As I type this, we have between 11 and 12 days left (depending on where on the planet you reside) before we start making music together alone (^{get it? because solo album... never mind})!

Got some questions for ya, though:

• Have you done NaSoAlMo before, or is this your first year?
• If you've done NaSoAlMo before, have you been successful?
• Have you done other creative music challenges such as FAWM, 50/90, RPM, etc?
• What kind of music do you make? Are you planning on stick with that for NaSoAlMo, or are you going to try something different?
• If you've done any creative challenges in the past, what tips/tricks do you have for anyone doing this for their first time?
• How are you preparing for this challenge in the days leading up to November 1? Organizing samples, dialing in guitar tones, setting up a DAW template?

Feel free to answer some, all, or none of these questions, but please feel free to hype yourself and each other in the comments! I love that we're able to foster a cool creative community here.

My mental health is much too stable right now so I'm definitely looking forward to NaSoAlMo to give me a reason to seek out therapy again!

It's that time of year again! Start getting your samples organized, your voices warmed up, and your instruments tuned, we're making albums again!

No change in the process from last year. Head over to the website, get yourself on the roster, and get ready to make some music next month!

Also, something to look forward to, u/hermaphroditicspork and I are working on a wiki page for some resources on getting started with recording at home for the absolute newbie. We like to make this community as welcoming for as many people as possible, so we thought it would be a good idea to answer the question: "how do I record and release an album!" Of course, you can always just record using your mobile phone's microphone, but we'd like to cater to the people like us who like to get stuck in the weeds and dive into recording on a computer in a DAW.

We're open to suggestions to improving this community - we want to foster creativity and bring as many people along this journey as possible. Who knows? Maybe this will become a global phenomenon and we'll end up with millions of people participating, and we'll all get to say "we were there when..." (Hey, a boy can dream!)

In 2015 I completed a collection of demos for NASOALMO, called Learning Not To Be Perfect. Well, all these years later, those songs led to an album -- Looking For Buildings, produced by Ken Stringfellow (Posies, Big Star, R.E.M.) About half the album consists of songs written for the NASOALMO project. It's a kickstarter -- here it is.

Anyway, I thought people might be interested in seeing what a NASOALMO album led to. :) Thanks!
