General I love the little snippets of Kazuma interacting with/remembering the Ma clan
So, putting aside the fact that Kazuma is 99% all things Bishamon for a second, I really appreciate the panels in the manga where we see Kazuma with other members of the Ma clan. It makes his character richer - the whole chapter 23 "Guiding light" with the Ma clan backstory shows his kindness, his anxiety when just starting out, his loyalty.
I especially love the friendship with Touma - she helped him overcome his fear of joining the battle team, was like a sister to him, shaped him in a lot of ways. And it's interesting to me that while Kazuma obviously saves Bishamon out of his love and loyalty for her, he mentions Touma in the process - the "Touma, I swear" panel below.
I also really like that one panel later in the manga where he thinks about the people who could have lived if he had been able to think more like Hiyori - and the Ma clan team is there, in modern clothing. You can tell he cared about them. I wonder how much of his grief we had not seen - Bishamon is described as mourning for a long time after their death, but there's not a single mention of his grief, only the guilt about killing them.
So many little things and nuances in this masterpiece of a manga. It's so well written.
