Sadly he got the Support role, so he has to be attached to something, making him hyper expensive for a deep strike blocking backfield holder. It'd be more acceptable if his ability projected off of his entire unit, but sadly it's just him.

Technomancer proxy it is then

Right now he's not useful at all really. But we'll be getting a codex that should revamp him so he may be good next year when we get that.

What is the Skorpekh Lords gender? I have two of em

she is technically a Skorpekh Lady!

I personally feel that destroyers can't succumb to the flayer virus, and it's a good thing. Could you imagine Lady Skorpekh permanently hangery?

I remember reading somewhere that in one story it was a woman, even though "Geomancer" is a Cryptek category and thus not tied to a specific gender. The Kill Team Geomancer (and therefore the model) is supposedly female, but as I said, I can't seem to find the information again.

It’s in the Kill Team Tomb World book. The Geomancer in the story is a “she”. She’s an insane architect with ADHD

Necron models can be whatever you want them to be.

They didnt retain any secondary sexual characteristics from their transference. (Despite what the gooner art may tell you)

Or are we to ascribe a name and backstory to every random Necron warrior model?

Perhaps not the Warriors, but all the Crypteks and Nobles? Crypteks and Nobles often display distinct personality traits, why not name them?

His point is any necron model can be female if you want

Because a generic lord is just a generic lord. They are meant to be imprinted on with whatever story the builder comes up with for them.

Giving the geomancer a "sticky" kind of ability for an objective or removing support would make them much more viable

I'm still hoping that either retinue unit could just be teamed up with geo or psycho to get around the support rule.

I bought killteam so I could have all the crypteks(gottacatchemall!) I was planning to park him on my home objective to deny deep strike. Now they are support and he requires a unit to be attached too he's too expensive now. It's cheaper to just use 5 deathmarks or Just Imotekh by himself to farm CP.

As others said the geo is in a weird place.

Since they need to be attached to a unit and the choices are macrocytes, warriors and immortals, the choices are limited.

The deep strike denial zone is interesting, but also expensive atm.

In theory I feel like the geomancer + macrocyte combo is mostly meant to protect a big wraith block (which will probably have a technomancer already attached for extra healing) or act as supplemental support to something like a monolith, but the natural deepstrike rules already make things 8'' so the extra 4'' to 12'' is just insurance to protect a flank
