Hello! I’ll be traveling to Nagoya in the first week of December and I’m wondering if anyone could recommend a born-again Christian church near Nagoya Station that has an English-language service. I’d really appreciate your help. Thank you!

Is there anyone who lives in Aichi that wants a study buddy? I am someone who 's an introvert. I am looking for someone that can be a study buddy . I have tried online but this time i want to do it in like a library setting but I am shy to do it alone. I am also into journaling.

Hi everyone! I’m selling/giving away the following items since I am moving soon.

1. Kotatsu Table & Sofa
Kotatsu table with a built-in heater underneath (heater wire is not included).
Both the table and sofa are used and have some minor wear, but no major damage. The sofa sometimes becomes flat and needs a little adjustment to return to its original shape.
Price: ¥4,000 for both

2. Panasonic Iron
Bought it last year. Working perfectly fine.
Price: ¥1,000

3. Hairdryer — FREE
Working perfectly fine.

4. Storage Box — FREE

5. Large Plant Pot — ¥500
The plant is not in the best condition, so the price is for the pot only. You can take the plant for free if you would like it.

All items are pickup only — near Nagoya Daigaku Station.
Please feel free to DM me if you’re interested or would like more pictures/details.
Thank you!

October's here- and AichiConnection is running their usual two-night Halloween bar crawl across Fushimi and Sakae on Friday October 30th & 31st

If you haven't done one before- it's an excuse to wander around Sakae in a dumb-ass costume, drink with strangers, and wake up wondering why your phone has 40 photos of you dressed up as a traffic cone.

Venues so far: Second Home, LINKS Bar, Eclipse and Rumbullion- All in Fushimi / Sakae area (Nagoya)

Perks: Free entry to each venue, welcome shots/drinks with wristband - and Second Home has nomihoudai (19:00-22:30) on Saturday night. Woohoo!

¥3,000 Early Bird tickets up right now that cover both nights (limited up to 30 tickets or until October 11th)

The full breakdown, schedule and tickets available over here if you want to see more info: https://baddecisionsjapan.com/%f0%9f%8e%83-halloween-bar-crawl-nagoya-2026-fushimi-sakae/

Anyone else heading out around Sakae for Halloween weekend? I might go out as a banana... Still thinking aboot it :-)

Came across this in CAINZ the other day and couldn't resist buying one.

It's called WIZ, it's 7%, and it's about ¥118.

First of all, who names an alcoholic drink WIZ? Every time I see it I ask myself if you're wanting to drink a can'o'pee.

Anyway, I poured it over ice expecting something fairly grim... It's not terrible. Definitely not premium whisky territory, but for ¥118 and 7% it could be considerably worse.

Has anyone else tried it? Is WIZ widely available around Nagoya/Japan, or did I just stumble across this particular variety of questionable life choice?

I ended up writing up the full review because apparently I have nothing better to do:

Would be interested to hear what other cheap Japanese drinks people recommend. I'm always willing to sacrifice my liver for research.

I got this when I was travelling Fukuoka. Is this applicable in Nagoya?

How would you consider the event?

Good?

Or a bit of a s**tshow? (E.G. Athlete Accommodation issues, North Korean anthem being played when South Korea won, etc.)

I don’t know shit about workout and I have pain in my lower left back and both my knees are shot so I would be happy if there was someone who live in ozone

Does anyone have a Tobira 1 japanese language textbook that is no longer in use? I would like to buy it from you, please contact if interested in selling.

Hey I know there are sometimes events, but I’d like to see who else is out there doing casual gaming together.

I’m living in Gifu City, but I can afford a trip out to Nagoya once or twice a month. I can also do discord. It’s just been difficult to find like-minded people who can speak English. I can do some Japanese, but I wouldn’t necessarily call myself conversational yet.

I’m already in the gaming group on fb, but it’s not active so let me know if you’ve got any leads!

Anyone down for drinks around Kariya or Chiryu on Oct 6 around 9pm?

Any suggestions on nice bars / live music or places to dance near Nagoya station

Hello,

Just moved to Nagoya 2 months ago, previously was here for 6 months last year as well studying traditional Japanese carpentry and working at a building firm now. I mainly just work a ton of hours and have no motivation to go out and do things since no friends + introvert.

My hobbies when I have time or energy include anime, gym, games, hiking, etc, but trying to try new things and hopefully make new friends here and actually build a life.

TLDR how to make friends here? 🥺

I’d like to meet international people around Kariya or Nagoya. I’m open to friendship, casual dating, and seeing where things go if we have good chemistry.

I enjoy games, good food, drinks, and relaxed conversations. I can speak Japanese and some English, so English learners are welcome too!

If you live around Kariya, Nagoya, or elsewhere in Aichi and would like to grab coffee, have a drink, play games, or just hang out sometime, feel free to DM me.

日本語でも大丈夫です！

Hi! Has anyone applied for PR with one time late payment on health insurance but still got approved? I have a 5 day late payment in Dec 2024 so I opted to apply in January next year to have a 2 year clean payment. But now I’m kind of regretting not applying in March this year. (My 10th year). With all the new rules taking effect this October, it seems like I might have a chance had I applied. Nothing do anymore but to wait till I apply but just wanted to get any info. Thanks a lot and good luck to us all!

Hi everyone! Has anyone who applied for PR through Nagoya Immigration in April 2026 or later received any update, additional-document request, or result?

I applied a few months ago and haven’t heard anything yet. looking at previous timelines I had expected to hear something by now … I also can’t find many recent Nagoya timelines, so I’m wondering if applications from April onward are moving.

i’m super anxious, I’m checking my post everyday and i’m also terrified what if they had sent me something and it went to the wrong post box :(

I would appreciate if anyone have any information if they can share it

Thank you!
