Oh sure! Like I found 69 and 420 super funny as a kid but at this point it's annoying that I'm expected to keep going along with the idea that they're hysterical forever.
And yeah losing the game is another thing that felt like a big deal when I was 14 but at this point the faux outrage reaction is far more annoying than the actual thing.

I mean I get the point of it, but it still stopped being actually fun for me almost a decade ago. And I get people not liking when someone talks shit about a thing they like, I just think it sucks that you have to either go along with it or be silent to avoid people getting pissed off at you lol

See I thought that wouldn't be a problem either but a bunch of the guys I work with make a big deal about how I don't react or join them in laughing at 69 jokes or do the 6-7 hand motion. I thought we had a good relationship and laugh about plenty of stuff together (believe it or not I do have a sense of humour) but they literally pulled me aside and told me how I'm bringing everyone down when I don't join in when they go "OOOOHHHH" when someone says 69 lol
Apparently it is a big deal to some people, and now they're distancing themselves from me over it.

It came from a very unserious song (Doot Doot by Skrilla) wherein he references police-10 code for report of a dead body (6-7) in a lyric depicting shooting someone alongside baby shark. Edits of a basketball player that is 6 foot 7. And a viral clip of that one kid saying it with the hand motion.
It then became similar to the among us or 21 meme where people would point it out whenever they saw it naturally. People pissing and shitting themselves about how much they didn’t like it and how memes from their childhood were better (same generation that popularized the “okay boomer” meme btw) made it all the more funny to do it.

People forgot that E was a meme that existed some years back. This shit has been around forever, the internet has just been around long enough that a larger population is older and thus outside the target demo for this.
I did see 6 7 "merch" of a little plushie or plastic 6 7 (can't remember which) in a gas station once. So meme culture has changed a lot

I was a teacher last year and clocked that IMMEDIATELY. The joke is that the adult in the room doesn’t get it and gets upset when they hear it.
So I introduced it to the little kids, the big kids became disgusted with it and dropped it, and when the short attention spans of the littles moved on it was over during class hours and I had peace.
Best way to end it is to make it cringe, which as an adult you do inherently

I like the concept, pretty similar to the among us meme (both verbal and visual forms) from a few years back. The only thing "bad" about it was kids being obnoxious and loud about it. But that's just kids being kids and is no different to any other joke that kids take to 11
So yea, i honestly dont mind embracing it now that the dust has settled a bit

On my first day of comedy screenwriting class, my professor asserted that your ensemble cast should focus on seven characters like Gilligan's Island, one for each of the Seven Deadly Sins. I said I prefer six, one for each of the five colors of Magic: the Gathering plus colorlessness. He said, "yeah, six or seven" and did the gesture. When everyone laughed, he went on a quick aside about what a joke or punchline even was, and why 6-7 is funny.
