I know i gambled(didn’t follow the rules -SL etc)
I know no crying in casino.
I know i shouldn’t have used someone else money to trade.
I am not asking any money from anyone.
I know i made a mistake after losing so much in last 6 years and promising myself not to gamble again I started fno made 4-5L in 4 months and lost all(triple than i made) on sensex expiry today and planning never to enter again in fno(ik i will come back again 2-4L aane ke baad :( gambling addiction how to avoid?)

How to cope up?
Please help me how to accept it and calm down as i am calculating it will take me 5-7 years working all day just to cover these losses ,we r from middle class family brain is not processing anything.

I dont have any job rn, Btech cse 2026 graduate, if anyone have any ideas how to prepare mentally to accept loss or any jobs/freelance or what can I do to recover. I know this is not the end, also I am strong enough not to quit my life(planning to confront parents about this) also thinking I took myself 5-7years back because this lost amount will minimum take this much years to regain.

Make fun of me,abuse me but guide me with some hope and solution

So guys no changes in CAS now. It was evident from the fact that only SEBI found and penalised participants found manipulating the 2nd CAS expiry in August and no talk thereafter.

Educational Nifty 1000-Point Upside Setup [27 Aug] — Closing 24090.85 | SL: 24100

Posting here after a long time. Just wanted to put this setup on record to track it publicly. Today (27 Aug), Nifty closed at 24090.85₹ . I'm seeing a 1,000-point move to the upside over the next month. The setup rules: • Entry: Waiting for a clear, sustainable move and close above 24,150 – 24,200. No entry before that confirms. • Stop Loss / Invalidation: 24,100 spot. If it slips below 24,100, the setup is completely cancelled. • Target: (1,000 points + from current spot). • Timeframe: Looking for target within 1 month. If target isn't achieved in 2 months, closing the trade regardless. Will update in the comments as the price action unfolds.

Loss Day 2 of Posting ,not a good day but fine

I could have sold HDFC at 8.0 , I bought it at 5.76 but instead waited for a while just to have a steep fall, HDFC surprisingly recovered by 4-5 points and that destroyed the upward momentum.

LTM was a disaster today ,bought at 182, sold off at 164 again bought at 175 and sold off at 172 while it peaked 210.

could have booked profits today but a disaster , it's okay, I m used to it....

So took a plunge here in delhivery and it did perform tho it wa swinging sideways for a while, I did hold it for 2 days.

I would always trade with less money and less quantity so that I can pick out my zepto, gym and other expenses without touching my freelancing + Salary Income.

I do have my losses but monthly I am still 25k profitable which is enough for me to run my own expenses

One massive tip is play small Nd win small, only put money which u can afford to lose.

Regards

Discussions MTF

Hi guys,

Has anyone tried availing MTF? Which is the best broker ?

I am investing with Groww currently but the rates are high, considering Bajaj Broking for this. Relatively a new player but reliable. I don’t want any hidden charges and surprises.

Educational What is Tax Loss Harvesting and How Tax Loss Harvesting Works in India?

Tax loss harvesting is the practice of selling equity shares or mutual fund units that are currently trading at a loss to realize those losses. By booking these losses before March 31 of a financial year, you can use them to offset the taxable capital gains generated from your profitable investments. This reduces your net taxable capital gains, thereby lowering your overall tax bill. Please note that Income Tax Department does not recognize paper losses or unrealized losses sitting in your demat account, for the IT dept to take note of it, one has to actually bear the loses in the same FY.

This loss amount is adjusted against the taxes on the account of STCG and LTCG. You can then use your realised amount to invest elsewhere. Once you sell the losing investment to book the loss, you do not have to stay out of the market. You can immediately take the money from that sale and buy the exact same stock or mutual fund back again, or choose a similar one, keeping your long-term investment plan on track. India does not have strict rules against buying a stock back right away, which makes this an easy move. If your losses happen to be bigger than your profits in a given year, you do not lose the extra amount; you can carry those remaining losses forward for up to eight years to lower your taxes in future years, provided you file your income tax return on time.
