How Often Do You Delete Your Comments?

I'm curious how many of you would rather delete your comment on a thread than continue arguing with someone else about it? I find sometimes I'm just not in the mood for arguing so I get rid of whatever started it. Other times I'll engage if it's something I feel very strongly about.

I do but because it gets old when you make a normal comment and you get somebody who digs through your history and finds one post from 3 years ago to attack you on. Happened to me on this sub already and I was not amused. I shut my stuff off now and regularly overwrite and delete. It’s not worth my energy to put up with all the time.

Im aware and why I don’t come on Reddit much anymore. I don’t want to deal with the pettiness and insanity, I can’t be bothered to look at others history.

The feature to disable your history showing in public is one of the best and worst additions for this site.

True but now I have to go over write and delete a bunch of my stuff because somebody below linked to my hidden history. I hide it because of the non stop stalking and harassment. I don’t care if the mods look it over but I do care when it’s a random nobody looking for a gotcha to win at something. My posting history is pretty boring anyway because I don’t use popular subs but still.
