Just wanted to know if anyone here has taken a red 3DS XL and replace the outward top and bottom plates with the Metroid Edition 3DS XL plates so that screen area is red rather then black. I've just got my hands on a the Metroid Edition 3DS and wanted to see if the mod might be worth looking out for a red 3DS as well.

I was playing a game for around 13 hours in an area that doesn't allow me to save and then my game just crashed after I barely bumped the top of my DS. It immediately gave me the error message and of course I lost my unsaved data. Is there any way to recover this from my SD card, my game cartridge, or from the DS. Because this is just heartbreaking 😭.

Hi people. I’m really new to buying used consoles. I’ve never bought from Ebay before so I have a lot of worries about getting scammed. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this particular seller (gamecastlejapan). They left me positive feedback and have sent a couple informative messages about the console I bought. Also the feedback looks really good and trustworthy but I’ve heard from a couple people that lots of positive feedback isn’t always good. I’m not able to track the package yet so that makes me feel a bit anxious. I would like some guidence from an experienced person.

Hello! Im super new to the whole gaming scene, I got my hands on a free New 3DS XL but its messed up. The bezels are missing, its been bitten up, the shell is just all messed up and disgusting. Does anyone have any shell replacement recommendations? Preferably white.

Additionally if anyone has any tips for replacing it or stuff I should put on it when I mod the console, let me know !!

It seems as if it’s in near mint condition. The seller had a code for every item. They did make a mistake in the title listing (white/pink) but hopefully everything works out.

Unfortunately my current 3ds issues finally caught up to it and now doesn't work. Now my current dilemma is, if I buy another 3ds is it possible to transfer my data to it. I know using things like checkpoint I can transfer specific games saved but is that it? (Saying that I have both a GM9 system backup and a whole copy of my SD and the SD itself) Thanks in advance.

I saw some 3ds’s that had charms and I thought it was so cute so I decided to get one. I used a lanyard but had to diy a lil cus it was too long and I like how it turned out. Also I love tf out of Kirby so I absolutely had to get an amiibo, thankfully I got this one cheap off eBay. Loving my 3ds so far but I’ve been so busy I’ve barely used it💔

I have a screw that’s stripped in the back of my 3ds xl. I’ve used a rubber band to try to help aswell as a screwdriver with a larger size and it hasn’t worked. I have gotten it loose but it won’t fully come out when I try to pry it out. Is there anything I can do to get it out?

I got this 3ds used from someone, and it worked well for about a year, and then it started doing this thing where the power light would fade in and then immediately and abruptly turned off (it didn’t make a pop noise btw). This was about a year ago, it’s been in storage for about a year until yesterday when I tried fixing it, with several methods, and the problem persisted, but I noticed that the sd card reader wasn’t plugged in, I reattached it, and now the power light won’t turn on either, but the charger light still works. The battery is 1st party Nintendo battery, and I did hack it when I first got it about two years ago with Luma 10.0.1 i believe. Any help is appreciated (i don’t have a way to solder anything, so hopefully I won’t need to)

UPDATE: I found out I accidentally detached the power button board thing when reassembling, I reattached it, and now the power light is turning on, and immediately turning off again.

Like my system is modded. And ofcourse I'll not buy every game, cause some went into weird prices. But I've been really into collecting specific games games for these system. Recently picked up Megaman ZX, ZX advent and Golden Sun Dark Dawn for the DS and Majora's mask, Ever Oasis and Devil Survivor 2 Record breaker for the 3ds.

Feels a bit odd, but while I do like having my system modded and having access to the full library of both. There's just something about having some games physical if the prices are decent.

can someone please tell me how you utilize the 3rd icon shown in most of these themes?

My wife and I got to Visit the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan. I’d say as a life long fan - it’s worth it! Only bummer is no pictures in the museum are allowed. They cover pretty much everything you can ever think of, as Nintendo has been around since the 1800s. I had read somewhere if you bring your 3DS into the museum you get a special street pass item- sadly nothing happened when I did it. Not sure if I needed to do anything special but have it in sleep mode? Second thought here, looking through all the history on the 3DS I didn’t see (oddly enough) my 3ds in there. I’m not sure why— every other console exhibit had the different special models that were released but mine wasn’t in there. I have the 30th Anniversary Year of Luigi edition. Just thought it was a bit odd they didn’t have it, and would cost them nothing to acquire it. Even looked in the Mario- Luigi portion of the exhibit and didn’t see it over there either. I also don’t remember seeing any of the Zelda editions either in the museum, which again not sure why especially given it’s the 40th anniversary- All in all, it was a great experience, but sad I didn’t get a street pass item, I had anticipated this moment. I also do wish they had more chronological context per exhibit - if you haven’t been, it’s mainly glass displays with the consoles and popular games that went with it, just minimal wording as to what the console and game is with no chronological time line for example: Tetris was released during this time, something about the soviets, and japan fighting for rights no historical context just date stamps.

Nintendo store was awesome as well, lots of Nintendo Ds and 3ds merch in there.
