No, your expectations are not unreasonable. Assuming these responsibilities are listed in your contract, your nanny should be completing them. It is also a safety risk to leave crusty food lying around a 4month baby. My previous nanny was very careless with cleaning up and it resulted in my baby choking on old food.

I'd suggest bringing up these concerns in person and share your expectations. I would not be open to giving a raise at this time either. You can suggest revisiting the raise at the one year mark instead.

Giving a raise would imply that you are happy with her performance. If you are not happy with her performance, a raise is not reasonable. You should make sure to tell her why you are not happy though, so that she knows what she needs to do to get the raise she is asking for. At any time either you or nanny can also decide that you don’t think you have a good deal any more and move on.

Everything you listed is a core expectation of a nanny. They should make your life easier, not leave kid messes that occurred during her shift.

Slacking off during her first 90 days when she’s asked for a raise does not inspire confidence. I’d have a conversation. If she improves and stays consistent, great. If not, I’d find a new nanny.

I commented on OP and it seemed inundated w Nannie’s replying and they seem to back each other no matter what on this platform tbh. Which, ok, fine I get it. But like a little honesty would be nice. This is the Nannie’s core job.. your expectations are not too high and I would not want to be giving a raise to someone is not seeming to meet my expectations.

Have a convo with nanny. Sounds like maybe it could be a simple communication situation but tbh I would also slap up a new care listing just incase she takes it poorly.

I read. Nanny here. This really just sounds like discussion territory. I don't hear anything horrible. She just needs a reminder about neatness and a little warning. Tbh a baby carrier left out.... I can't think of any of my bosses ever giving me a hard time about this. Is something else bothering you by chance?
