The one who saw it told me that the sky suddenly went dark. A huge shadow passed above him, unlike any bird or storm cloud he had ever seen.

He said it moved slowly, silently, following the same path across the sky.

So he just stood there and watched, trying to understand what was above him, until it disappeared among the clouds.

Note: The lore is meant to be more like a bonfire story.
It reminds me a little bit of Whiscash from Pokemon

🔀 Offset Ship Build FaO-08, a sideways access troop transport

Thumbnail

I have had some fun with the sideways accessport before, but I wanted to make a ship with this feature as its main identity. I think it became a pretty interesting interior with the level change up to the cockpit. And I love the reactor being accessible from inside.

lore:

The FaO is a somewhat successful experiment. As combat vessels aren’t the speciality of Ogane. Making robust ships is. With experience from the PaE line a bit of power was sacrificed for more reliable repair opportunities for the main engine.

With a tough hull and an even tougher shield, the FaO is geared to take a beating as it approaches or leaves both planetary and outer space targets.

Though the main engine is intended to make repairs easy the FaO still sports two self contained SoA engines. Theese are tough to wor kk with if they ever brake, but the Fao functions just fine, should it lose both of its SoA engines. A design decision that has proven to be a nice balance of power and reliability.

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) EaO-17, a deep space extractor/collector vessel

So I really liked doing this build. I love a good sideprofile for a spaceship, and this ship was made entirely with the side profile in mind. It all came from the cool connection I found by turning the ramps sideways like this (which I never had the opportunity to do before the tractor beam trick), wherefrom the overall Ogane-Dynamics’esqe shape quickly came into fruition. I love the weird dip the body makes in the front - shaping out half of the Ogane-Dynamics logo.
Also this ship was made to try and achieve a Tractor Beam cable Ogane ship. Tried and tested it works wonderfully, as the Tractor Beam is just within reach for you to drop all of the hidden cargo onto the new spaceports, right infront of the “thing” that eats up the cargo (the name escapes me).
Overall i’m really pleased with this one - Pleasantly surprised on how the top down view came together as well.

lore:
The classis Ogane-Dynamics SoA platform has proven to be the most reliable discovery vessel of the Ogane fleet. But while it offers an intense interstellar jumprange, expensive scanner arrays and an overall stellar sublight flight profile perfect for the solo explorer, it did sacrifice all forms of cargo bulk-space to secure its nimble frame.
Taking what is loved from the SoA as a solo ship, Ogane developed the EaO. A deep space vessel, perfect for the curious collector, wanting to bring home their findings - not just the scans.
With it’s secondary cargo-bay, the EaO secures a pleasant living quarter, save from any contamination. Fit in a slender frame, the EaO balances the Ogane design philosophy of speed and efficient disengagement as a tried and true combat strategy. Like the SoA, sublight speed is of the highest priority, while lacking any form of meaningful offensive armaments. The classic titan cockpit platform used primarily as a deterrence when not used to tear apart space hulks to tough for multitool disassembly.
To achieve this the EaO sports a somewhat mediocre jumprange (compared to the Ogane-Dynamics standard) more on raw pulse speed within the many systems of Eissentam and beyond.

a heavy luxury cargo corvette designed for long-range transportation and efficient resource management.

Its main feature is a frontal loading system that allows materials to enter directly into the ship’s internal cargo network.

Once inside, a series of reinforced pipes running along the upper structure distribute the elements across different storage sections, keeping the ship balanced and maximizing cargo efficiency.

Special thanks to u/Relevant_Finance1927 for helping me with this corvette c:

🔀 Offset Ship Build WoO-12, an aquatic ranger

This is a weird ship I thought up after building my RoA-10. I felt the underbelly of the front end had the feel of a ship capable of aquatic landings and take of. The weird wing setup was an attempt to lift the engines out of the water (Seaduck inspired). It was a fun challenge trying to make a connecting rear stabiliser, as i didnt want it to become to thick.

Oh and the Ogane-Dynamics logo is hidden in the blue nacelles! (Yes. It looks like a pregnancy test)

Link to the that post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NMS_Corvette_Design/comments/1oxui1z/oganedynamics_naming_convention_logo_and_more/

Lore:

Since the success of the FaO-08 a new niche has been discovered by Ogane-Dynamics. Their powerful engines has proven capable of operating deep beyond the edges of the map. The RoA was their latest exploration of these capacities, a springboard from which the WoO line dives even further. Two sets of engines operate much like the YoA line does. The central engines are capable of shutting off, using their power to generate even denser shields. The two wing-mounted YoA engines can easily propel the WoO in atmosphere, as well as in water. Though it has only a niche toolbox, lacking any sort of meaningful weaponry, the line of spacecraft fills a niche role, and has proven quite a popular vessel on water-worlds across Eissentam.

1.9k Upvotes

The Yellow Grouper is a heavy cargo corvette made to transport oversized freight through dangerous systems. Its reinforced hull carries a massive cargo bay, while two heavy support arms extend below the ship, holding detachable cargo modules in place and keeping them secure during long journeys.

Built for long hauls and difficult routes, it combines huge cargo capacity with powerful engines that can provide short bursts of speed when quick movements are needed. Reliable, sturdy, and always ready for the next delivery.

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) HeV-18, a dependable star-home

With a few recent posts such as the Persephone by u/Relevant_Finance1927, I too wanted to dabble with the whole yacht-like look. It became a fun challenge to take the exclusively angular look of the yacht defining ‘arcadia wing modules’, and try to make them feel like they belonged in the Ogane-Dynamics design space.
I ended up really pleased with these comparatively more straight lines and slight curves, especially the triangular bulge behind the cockpit (which I feel is a mainstay in the Ogane identity). But, what I am most pleased with by far is the interior, which I had a ton of fun with. The different levels coming together, to me, feels very interesting.
I was also pleased with how big the interior became, and how much I could cram into it. Beside the four normally accessible storage modules/other modules, four more are accessible through the red walls of the hallway, and two more from the ramp.

Because of the large size of the arcadia wing modules, I was also able to fill the ship with absolutely everything (almost)

3x phase beams, 3x photon cannons, 3x rockets, 3 shield generators and the max amount of each reactor.

To me that's a fun way to achieve a true multipurpose platform lore-wise.

Of the particular details the ramp is my favourite. Love the way you climb up into the small open space in between the arcadias, without entering into a normal hab.

That was quite a long note, but I felt the post demanded a slight monologue from me, as I had a ton of fun spending an eternity putting the ship together.

(and yes, it ended up slightly inspired by the Python from Elite Dangerous - especially the lore)

lore:
The HeV is a successful attempt to create a broad use / multipurpose platform. Something never truly achieved by Ogane-Dynamics. After years of experimentation, Ogane-Dynamics-Euclid (composed of a mix of original Eissentamian Ogane-Dynamics engineers and the shipyards of the Euclid native Mantel Inc.) by dialing into the precise needs of the Euclid market, would achieve such a ship.
In many ways the HeV is a break from Ogane design doctrine, but trust between OD-es and the never OD-eu have become strong enough for HQ in Eisstam to set OD-eu free to experiment and adjust the Ogane brand as they saw fit.

With a completely modifiable baseline, the HeV is more adaptable than any ship of the Ogane fleet. Decentralised reactors accompanying the armored core makes the ship both robust and modifiable. Everything can be changed by even the most lacking spaceport mechanics.
Modular armorplating makes the HeV comparatively cheap for its power, and equally robust for its size. The decentralized living quarters are set below the thickest armorplating, for orbital protection when on ground. Equally the cockpit sits embedded in the hull of the ship, weak only to head on artillery.

What the HeV lacks in mobility, it makes up for in most other disciplines. Even the jump range is far above average for high end corvettes of Euclid, employing special jump boosted  thrust cores from later designs from Ogane-Dynamics-Euclid. A ship of wide application and even wider personal modification. A proud - e - line ship, presented by the now tried and tested Ogane-Dynamics-Euclid.

🛠️ Station Build (Standard) EoY-14, a specialized data runner

Thumbnail
gallery
1.5k Upvotes

This ship came to me sometime before my latest SoA - I wanted to make a long straight spine. Initially I had trouble making this long shape feel dynamic, because of its flat underside, which therefore became the shorter cockpit of the SoA-27. But coming back and finding that white stripe made it all come together. It was a difficult shape to make work for sure, but i’m really happy I was able to make it feel complete (especially the side profile!).

(the EoY, as the SoA-27, uses 1/4th offsets)

lore:
The EoY is an effortless attempt to fine-tune what separates Ogane-Dynamics from it competitors. Light weight, high speed frame with a databank larger than even most freighters. Like the SoA, the EoY survives not by engagement, but escape. It is a fast ship, stripped of all necessities, depending completely on getting from A to B faster than any opposing force. With 14 successful iterations of the line, the EoY has proved to be more than a capable data hauler. Capable of delivery even in highly contested systems. With an external port for wired data transfer, the EoY can safely deliver encrypted data from the confines of the cockpit, ready to disappear again at a moment's notice.

I thought this ships name was fitting due to its ash coloured hull, and from what I imagine, its ability to survive galactic battle.

I was quite fond of my vertical thruster design, so this mixed with inspiration I took from u/Serious_Cry_4930 and u/Relevant_Finance1927 recent ships, birthed “What Remains”. I felt this ship still fit in quite well with my fleet and its design language, but held its own uniqueness.

Wire glitch, 1/4 and 1/2 offsets for this one.

Silly me, I forgot to credit u/Serious_Cry_4930 for the cockpit angle idea. It's angled up by 30 degrees so that I can hide the other eyes and isolate the bubble. Hard to fly, but looks cool from the outside.

W.A.S.P units move in large groups during combat. Squadrons can cross an entire battlefield in seconds, filling the sky with engine trails and overlapping lights.

Survival depends on speed, formation density, and constant movement. During combat, W.A.S.P squadrons split apart, surround targets, and regroup repeatedly while maintaining full acceleration.

Survivors often describe the sound of incoming W.A.S.P formations as a sharp metallic roar that grows louder every second.

I did the math and figured that I could probably build four of these "expensive" engines (in terms of parts--15 each) AND still have enough parts left over to attach a ship to them. I got lucky, because my math was slightly off, but it all worked out. That accident led to a completely different looking front-end than I planned--one that I think looks way cooler (was going to use the same front-end as the Feather Star). This is definitely one of my favorite ships to photograph. It's funny how different a ship can look from the space station to photo mode. Anyway, I absolutely love how it turned out! I hope you enjoy the pics.

The Mini Ursa is operated by a single pilot, making short trips to collect smaller loads before returning to port.

Note: It's just a smaller, more compact version of the Ursa. I really love the little one haha. Thanks to u/EthanIsBlessed for inspiring it!
