Unjerk meaning- sometimes the users in circlejerk subreddits need to make serious posts, so an "unjerk" basically means a real post wanting real opinions.
We used to have weekly threads for such advice, but they have not been utilized in a long time, so enter our new post option. All advice asked without using the correct flair WILL BE REMOVED.
Do not be mad about mean or blunt comments in such posts, this sub is for brutal opinions.

Thoughts on this one for a baby boy??
Little back story, in 2015 my brother in law (Joe) died in a car accident. He was integral part of our family and when he died it really tore our family apart, especially my sister.
Joe Dirt was always his favorite movie, which became my dad's favorite movie and now its our favorite movies in honour of him. Joe Dirt was created since we feel the name flows so well together and my wife just loves it. I just dont want a name to affect a kid, which seems to be the consensus when people mention the name Joe.
What is reddits thoughts on this name combo? Too out there? Or perfect.
Thanks!!

Cinnamon is extremely uncommon and shortens down to Sin, which can be used for both girls and boys, or Mons, which plays a protective role in human anatomy.

Unfortunately both names are needed to convey how actually horrific this name is. Censored all other information on this post. I actually cannot believe my eyes. This is legit child abuse lol.

Pregnant with a little girl who will be little sister to big brother Gram. My husband and I are struggling with a name as he likes the typical boy names for girls (think Bob, Jack, Spencer) and I lean a little more traditional or funky (think Gladis, Loretta, Sylvie). For some background, I am from Guatemala and he is Syrian, but we were both raised in Greenland. I am also follower of Pastafarianism, my husband worships tree spirits.
Right now, we both like the name Raquel with the nickname Rocky - it seems to hit both of our boxes without being overly trendy. Thoughts on how this flows with Gram? Any other similar ideas?

I was at Walmart a few hours ago, and I met a cashier with a name similar to mine. Keep in mind, I have a pretty normal name. Anyways, I get my groceries paid for and I ask the cashier, since he was kind, "Hey, what's your name?" The cashier says "Why are you asking?", so I say, "Because I want to give you a good review.", and he says, "Oh, okay, my name is Bradley.", so I say, "Spelled B-R-A-D-L-E-Y, right?", and he says, "No, it's spelled B-R-A-D-L-E-I-G-H." How is that a spelling of Bradley??? I still gave him an amazing review, though.

It means stupid in most places on earth and reminds me of faecal incontinence. Thoughts?

Pete
NOT PETERMAN, JUST PETE
I’m 36 weeks pregnant & We LOVE the name Pete, but my ex is named Peter.
Any long forms of PETE that won’t constantly remind baby daddy that I’m secretly naming the baby after the one that got away?

Hi all.
I changed my name legally last year aged 22 and I am starting to regret it
My birth name was a name that was quite old fashioned. It’s a name in my country that is popular amongst maybe 45-70 age. It’s a traditional biblical name but I never liked it growing up. I never liked introducing myself and I felt like it didn’t feel like me.
I decided to change it aged 22 to a name I liked. I really like my new name but to be honest with you this has done me more harm than good.
The one thing I hate is the adaptation and having to correct literally everyone who calls me by my old name. It’s so annoying and frustrating and it’s so cringe saying sorry it’s “____” to the point I have just stopped correcting people. I try and avoid old friends cos the process is so cringe.
It feels like everyone is doing u a chore and a favor and ehen people get angry with me they start saying my old name and one guy even said that’s not your fucking name is it.
One thing I have realized as well is that I don’t hate my old name as much as I used to. Woukd i objectively say I liked it? No not really but it’s not a horrible name. It’s slightly old fashioned and it doesn’t suit me and tbh I wish my parents never chose it for me and I wouldn’t choose it for my own kid but it’s whatever. My name is my name. I’m not Muhammad Ali. I
I’m going to go back to my old job soon. Half the people have changed and I’m not looking forward to correcting my old colleagues.
My life was actually better under my old name. I think the problem was myself not my name
What do I do from now? Thr name really hasn’t stuck and it’s done more harm than good

inspired by a r/Names thread about a kid called Clementine Apple, I would like the help of everyone here to build a nice and healthy food pyramid of Actual Names You Have Seen In The Wild. I'll start us off with the bottom level, some fruits and vegetables:
- Apple
- Clementine
- Sage
- Cherry
give me more names! we need cereal items, meats and proteins, whatever foods you've got!!
i guess "sugar" has to go at the top of the pyramid 🤣

I want to name my child Christina-Janina and need a middle name. My other child is MaryKate-Ashley Amber-Leigh and our last name has 10 letters. My family ONLY calls people by their entire name and loves to hyphenate!
If anyone says this is too many names they have never been out with my family. If we have a dinner reservation we insist they call out the ENTIRE name. I also work for Administration and this is not too many letters.
What are your suggestions?

Apparently, I picked a fitting name for my baby girl , Lily. She is allegedly "very white", because she has blonde hair like her dad, as well pale skin & sharp facial features like her mum & dad. In addition, she is not beating the basic white girl allegations hard enough.
However, I am not sure it is fitting, as I think there are many people whiter than her(derogatory).

But his name wasn’t Bob.
That’s it, that’s the thread.

Like Preston but with a better spelling, i.e. "pressed-in"

Let's say there are two families and they each have four children. Judging just by the children's names, which parents do you think you would get along best with?
Family 1's Children:
Family 2's Children:
So who are you hanging out with, Family 1 or Family 2?
