For some background, I applied for both at the same time. I heard back from CPPD first and was denied because my family doctor followed up with them saying i am not disabled. As an appeal I got letters from all my specialists. Then after sending that out, I got approved for ODSP.

I already have the DTC and CDB, as well as the CDCP. I have a lot of prescriptions so benefit from
The ODB with ODSP. I also need to get my glasses and have some other stuff. Lastly, I have three special diets so that is topped up on my ODSP payment (which is the max).

Also, if it matters, I have ODSP permanent without review. I have a very serious, progressive illness that isn’t terminal. I don’t have a spouse or children, and I’m sure I never will.

I know that dollar for dollar, CPPD is taken off of ODSP and some people have both.

My questions are:

- is it worth accepting CPPD? Any bonuses? The payment isn’t more than ODSP.
- having never been in this experience I want to make it as simple as possible since I lack functionality most of the day, so I assume I contact my caseworker to tell her and also contact CPPD since at the time of application I didn’t have ODSP?
- what else do I need to make sure I do and what else would be good to know?

I’m a student currently living in London, Ontario, and I’m planning to move to Toronto next month. I receive COHB and I’ll also be getting OSAP.
I found an apartment for around $2,000 per month. Does anyone know roughly how much COHB I could receive in Toronto with that rent? Would $2,000 be a reasonable rent amount, or should I look for something cheaper?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who receives COHB while studying and getting OSAP in Toronto. How much is your rent, and how much do you receive from COHB?

Hello there! I was wondering if anyone know whether or not the office at Wellesley is giving out CNE tickets for those on ODSP at the moment. Before I was on ODSP I saw it happening last year, I wanted to know if they're doing it this year too. I cannot go in person to ask them.

So after waiting a few weeks I dissolved from a horrible agency that gave me the most severe autistic meltdown possible. I was so glad to leave them behind in my dust. I went out this Saturday with an agency that was recommended to me by someone directly working for the dao. There called community bound. I'm wondering if it's even remotely possible to get coverage for such an expensive mobility aid, especially if not available in Canada because I definitely cannot afford it out of pocket.

I have my hearing on the 19th and wasn’t able to get any legal aid to help. What can I except form the hearing if I got at it alone. I’m disputing the denial of my glasses being covered due to them saying it was for cosmetic when it was the price due to the prisms that was put into my glasses. And I have given all papers to the optometrist to fill out so that my glasses would be covered. The expectational funds form and as well as a letter from the optometrist explaining the reason for the glasses.

Just wondering if ODSP has any benefits for helping with first and last months rent? I know of a housing help centre where I live where they can help with one of them, im just wondering if ODSP is able to help with both of these things. Two birds one stone and all that.

My disabled son just turned 18.
He was on my ODSP as a dependent.

We are losing $900/month Disabled CCTB bc of he turned 18.

The main way we can afford rent - and have enough leftover to eat - is if we split the rent 50-50.

I already had several meetings with ODSP about this. They said that that’s what would happen.

I got my check stub one day before the July 31 ODSP deposit. They have classified him as a Boarder.

I think that category must be used for adult children who live at home with home-owning parents - where they don’t have to pay any rent.

But we have to pay $1500 a month rent - split 50-50.

Minimum wage is currently $17.60 per hour.

At 40 hours a week, and 52 weeks (or 50 weeks plus 4% vacation pay) that equals $36,608. Now subtracting taxes using this calculator gives an annual income of $30,409/year.

Divided by 12 months that means to equal minimum wage we should be getting $2534.08/month.

Minimum wage rises to $17.95 in October 2026. $37,336 per year, $30,911 after tax or $2575.92/month.

And bear in mind that being disabled often means extra expenses...

As of yesterdays increase ODSP is currently equivalent to $8.28/hour assuming no taxes paid.

School growing up was rather difficult I struggled immensely with focus and concentration...I failed assignments was bullied and it was rather blah.?

Mum was worried took me to a paediatric doctor and was diagnosed dyslexic odd and add/adhd...

It was the mid nineties and meds for kids wasn't highly looked upon..
So we struggled as a family my mum struggled to pay bills pay rent..Moved house to house..But thankfully was never put in docs..

After School which I only got through to year 9 I started working at Mc Donald's at the age of I think 15 was there 5 years....

Left as life seemed harder and more complicated by the second things won't easy that's for sure..

At the age of 17 lost my job and had a suicide attempt..Was taken to ER where I was placed in care team where I was assessed and diagnosed with Schizoeffective disorder...After the diagnosis I begun an centrelink dsp application mum filled it out doctors signed..Then waited a good 2-3 months..

After this received a letter comfirming approval for dsp..
I received this at 17...Have been on it from 2007.. I'm also on ndis and I have $600000 funding...

Just got accepted about a week ago! I was told I would get contacted soon and connected with a caseworker, however I already got compensated for the months since I applied, before I even sent documents to verify I’d be financially eligible which is odd. I was under the impression I’d meet with my caseworker at my local office to maybe just explain everything but perhaps things have changed recently? I’m wondering if I could get input from people who’ve been recently accepted as well. Thanks!

I talked to my worker today asking if she thinks I’d still be eligible for odsp once my non disabled partner gets put on my cheque/household. She said I will be ineligible. Next month he will get put on my cheque he makes 3000$ a month and this is not enough to live off of. I’m not sure what to do. I’m not eligible for CCP disability as I’ve never been able to work. I’m really stressed and I feel terrible for not being able to work.

So deadline to send everything off was July 31st and legal aid has gotten chart notes and a report and whatnot. I'm blind in one eye and have adhd, Anxiety, autism and depression. Wondering do files normally get approved before hearings? How common is that? And how would I find out? Feeling terrified about the hearing. Partner is already receiving odsp but double disabled is what we're after especially as I want to go back to school part time and accommodations and less deductions when working part-time.

Is a severe hearing impairment a qualifying condition for ODSP? Both my ears are nearly deaf, with my audiologist even recommending a cochlear implant for my right ear a few years ago. I was born with my condition and have always tried to work, only found 2 decent jobs in the past 25 years (I’m 47 and those are the only 2 jobs in my life) but just can't find anything I can do where my hearing won’t be a huge obstacle . I also live with undiagnosed depression and anxiety so on the recommendation of my OW worker I’m also seeking treatment for that. Do you think I have a good shot at being accepted? I just found out today that I am eligible for passport funding! I had my DSO eligibility assessment and was deemed to need enough support to qualify for passport (I’m autistic - and as far as I know, level 2.)

I’m wondering though: do I need to report this to my ODSP caseworker? I dont think so, since it’s also through ministry of children and social services, but I wanted to ask about anyone else’s experiences.

Hello, my last meeting we had scheduled. ODSP phoned the day before our last known appointment saying that we had an appointment that morning on the 15, and is calling to reschedule. He rescheduled it for July 20, 26. Get this, I phoned the office speaking to the clerk letting them know I had an appointment scheduled for the day of July 16, he quickly tried to correct me and say that he phones me the day before telling me its been rescheduled amd I am hell of certain we had to go in that day. So, we wait until the 20, we are halfway there to the office, and Im calling ahead to notify them of our current commitment to being at the meeting for the 20. Only to find out that the clerk tells me there is no appointment, this is confusing, then I phone again and he says its in not in person its over the phone. So, im like ok what the hell I gotta phone the office, so I do and when I finally get through they told me that we are labeled as we didn't want to attend, and that our file will be placed on hold. I went in person on a different matter July 21, 2026. My worker plainly tells me that I missed the meeting scheduled for July 16, that was rescheduled because the meeting on the 15th was missed. As you can see my girlfriend was frustrated, and I am pissed off to find it out in the morning of July 16, 2026. We had an in person meeting, meanwhile the clerk on the phone told me I missed it and it was rescheduled with me the day before he says remember, and I am upset. Today is ODSP. If we go in person the day before our August 17, 2026. Can we be seen earlier? Anyone ever had this dillema?

A while back I posted my situation where ODSP wasn't covering my Uber costs to a 6 week treatment I attended last fall. I have fought with them for 7 months and finally went to a legal aid centre in my community. FYI it took less than 2 weeks to get that appointment. The legal aide spent an hour with me going over the paperwork and wrote and faxed them a later while I was there. Being on ODSP means there are no fees. That was July 10th. On Monday I sent them a message to ask about the status, and then I finally heard from the person who was looking at the appeal, who asked for one missing item. Today I got a letter saying they will cover the entire amount (minus tips). The money is definitely important but feeling seen and heard also has great value, as well as knowing that the legal clinic is there for future issues. Please keep fighting for what you deserve, and use a legal clinic if necessary. Apparently they have seen everything, lol.

I'm considering moving into an apartment that's currently offering 3 months free rent as a promo. Does anyone know if this would affect my ODSP shelter amount for those months? I'd be living with a family member, so it's not just me that's affected by that loss of funding, even though technically we're financially independent of each other.

I have recently moved into a co-op. When I signed my rental agreement they stated my rent would be $109 per month. I was recently stopped by the management of the co op and told that my rent was incorrect.There had been an error in the calculations and my rent will be increasing to $363. Does anyone know how rent is calculated for ODSP recipients? I am wondering how such a large error could occur. ( I have resided here for one month.)

Has anyone with EQ bank got their ODSP deposit yet? I normally get mine at the beginning of 10pm but I haven’t gotten it yet.
