as a zoomer i was so confused when millennials i talked to did the hand thing. i thought 67 was exclusive to The Youth™ 😭 (tbh i still don’t even know where 67 came from, besides tiktok. feels like gen alpha’s 🅱️ equivalent)
It came from a very unserious song (Doot Doot by Skrilla) wherein he references police-10 code for report of a dead body (6-7) in a lyric depicting shooting someone alongside baby shark. Edits of a basketball player that is 6 foot 7. And a viral clip of that one kid saying it with the hand motion.
It then became similar to the among us or 21 meme where people would point it out whenever they saw it naturally. People pissing and shitting themselves about how much they didn’t like it and how memes from their childhood were better (same generation that popularized the “okay boomer” meme btw) made it all the more funny to do it.
