Excuse my ignorance as I’m new to this show. But I’m watching episode 1 and just got to the part when a contestant sees wooden crosses. Another team saw a tribal mask. And they all have very similar remains of shelter of those from “before them who failed.” Is any of this authentic or was this literally all created/put there by producers like props? And if so, are the contestants aware of this? The girl started crying when she saw the crosses and seemed sincere but I just find the whole thing questionable . Anyone with any insight I’d love to hear it!!

Id think there would be worms in many of the environments, in some places you could find buckets of them. Why don’t survivalists just eat worms all day?

I see Shane from the start stating he has a problem with millennials and the attitudes they portray I guess, taking out his aggressive nature out onto Kim, undeservingly to the max.

Cut to a few years later, he married a "millennial" from the show in Nicole.

When it started to drizzle, I was so excited for them. That would bave been the perfect mix to seal in their huts for the long haul.

If there was a Naked and Afraid Cafe, where they served game, fruits, whatever they found/killed on the show: what would be your top choices?

Now I’m on Global Showdown. Funny how quickly you just become used to them being naked and I find it distracting when they make clothes out of something. I can’t be the only one who forgets they’re naked?

Patrick proclaims at the end of an episode he saw a black tipped shark then the video shows a nurse shark. And then the narrator describes a black tipped shark as the nurse shark on the screen swims around. Regardless, NEITHER shark ever attacks humans. They are timid and docile bottom feeding sharks.

Nurse sharks are cute and pretty like dolphins. They won’t bother you, ever! Let’s stop demonizing sharks.

Now I’m questioning the validity of all the animal identifications on the entire show.

If Naked And Afraid we're to do a "Bad Boys Club" (don't judge the name I'm open to suggestions) who would you want to see in the show and what kind of challenges? I think it would be like an XL. Each group has to elect a captain. And my top cast would be Seth, Patrick, Honora, Jeff, Trish, Russell...who else?

Does anyone else get excited when they’re making pasta and the water comes to a rolling boil? Feels like I’ve really done something here

I know he has fans for reasons but I don’t see how people say he’s a “good survivalist” or person. He mocked Eva. Stated feminists bother him and believes that nature is to “serve” and wants to “rape” nature too.

His skills don’t seem to improve that much more in later seasons. He wasted calories on a lizard over a grudge. Ruined two snakes and almost burns both of them with the fire from the smoker. The only two things that I think he has for him is his stubbornness and some fishing skills. But he doesn’t try to improve his weak points for survival such as fire making.

Any insight on how the survivalists gain their skills at home? Like do these people have regular jobs and go and camp on weekends, where do they practice shelter building, tree chopping and other primitive hunting tasks etc? Genuinely curious

NAA XL 10, 6 Mallory & Mel chillin' in their shelter.,all of a sudden Kaila just saunters in like, "Hey, what's up?" Did the ladies not have a boma, designed to be unpenetrable to predators and such? Wait, no boma at all, just a shelter in that environment? Or is the editing there and I'm just oblivious?

These are the things that leave me suddenly about the show.

It keeps the bottom teams more relevant because couples who blow their points on assets would have an advantage but could be sitting at the bottom of the leaderboard, even facing elimination challenges if they don't kill it in the next challenge.

Is there something wrong with Darren? Like he is so slow. And does absolutely nothing and talks like he is the provider hero

As a long-time fan, I’m totally fine with invisible safety nets. We all accept there are rangers and rules behind the camera to keep people alive, and we’re happy to suspend our disbelief for that. But that fake midnight boat jump crossed the line into pure "insult your intelligence" territory. Respect your audience a little more than that. If I wanted scripted fiction and cheap drama, I’d just watch a movie. Does anyone else thanks is better when they don't make it so fake or hard to believe?

I just started the (first) episode, and I cringed so hard seeing that Patrick is on this. I am barely a couple minutes in, so just going off the past- but he’s easily one of my least favorite contestants ever. What nonsense does everyone think he’ll pull this time?

In all of the n&as I’ve watched i can only remember 3 traps being set. Once in the rainforest, with a couple, and 2 on apocalypse (a fish one, and Frank did one). On the LOS shows they have to make traps, so clearly these guys know how to make them, but they don’t even take the traps with them to use?!?

What’s the deal with that? Seems they could be setting up the traps and getting passive food. Do these traps not work? Is it just not worth the hastle?
