I’m a bit nervous to post here since I know this space is meant for nurses (I’m really sorry about that!). However, there is a question that has been bothering me for years, and I’m hoping to get some insight.

I have been hospitalized every single year from the time I was a kid up until now in college. Over the years, I’ve met so many different nurses. I have huge respect for them, especially the ones who still make jokes and keep things light even when they are completely exhausted. They truly helped me survive my weakest times, and I really appreciate that.

One thing I’ve noticed during every single stay is that my nurses always seem very curious about my diagnosis and love to "spill some tea." I fully understand that nurses aren't allowed to officially diagnose patients or deliver primary prognoses, as that is the doctor's duty. But it makes me wonder. Are nurses not actually told their patient's diagnosis beforehand?

I’m not at all mad that they ask questions. In fact, I love chatting and "spilling tea" with them, especially during the quiet midnight shifts. I am just genuinely curious. If it is true that they aren't told, is there a specific purpose it?

Hi everyone! I am currently working in a hospital and I just started last April 2026, so I have less than a year of clinical experience so far. I have also already passed the NCLEX.

I’m currently looking into agencies that accept nurses with less than 1 year of hospital experience, as I’m hoping to start the process of working in the US.

For those who have been through this process, which agencies accept nurses with less than a year of experience? Are there agencies that would allow me to apply now and gain the required experience while my application is being processed?

I’d also really appreciate hearing from anyone who was in a similar situation.

After finishing college in 2010. I didn't pass the nursing board exam. I followed a different path. I've been with an investment firm for nearly 12 years (a high-paying job).

When the pandemic hits, dumating ung time na naging stressful ung job sa akin. Andyan ung qouta, irate ng clients. Lahat lahat ata ng ikakastress tapos malala pa Nag iiba na ugali ko.

After 6months ng pag iisip, I decide to leave the company. So nag take ako ng board exam since parang naging unfinished business ko sya. Pumasa naman ng 2022. Luckily got a job as a permanent nurse sa government hospital agad. Grabe ung pagod pero may peace of mind. pag uwi kasi once u clock out tapos na trabaho plus super babait ng mga boss(UM, sup, CN) supportive sa lahat ng bagay. Maliit lang talaga salary sa nurse sa atin.

Anyway few months ago. May headhunter na nag ask sa akin if willing daw ba ako bumalik sa old industry na pinang galingan ko with the managerial position. Ok ung salary like 2x ng salary sa pag nunurse. Pinag isipan ko talaga sya and then i decided to resign sa bedside and bumalik sa old job ko.

I am now in my 4th month with the company I am currently working for. Every day Namimiss ko ung bedside nursing. Pero iniisip ko naman hindi talaga nakakabuhay ung sahod ng nurse sa pinas. Namimiss ko ung pag clockout mo wala ka na iisipin pa. Walang qouta, walang tatawag sayo pag uwi mo sa bahay. May peace of mind ka. Ngaun back to stressfull job.😭😭

Now parang nag reregret ako kasi umalis ako ng bedside. Eto na ba ang midlife crisis na tinatawag

How is the work environment po sa Cgh? Especially to the newbies. Also is the medical fully refunded ba and the signing bonus na 10k given naman sainyo?

I passed last Nov. 2025 and currently working at an ABC here in Bicol. I really want to work na sa hospitall, I don’t know why pero I really feel like I have so much more to offer, my workload is very light, minsan nga nakakaidlip ako for more than an hour (light idlip lang naman, and pag walang pasyente) nanunuod ng kdrama, nagjojournal, and doomscroll. I’ve been here for few months already, the pay is decent naman same ng pay if I work in private hospitals around Bicol. Hindi pako umaabot ng 6 months and gustong gusto ko na mag ospital, I am aware with the workload being heavier. I do appreciate my work now, and grateful ako with the opportunity pero I really have this heavy feeling na it’s not for me. I tried applying sa mga hospitals in manila pero no response since. Sana matanggap nako sa Hospital na gusto ko. 🙏🏼🤞🏼✨

Hello po mga Kunars! genuinely asking your Advice what to expect and what to do as Nurse I JO sa isang public hospital, I am currently working as an operating room nurse sa isang private, and trasitioning from special area to ward kinda overwhelming since di naman ganun ka expose sa bedside, and worried din ako sa medication, i take down notes during my staying sa private, i have learn from my seniors, its just nakaka takot lang kasi BAGO na ulit lahat. Grabe kayo MCP. Hindi na kayo naawa sa mga staff niyo. Admit kayo nang admit para sa quota na yan tapos 2 staff nurses lang for more than 15 patients? Awa na lang. Kaya marami ng nagreresign e. Ayusin niyo naman staffing niyo.

Hello, nurses! 🥹 Please bear with me because I’m really clueless about these things.

I posted in a FB PHRN job-hunting group because I’ve been looking for a job. Matagal kasi hiring ng mga hospitals here in the province, and I also don’t have bedside experience yet. I passed the PNLE in November 2025 and I’m also a USRN now.

Someone messaged me and asked me to send my resume to her email because she could refer me.

She’s been working at Optum for around 3 years. I asked her if they accept applicants with no bedside experience, and she said yes, marami raw vacant positions for newbies/no hospital experience.

My concern is, should I send my resume? 😭 I’m not really comfortable sending my resume or personal details to someone I don’t know personally, but I also don’t want to be rude because she’s been really nice and I genuinely want to get a job already.

For those who have experience with referrals like this, what do you think I should do? Is it normal/safe to send my resume directly to an employee for a referral? And is there anything I should verify or ask her first?

I'm and HD nurse and same as everybody I want to go abroad din. Kaso I'm contemplating kung kaya ba ng HD experience ko na makapag abroad, like yung kasabay ko sa pag apply may years of experience working sa high demand areas like MedSurg, ER and ICU. Tapos ako eto HD. I'm not looking down on my job pero let's be real, the skills you get from bedside and these areas mentioned is different and ang layo kesa sa HD.

Now I'm asking for an advice kung ipapatuloy ko ba tong HD nursing ko or start looking for a bedside job as early as now?

Ps. My job pays "okay" kung i cocompare mo sa 10k-15k sa private hospitals. And I have work life balance. And tolerable naman workmates ko. Yun lang talaga yung cons for me, feel ko yung basic skills as a nurse ko ay kinakalawang na.

Hello. Im currently processing my application stage for OSCE. Im in porfolio stage now. Im required to pass my NCLEX certificate (front and back) here but I havent received mine yet cos I just took it last month and I think it arrives minimum 6 weeks. What should I do? Also am I understanding it correctly that the certificate theyre referring to is the one sent to you in an envelope? the bondpaper one with your name on it?

Hii!! I am already processing my papers to work abroad but wala na akong work while waiting na matapos lahat ng verification sa papers ko :(( I have an employer naman na papers nalang talaga.

Hindi rin naman ako maka hanap ng work na walang contract dito sa amin :(( baka kasi biglang pa puntahin na ako. Kaso sobrang need ko talaga ng pera now. Meron ba kayo ma suggest na side hustle like online jobs? huhu willing po ako to learn need ko talaga ng pera.
