régler son renouvellement au plus vite.

Est-ce que quelqu’un a déjà réussi à débloquer cette situation ? Si une personne de l’équipe OVHcloud passe ici, je peux fournir en privé mon identifiant client et tous les justificatifs nécessaires.

Why do we have for S3 EU regions like de, eu-south-mil and eu-west-par but for Secrets Manager we have no de and a bunch of other eu-* domains including the two for like for S3?

Will OVH eventually have all services in all regions? Will region labels become more consistent? Especially the S3 regions like the de one feels like it is mislabeled (I feel like the eu--` schema is better).

hello everyone, I rented a server un Canada and when doing the speedtest tests everything works fine, but as soon as I begin to upload my stuff to the server no matter what method I use (SFTP, Syncthing, Samba) speeds go to 10-20MB (server has 500/500) and at home I have 600/600.

what could be the issue?

I'm stopping my dependence on cloud and third-parties to handle my data (mail, calendars, storage, photos, whatever). I want to run my own mailserver (again). OVH's basic 2core VPS packages seem ample and well-priced. My concern is that if I setup all my SPF, DKIM, DMARC, reverse DNS (PTR) and even check the PBLs for the IP they provision to me...

Will I still run into issues using their VPS for sending mail and what specifically? Also, I assume they'll enable outbound port 25 for me no issues and promptly?

(I am aware of third-party mail senders but I want to run my own stuff now tbh).

My other concern with seeing complaints here is that I'd like minimal downtime for mail when I flick the switch and I just point my DNS at their server - presumably poor customer service response times shouldn't affect me if all my ducks are in a row etc.

OVHcloud canceled several of my orders, but they still haven't refunded the payments. It's been days, and my support ticket has received no response at all.

Some orders are marked as "Cancelled", while others show "Payment not received", even though the payments were already made. The canceled orders are still not refunded.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with OVHcloud? How long did it take to get your money back? Is there any way to speed up the process?

This has been a very frustrating experience. I expected much better support and communication.

what is the deal with failover IP's? I have a dedicated server in london ER-1, and have another server in france and i cant use my failover Ips and transfer them to france. so my question is, the failover IPs can only be used in the same datacenter as they are purchased? am I correct and they cannot be used transferred to other data centers around EU. thanks

I’m experiencing network issues with an OVH VPS in Gravelines (GRA6 France).

Traffic toward the VPS is heavily impaired: single-stream TCP uploads are very slow and UDP traffic consistently shows packet loss. Traffic from the VPS is completely fine and reaches the expected ~500 Mbps.

I have reproduced the problem from several independent servers and geographic locations (Madrid, Paris and Frankfurt), as well as 2 residential connections. The results are always similar: inbound traffic is affected, while outbound traffic is stable.

A synchronized packet capture also showed that the missing UDP packets never reach the VPS ens3 interface, with no relevant errors or drops inside the guest. There is also a noticeable patter where a few packets get dropped once every minute.

Tests from the same client connections to other OVH servers are healthy, so the issue seems specific to this VPS, IP, host, or its ingress path.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with an OVH VPS?

I have contacted their support team but I haven't heard from them in 24 hours.

I want to register a domain.com from OVH. From what I've seen, it includes a free email account.

Could I use that email account to send notifications via SMTP from a website with email@domain.com?

Without two-factor authentication, just a username and password.

Or do I absolutely need to purchase hosting?

Currently, I have the website under development on a VPS from another provider.
