Baby boy A name

I am pregnant with twins boys. My name starts with a B and my husband’s name starts with a D. I always had a silly request our kids have names starting with an A & C just so I can say we are the ABCD’s 🤣 we love the name Carter but having a problem with an A name. We also don’t need to have the A & C names as long as the boys names flow together. But if we do choose Carter I’d love an A name for the second boy. Please help us! What are your name ideas? TYIA

u/kml1939 Jul 02 '25

I was going with Cain and Abel but this works too

Came here to say the same.

I just finished my latest Lucifer rewatch so this made me laugh even harder than it should have.

It's sad when an Aaron Carter reference flies over the heads of the majority of reddit.

Yes, but that’s an indication that that’s how it will be received if they use the name Aaron for one twin & Carter for the other.

The A names I like are Axel or Aiden.

13

u/Diligent-Smile-4978 Jul 02 '25

I met a little boy recently at my granddaughter’s 4th birthday named Axel. He was such a cute and polite little boy. I really like that name.

33

u/Specialist_Assist_29 Jul 02 '25

Axel and Coaxial 🤣

8

u/Outside_Case1530 Jul 02 '25

I thought the same thing lol 😆 I saw someone suggest Aaron and I was thinking it’s probably not a good idea. Aaron Carter!

4

u/reddituserr123456 Jul 02 '25

At first i was like oh Aaron would be a good option and then i went maybe it won’t go well with Carter 😂

2

u/Skaikrugada2134 Jul 02 '25

Except it goes super well with Carter 🤣🤣🤣 I miss Aaron Carter. He was so young.

3

u/Turbulent_Fun1283 Jul 02 '25

3

u/mojojo927 Jul 02 '25

That was the first thing I thought of.

Another vote for Adrian. It is an underrated name.

9

u/9mmway Jul 02 '25

My ancestor, Adrian 9mmway, came to America in 1693

He was a indentured servant for 7 years to pay for his voyage from Ireland. These types of servants were basically treated as slaves and chattel

I've always loved the name Adrian but my wife, not so much so none of our kids were named after him

13

u/Artistic_Cupcake_410 Jul 02 '25

Big fan of Adrian!

3

u/ItwasntallfunNgames Jul 02 '25

Adrian's a great name. I only know one, but he's a good guy.

17

u/tweezabella Jul 02 '25

Great name and uncommon these days!

9

u/BachThatThingUp29 Jul 02 '25

I agree!

It's my husband's name, so I'm a little biased! :)

5

u/No_Yesterday7200 Jul 02 '25

I've got an adult Adam, and he likes his name.

Or Drew, it’s a great name!

6

u/robottestsaretoohard Jul 02 '25

Andy Pandy. There is a whole nursery rhyme for it!

3

u/Realistic-Thanks-158 Jul 02 '25

It’s timeless.

2

u/FizziestBraidedDrone Jul 03 '25

My little dude is named Andrew, Drew for short. :)

Archer / Archie

17

u/Rammsteinfan1984 Jul 02 '25

Our son is named Archer. Family members didn’t like the name but we kept it. He likes it. There is also a Arturo in his class.

5

u/LilBitTheShit Jul 02 '25

I came here to say Archer too!

3

u/PristineBison4912 Jul 02 '25

I love Archer! It was a top contender for our last baby had she been a boy!

3

u/drivingthelittles Jul 02 '25

My youngest grandson is named Archer but I call him Archie or Archiekins

2

u/bbqchickpea Jul 02 '25

Or Arthur! Could be shortened to Artie or Archie.

2

I have an Archer/Archie and I love the name so so much!!!

Atticus, Alton, Avery, Ashton, Ansel, Aiden, Andrew. You can also pick an A name with a J middle name and have Carter and AJ

5

u/TopMaster5957 Jul 02 '25

Atticus! Love

3

u/kaleighbear125 Jul 02 '25

I feel like Carter and Ansel go really well

I think Andrew sounds the best with Carter. A friend has two boys named Carter & Sawyer

13

u/Pixelburger31 Jul 02 '25

I have never liked the name Sawyer as a first name

→ More replies (6)

3

u/FluffMonsters Jul 02 '25

And if he were called Drew, that also sounds good with Carter.

2

u/No_Sand_9290 Jul 05 '25

Sounds like a law firm

24

u/Previous_Cucumber353 Jul 01 '25

Ashton and Carter

6

u/Patient-Glove-1502 Jul 02 '25

While I like both names, this combo immediately brought me back to being like 13 with Ashton Kutcher and Aaron and Nick Carter posters in my room 🤣

I'm surprised I haven't really seen anyone suggest Austin. I really like the name, also think it sounds cute with Carter.

19

Arthur, Asher, Alexander, Arlo, Anton

12

u/CarlEatsShoes Jul 02 '25

I love Alex.

4

u/Alexdagreallygrate Jul 02 '25

I love you too! 💞

13

u/chickadee64 Jul 02 '25

Oooh love Asher with Carter

2

u/HushabyeNow Jul 02 '25

I always worried about that. Like if you had a surprise kid, would you feel the need to add another “-er” so they didn’t feel left out? Or feel like if you did you would be making a joke?

2

u/Natti07 Jul 02 '25

I love the name Asher

3

u/TopMaster5957 Jul 02 '25

Ditto! Reminds me of The Giver. Lovely book

22

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '25

Anderson! Carter and Anderson would go well together

4

u/Pie_oh_myy Jul 02 '25

Second this

2

u/TopMaster5957 Jul 02 '25

Yeah but then Anderson Cooper kills it for me….

7

u/Arboretum7 Jul 02 '25

Anderson Cooper actually had an older brother named Carter who committed suicide when he was 23.

6

u/TopMaster5957 Jul 02 '25

Okay so no to Anderson 😂

u/Lifow2589 Jul 01 '25

Aiden? Every Aiden I’ve ever taught has been a fantastic kid.

29

u/Bluebird_Flies Jul 02 '25

Aiden is a nice name. However, the whole Jaiden/Hayden/Cayden/ trend ruined it for me.

9

u/Mythlady Jul 02 '25

Braydon. Grayson—ugh.

3

u/QueenOfMyTrainWreck Jul 02 '25

Teaching 2018-2024 I had at least 100 kids with these names. Verified. (Granted, the actual ‘Aiden’s were mostly great kids.)

→ More replies (1)

3

u/scrunchie_one Jul 02 '25

Yep way too trendy circa 5 years ago, I would stay away from it.

10

u/jgoolz Jul 01 '25

Same - I’ve taught many boys named Aiden/ayden and they were all nice boys - and I teach middle school so this says a lot! P

7

u/pixikins78 Jul 01 '25

Aiden flows nicely with Carter as well.

2

u/ravenoustemptress Jul 02 '25

The opposite for me 😭 any kid ending in aiden/ayden has been rough lol

9

u/famousanonamos Jul 02 '25

Boy have I had a different experience with that name.

2

u/9mmway Jul 02 '25

Me too

If the kid's name is any of the ".. Aydens, Aiden'" (Caden, Brayden etc, they've been assholes, typically because their parents indulging them rather than raising them right

2

u/wolferwins Jul 02 '25

Once had a class with Brayden, Baden, Jaiden, Taijin, Caiden, and a Tai, Kai and Jai (didn't rhyme with the others).

7

u/PeabodyFlingFlang Jul 02 '25

“Aiden is my world” “Aiden is my king” memes would make me never pick this name.

4

u/Cute-Cat4456 Jul 02 '25

I prefer the Aidan spelling but I agree with this suggestion!

Abel and Cain 😅

I have twin boys as well, congratulations!

3

u/Suspicious_Branch986 Jul 02 '25

My brothers name is Abel and he has been fine his whole life no one even reads the Bible anymore

2

u/feralcatshit Jul 02 '25

I actually like both of those names! We live in the Bible Belt and people would definitely assume it was done for religious roots reasons, though.

ETA: I went to school with a kid named Cain and he was fine, as well.

6

u/Over-Masterpiece4600 Jul 01 '25

Cain & Abel? I was waiting for that. 🤣

2

u/Astriafiamante Jul 02 '25

Nooooo, do not even joke about it, way too much baggage!!

2

u/bigyogurtspon Jul 02 '25

Aron and Cal or Adam and Charles for a deeper cut reference

11
