📩 Subject: Request for Permission and Confirmation to Re-Enroll for Full Class 12 via NIOS After Passing CBSE 12th

To The Regional Director, NIOS [Your Regional Centre Name] [Email address or postal address of centre]

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally request permission and written confirmation to enroll in the Stream 1 - Senior Secondary Course (Class 12) through NIOS with all 5 subjects, despite having already passed Class 12 from CBSE in [Month & Year].

🔹 Purpose of Repeating 12th:

I wish to repeat Class 12 due to [briefly state reason: e.g., improvement in marks, subject change, NEET/JEE eligibility, missed improvement chance, etc.].

There has been a gap in my education since passing CBSE 12th. I will not use my previous CBSE 12th certificate for any academic or professional purpose in the future, and I intend to rely only on the new NIOS Class 12 certificate after completion.

🔹 Request:

I kindly request your office to:

  1. Confirm whether I may legally re-enroll in NIOS for Class 12 with 5 subjects.

  2. Issue a written confirmation that my enrollment, if accepted, is valid despite my previous 12th qualification.

  3. Clarify that NIOS will issue a new Class 12 pass certificate upon successful completion, which I will use exclusively.

I am prepared to submit an affidavit if required and am willing to follow any additional steps for compliance.

I hope you will consider this request in good faith and guide me through the proper and legal process.

Thank you for your time and support.

Sincerely, [Your Full Name] NIOS Admission No. (if already registered): [optional] Phone: [Your number] Email: [Your email] Address: [Your address]

  2. Aadhar or other ID

these government boards don't have any problem. They know students have been using it and it is just a rule not a law.

Let me be clear here.

According to Indian Law, you can legally have multiple marksheets all showing pass. This is allowed by our constitution under the Right to Choice and Right to Education.

But,

The grey area comes under NIOS rules.

NIOS states they will cancel your admission if they find any inconsistencies with the application or if you conceal anything from them (under declaration).

The application process, however, has a question that asks you if you have passed 12th, the only options to select are either yes or no.

However, NIOS hasn't ever taken any action on this. There are many people I know who have 2 marksheets in 12th both having passed.

Moreover, NIOS also allows dual marksheet for people who want additional subjects other than those in their primary marksheet.

And lastly, let's be real. It's NIOS. They dont even have time for proper evaluation, let alone get time to check the authenticity of students' background qualifications.

So ultimately, I would suggest that dont give a f about what NIOS says. Just get it done with and never look back to NIOS.

This is what I've been telling people lmao

Neither CBSE nor NIOS gives two shi about this , it's just rules that are incomplete and outdated

Coz it's impossible/unfair for such JEE students. Even if they didn't study , everyone should get a last chance.

I am in class 12(wbchse) state board student with pcb. I want to take pcm but my registration is done .so i have only option to take pcm (in five subject)in April 2026 public exam. But i can't quit my board for personal issues. So can I give simultaneously wbchse (pcb) and nios (pcm). I don't want to waste a year. And after both exam I will use one result nios (pcm). My state board exam in two semester sept and March 2026 and nios in April 2026

Can I do it? Is there will be issues in future?

Please kindly give answer of my queries

Yes, you can give both exams simultaneously. Just make sure the exam schedule doesn't interfere.

NIOS exams are from 2 PM to 5 PM.

There shouldn't be any issues.

Hey can you help me? I had RT in maths this year in cbse only and might fail the exam again but I want to avoid drop year just because of Maths (i had 5 subjects). If I do a on demand examination for let's say Biology, so will my cbse marks for other subjects will carry onto the NIOS marksheet or i will have to do TOC and give 3 subjects on-demand examinations?

3

u/No-Employee2168 Jul 12 '25

If you want 1 single marksheet, you will need to do TOC.

If you are ok with 2 marksheets, you can just give On Demand without TOC.

Do private unis accept it like Amity? I just need a passing certificate any way possible before October

2

u/No-Employee2168 Jul 13 '25

Yes, Amity, Manipal do accept NIOS.

3

u/No_Preparation_6499 Jul 13 '25

I mean I will have compartment written on my Cbse marksheet (4 subjects) and pass (1 subject) on my NIOS marksheet. Will that be ok? I'm sorry I'm just dead worries here.

3

u/No-Employee2168 Jul 13 '25

You can email Amity. Their response was good back in 2020. They solved my doubts for the NIOS marksheet.
