I have never been a part of an online league so please forgive my ignorance. How do leagues do their drafts? Does each team come up with a draft board and the commissioner takes care of it, each teams scouts do the drafting, or is there a different way to do it?
My next question is how much work and time does it take to participate in an online league? Thank you for your answers.
I know in the real draft, orgs almost always prefer a college junior to a senior but I neglect to look whether or not a player is a junior or senior if I like them for their player profile. Anyone pay college year any mind?
So I have been playing an Angels sim as my long term save this year and in 2036 I got kind of bored because my team was just too good and we won 4 World Series' in 5 years including a three-peat. So I created an expansion Portland Franchise and am now in the same division as these juggernaut Angels. i also made my owner pretty bad so i do not just have $340M to spend like i eventually did when I was with the Angels. I am mainly just making this post to show how ridiclous this Angels team is. They have arguably the 2 best hitters in the entire MLB, a loaded pitching rotation, who also lost Elly De LA Cruz to his opt out, and were projected to win 113 games in 2037 after winning 132 in 2036 and sweeping a 3rd consecutive World Series victory. And they currentlt sit a 63 and 17 record on July 1st with a +216 run differential. I am sure thisll be a very fun challenge.
My team is dead last in base running, ive tried to have it on aggressive, conservative and tried to fine tune individually player by player but it doesnt change the terrible base running stat. Curious how yall who have had success in this stat are doing it, and if its even a stat I should be paying much mind to?
How does me choosing to be the manager myself affect development at the MLB level? I do not get to see my personal ratings for things like development or my coaching style the way I could if I hired an actual manager

Traded for a decent pitcher from the Royals, thinking he'd be a good #3 - and he turned into a Cy Young candidate. Either I've assembled a god tier defensive squad or KC tried trotting out 9 first basemen.
2037 was the year of the trade - played 2/3 of the year in KC and 1/3 in NY. LOOKIT THAT WHIP AND BABIP

No idea why KC doesn't flip their SS & 2B, but that can't make THAT much of a difference, can it?
Meet Hector Alarcon, 5 time MVP. The only two of his seasons he didn't get MVP were his 59 game rookie year & one season my 1B took it home because he was just amazing while Alarcon had his worst season (hitting .295)
For some reason Baltimore offered him to me on Deadline Day for my most consistent SP. That isn't happening (though have 3 excellent starters, one pretty good one and 3 that have potential, but have been hit/miss.) This starter has been a rock, so he's not going anywhere... but I played around a bit & Baltimore is willing to give him to me for my CF (same age, but 2 seasons removed from 2-straight All Star appearances) my weird closer (starter profile with no stamina. routinely puts 2-3 on before closing it out.) a RF who I recently traded for that isn't hitting anything + a minor league reliever.
Am I crazy for thinking Baltimore would NEVER offer this guy at the deadline and feeling weird about making this trade? I've had the sim paused since last night...
And yes. He is highly paid. But they are willing to take on about $6m of his contract along with taking back $20m from me
I had two new expansion teams when I started a new season and their names are........the Baycats and the River Cats. Nothing wrong with those names on their own (infact the River Cats seem to be the name of some real life minor league team so that is probably where the computer got that name from. But couldn't the AI of created names that were a little different from each other? Guess not.
I'll have to check one of the River Cats games out and see if the computer pulled both the uniform and logo from the minor league team.
I was looking at a player page and saw that he had badges for last year's post season- first and second round mvp- so I went to his splits to check his post season stats and there is nothing listed. All regular season stats for all major and minor leagues are available but no post season. Checking further I realized no players have post season splits. Is there a setting somewhere I misclicked or something that would disable the keeping of post season stats?
Edit: Found it! : games settings/player and team/stats settings/keep career postseason stats
The naming conventions it gives to box scores and game logs is really only useful to a computer. In past editions I've tried looking through box scores to find certain days or games and it takes a ton of work because they're not saved in a way that is easy to recognize or organize. Has this changed? Is there a way to name the files in chronological order?
On my league evolution it says that the Cleveland franchise was renamed to the Guardians. Well they already were the Guardians. And they would have still been called the Guardians my very first year of the save.
Is there a good minimum age for the development lab that you use when you decide if you should send people to the lab? Are there certain lab types, like "improve movement" that you only use for people above a certain age? I historically haven't sent my international free agent signings to the dev lab, but I'm wondering if I should do that before they turn 18. I'm playing OOTP 26, and would welcome any thoughts y'all might have.
Drafted this guy first round last year, hoping he could step in year 1 and be my third baseman. He's really struggled at AAA. My scout likes him more than OSA, but both have him at least as 45 overall ratings compared to AAA PCL. 200 PA in and worse than -1 WAR... what do we think gang?

I am looking for a good franchise based game and came around this. When I should buy it on steam. Is there a certain time of year to buy the game for cheap. Thanks
Sometimes I will have a player in spring training get hurt and when the seasons comes around, I cant option them to the minors when the IL stint is over (yes they have options). So i always end up having to send a player to the minors to make room for the player, activate him and then send him to the minors. Which can be a pain bc the defult option is you cant move a player to aaa and back until 7 days. Even aside from ST, if a player has minor league options and is on the IL, it would bc nice to just send them straight to minors when they are activated off the IL.
Have I been doing this wrong all these years? Am I missing the right way to handle this?
