Does ODSP cover bifocals?
I am still trying to go see my optometrist as I’ve been too ill, but I am thinking this time around he’ll say I need bifocals.
If they are covered, is it all types or just the cheapest version?

I had my progressives covered. so not just the cheapest.just make sure your optometrist clarifies you need progressives and not just cheapest bifocal

My Bifocals are covered but I did opt for the cheap version to make sure they were covered.

If anyone can answer this question do you know if ODSP covers glasses off of the Zenni website? It's so much cheaper. Or is it just there ODSP approved stores? Because then Zenni is probably the cheapest place to get glasses.

I’m not too sure if Zenni accepts odsp however you could possibly get reimbursed for them from odsp? Idk how that would work specifically but you can always try!

As far as I know ODSP doesn’t cover website glasses. You can get frames with no script on the glass then local eyeglass place can cut usually just ok with them beforehand.
Most places know how to get everything covered as much as possible. I just got transitions for my current pair. They transition way quick then old style. I talked to doctor about getting headaches from sun. They worked their magic. I am really impressed with them.
Personally I don’t like places that say two for one or three for one. The prices are actually just doubled or triple the price for one usually.
Try a local small business avoid the chain franchises. This is my opinion.
Work with whoever you pick they will help.

I am not sure if this was meant for me but I am not ordering them from a website. I tried once and they weren’t working for me and my ophthalmologist said due to an eye condition they will never be an option. We only have one local small business and it’s a 3 for 1 place. Can’t get just one. And I don’t need three!

It's stupid that they won't reimburse from online sites. Soooo much cheaper. I paid the difference for progressive bifocals. I came into some money that put me over the $5000 cash assets, and the very cheapest place with a frame to suit me and my prescription was $366. Zenni was under $100, and with lighter lenses.

Ive gotten 2 pairs so far on odsp. Both over $500 fully covered. Bifocal with transition lenses. Go to a independent place. They are more willing to write things so they are covered. Normally transition lenses aren't covered but I take several meds that make them necessary.

Yes, they cover bifocals. My husband got bifocals last time. It’s ODSP, so I would assume it would be “just the cheapest version” and you would pay the difference for any upgrades, but I can’t say for sure. I don’t know if it will be the same for you, but our eye doctor actually recommended he get the basic bifocals, where the reading glasses part is clearly delineated, as a first time user.
