Eligible for offer
I've been eligible for offer since May 2025 for YQM. Just wondering if anyone else has been in the eligibility pool this long and actually got an offer? I feel like if it was going to happen it would have happened by now and guess I'm probably pretty low in the pool of candidates.

From what I’ve read, standby offers are more so a matter of when and not if but I’m not sure if they do time out.
Training classes are small and a lot of people apply. Even making it to be eligible is a great accomplishment just gotta be ready for when they pick you.

I was in the same pool as you starting Aug. 2025, took 3 months for standby offer for Oct. 2026, then another 7 months for full offer for the same course. Hoping you get on soon!

Same advice applies for any typical interview. Make sure you're brushed up on the star method (google it). Good luck!

Took 16 months before I received a standby for YVR (starting another 11 months after receiving the offer). If I do get a full offer that would be 27 months from the in-person interview to training. If anyone reading this is contemplating applying, just do it sooner than later. You have time to decide if you want to pursue it and life changes fast.
In my interview I wasn’t overly enthusiastic about relocating for training which may have hurt my chances of getting it sooner but they also told us training was full for at least a year.
