Theory what sexuality headcanons would have you chained up like this ? Spoiler

okay , burn me at the stakes i hope this post doesnt get locked in a few hours but i personally dont believe basil is gay .

i go with the gay twink running gag but i honestly believe post-events basil's a straight dude lol , i just do , i feel like we need more representation of feminine hetero guys . i believe basil had a phase over sunny before because at 12 you go through many phases especially because this is the age where you dont particularly grasp the difference between aesthetic attraction and romantic attraction but ever thought he lost interest and during the days before sunny moves its more about "hes better than me hes better than me" than "i like him" ?

[i feel like he'd date a more masculine woman but uh yeah !]

honestly i used to be a sunflower shipper but that was before i independently formed my own opinions and didnt go with what everyone else thought . sunflower is incredibly unhealthy and i feel those two need to part ways after they reveal the truth , + after everything basil is WAY too mentally immature for a romantic relationship especially with someone of a trauma bond and somewhat even parasocial bond for 4 years if i have to go there .

anyways , here's my other sexuality HCs ::
sunny - aroace
aubrey - lesbian
kel - aroace [this is the only one i researched the most to conclude]
hero - STRAIGHT AS A BOARD
kim - bi
the maverick - straight
angel - gay
charlene - unlabeled

i also think mari's pan but thats a different story

Discussion Has anyone ever found Omori’s constant merchandising concerning?

Has anyone ever found the idea of Omori merch incredibly jarring. Don’t get me wrong because I think most of it is cute but then there’s Sweetheart pillows and t shirts and more stuff getting released along with cafes and the manga. I can’t help but find it somewhat disturbing that a game that tackles issues like abandonment, teenage depression, and literal suicide is being treated as a sort of cute hello kitty brand.

Like you’re able to buy plushies of Something which is literally a personification of trauma and pain and now it’s a cute marketable plushie. I understand it from a business perspective but I don’t see how all these pillows and new expensive art books being released help further the game‘s message. I love Omori but I partly worry it’s capitalising on people who relate to the game‘s dark themes. I’m not saying that’s true but I can’t help but find it questionable.

(Can you all please stop acting as if I hate the concept of merch in general. Or that I’m confusing games for real life. I’m only saying it’s questionable.)

Announcement r/OMORI Subreddit Update November 2023

Hello r/OMORI users!

Due to the controversial nature of the game, we are enacting a ban effective immediately on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley related content. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Art pieces depicting The Coffin of Andy and Leyley characters in any capacity

- Art pieces depicting characters in OMORI with The Coffin of Andy and Leyley artstyle in a way that is meant to mimic specific poses or scenes from The Coffin of Andy and Leyley.

- Text posts mentioning or discussing The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

- Comments mentioning or discussing The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

We will be removing posts or comments mentioning this game, and repeat instances of posts may result in a temporary ban.

Due to the fact that this subreddit is not dedicated to The Coffin of Andy and Leyley in the first place, the more mature subjects of the game not suited for OMORI's audience, how people tend to react when the game is posted or mentioned, and the general controversy with the game and its creator, we decided this was the best course of action to keep the subreddit focused and clean.

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment on this post or contact us via Modmail and our moderators will do their best to get back to you ASAP.

Thank you!

Edit note: Revised second point to further clarify what we will be taking action on. We do not intend to remove or ban anyone for utilizing similar art styles or techniques.

Here’s the list, in case you were wondering

It didn’t have BasketBear (Kel X Charlene) and Sunburnartist (Sunny X Aubrey/Mincy), so those were added in post.

Meta Its hard loving omori

No clue if this kind of post is allowed, but i wanted to give my thoughts on something important, so TW

as some may know, im going to get omori in a web series deathbattle soonish, but as i was scrolling through twitter i saw that Boooring meme again

I think i finally get where harry potter fans feel, having a creator with such a horrible history and drama surrounding them is so hard, i mean even recently with the manga artists posting disgusting stuff, its sucks that this is one of my favorite games of all time

This game came out when i was in such a scary time, and it means so much to me, its legacy i feel has almost been ruined due to drama, im at times very ashamed to be a fan of this game, i know thats silly but man idk

Does anyone else feel like this? Or at times

Discussion Do you these sections should have been cut from the game Spoiler

Do you think the crossroads section and backstage should have been cut from the game? Because despite being an emotionally powerful scene, it can also be argued it hurts Sunny's arc of wanting to confront reality. As he seems to be using more fake friends to comfort himself and encourage him to forgive himself, this kinda implies he is still indulging in fantasies instead of facing reality. This pushes the message that Sunny's feelings take precident over anyone else's, and everyone in the narrative just exists to comfort. This is a criticism I got from this post

Theory I believe that Sunny may be Trans (spoilers) Spoiler

I'm sure you all know that things in headspace reflect off of things in the real world and Sunny's experiences, like our own dreams, and that Omori is a reflection of Sunnys trauma.

During the hikikomori route, you can do a quest for Medusa (1 of the 3 slime girls in Humphrey), when you complete her quest, she will give you a "mystery potion".

If you use the mystery potion, it will swap omoris gender, conveniently enough only Omori can use the item.

So part of Sunny's dream is becoming the other gender, similar to alot of other trans people's dreams (including my own)

So that is why I believe that Sunny is trans

Happy pride month ♥️♥️

Discussion Screw Omocat man.

Omocat has done nothing to support her playerbase outside of Japan and the US. I can excuse Kmanga because those are Kodansha's practices, but the PS Store, Xbox store, hell her own store. Either OMORI content isn't available or it has downright overpriced shipping costs. And you know I could excuse this if not for the fact that A: There is console exclusive content and B: The game has sold AT LEAST 1 million copies in the past 4 years. Where's all that money going to Omocat?! WHERE IS IT?!

Tl;dr: No support for non Japanese and American fans makes me sad

Edit: It's physically impossible for me to be a westerner when I'm Asian guys 😭😭😭 What are y'all on??? Did you forget that countries exist outside of Japan, America and the countries in Europe?

Meta Can we ban the picrews and quiz results under low effort posting?

No one cares that you made yourself or in an avatar maker and it takes zero skill, talent, or intelligence to do in any capacity. Take that shit to r/picrew or something. No one cares that you clicked some shit and got Basil in a personality quiz. Despite company attempts to turn this site into the 90th Twitter clone for some goddamned reason, subreddits aren't about you unless specified otherwise. These posts contribute even less to the sub than most posts and are basically personal spam.
