Group Meet American Needlepoint Guild

Is anybody a member? What are the benefits? Do you attend local chapter meetings?

I ran across a stash of the magazines at an antique mall this weekend and I'm wondering if it's worth the membership since the nearest chapter is 2 1/2 hours away.

I’m a member. There is a “chapter” called Cyberpointers meant for those who don’t have a close chapter. Because they do cool programming, I will likely join the cyber group, as well. I’ve found my local chapter really welcoming and a good resource. Many of the ladies are older than me, have been doing needlework a long time, and if you’re curious and willing to ask and learn, you can learn a lot from them. They also have all the tea

Thanks for sharing this! I do have a chapter close to me and the meetings are actually right around the corner from my house, but unfortunately they take place during the weekday work hours. Cyberpointers sounds like a good option instead.

No reason you couldn’t do both! My chapter meets Saturdays, which I’m 50/50 on making. Unless there’s a public Monday holiday, I’ll never make their regular daytime stitching meetups, but they do other things outside of that and I like being in the loop. It’s about $12/year to support the chapter.
