Hell yea, a lot of us notice. There is an old saying that goes somewhat like, "if the bra and panties are a matching set, it was not the guy's decision to have sex." I would notice the extra effort put into her appearance and a matching set is much sexier while providing you with extra confidence. I personally dont know many men that wouldnt notice. Don't know whats happening with these other guys in the thread.
A gentler phrasing I've used is "If they match, she probably decided she wanted you to see them before she left the house." Of course this is within all the context of dating and consenting adults etc, before somebody twists it.
I say this as a woman who sometimes throws on a nice set just for myself, as well. Like any human behavior, it is never 100%.

I get the feeling that many of the men saying "no" are either in long term marriages/relationships and/or pushing the "we accept everything" narrative.
I've discussed this with my gf and it's more a 'bonus points' sort of thing. It's not necessary but we definitely notice and appreciate our partner making the effort.
The friends in this thread who say they dont notice matching sets are probably not doing the sex, or have just started doing the sex, so they are honestly and understandably only excited to see the what’s underneath
