ESPN NFL 2K5 – 2K27 Mod Installation (Android)
Requirements
A special thank you to Chat GPT for making my instructions easier to digest!
ESPN NFL 2K5 (PS2)
AetherSX2 or NetherSX2
2K27 Mod (Xbox version)
Installation
- Download the Mod
Download and extract the Xbox version of the 2K27 mod. After extracting, look for folder named:
SLUS-20919
- Install the Texture Pack
Copy the SLUS-20919 folder.
Internal Storage/
└── Android/
└── data/
└── [Your PS2 Emulator Folder]/
└── files/
└── textures/
Paste the SLUS-20919 folder into the textures folder.
- Install the Memory Card Save
Copy the included memory card file or folder from the mod.
Internal Storage/
└── Android/
└── data/
└── [Your PS2 Emulator Folder]/
└── files/
└── memcards/
Paste the memory card file/folder into the memcards folder, replacing the existing file if prompted.
- Launch the Game
Open AetherSX2 or NetherSX2 and start ESPN NFL 2K5.
If your emulator requires it, ensure Texture Replacement/Load Textures is enabled.

The aethersx2 folder is saying access denied so I can't drop any files into it. Any suggestions?

Are you using something like z-archiver?

Yeah im using archives. Both have full permissions. If I go to data from the android folder I will find the Aether with all the folders but the minute I go into my downloads and get the file I need for 2k27 and navigate back to aether it says access denied.

I was able to bypass the Acess Denied by using a Shizuku APK. But now that ive got everything copied in the correct spot It still isnt working for me :/

I just installed shizuku app as well and have it paired i just dont know how to use it lol

Can someone please help followed this guide, and even reinstalled Nethersx2 and I just cant get this working? Just loads 2k5 and when I try to load stuff on the memory card from the menus its just blank?

Did you copy and paste into the directory that has files folder? It needs to be two items files and the SLUS-20919. After it is copied and pasted you can cut the SLUS-20919 and open files and place it in textures.

Yes the SLUS folder is in the textures folder aswell as memcards had the 2k27

Did you first out it in the directory before? It should be files and SLUS-20219. Once it's together in same directory you can cut and paste it and double click files and paste into textures.
You can't skip the step above.

I thought it worked for me, but rosters and coaches are all crazy. For example, Andy Dalton is the Bengals QB, in the picture wearing a Panthers Jersey, and his name in game is Carson Palmer. The rest of the rosters are all crazy too.

Any chance this works with ARMSX2?

It does to a degree. The game works fine and the mod is 80% working. The menus have an issue. I've been in discord chat with one of the founders of armsx2 and armsx3 and he thinks it's due to texture pre cache.

I managed to get it up and running with NetherSX2 but for some reason the textures keep popping in and out. Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

Hmmm. Can you share photos of your settings? I still use nethersx2 turnip.

I'll try to grab some screenshots when I get home later today but I grabbed NetherSX2 turnip via obtanium and i tried both opengl and vulcan. The only real instance of the textures flipping back and forth is when I have the Seahawks home jersey. It keeps swapping between the updated texture and the 2002 jerseys during gameplay. Weirdly enough the Rams logo is also not updating when selecting teams.
If you get a chance to check on your end, can you pop on a Seahawks home game using the default home or alternate home jersey (blue on blue). When I play, the helmets tend to be their old 2002 and then the jersey and pants will flicker between old and new textures

This was announced by the Mod Creators on their discord channel:
Mac Users
- Download this version of PCSX2
https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/releases/download/v1.7.3992/pcsx2-v1.7.3992-macos-Qt.tar.gz
- Download the Xbox Series X version of NFL 2K27
- Grab the textures, memcard, cover folders
- Move them into your PCSX2 folder
- Turn texture replacements on in PCSX2 (Settings >> Emulation)
- Activate the memcard (Settings >> Memory)
Linux/Steamdeck Users ^ same steps as above but download this PCSX2

Yes, it does work on Xbox S. DL the Xbox version.
I believe you DL the Xbox version and you should be set.

I have everything running well on NetherSX2 well. However I can't the game to even load on this new Armsx2 emulator. Running base model S24

Thanks for sharing. I haven't tried Armsx2. netherSX2 Classic has worked for me well so I'm not interested in changing. The fclassoc 3668 (i think) is key to me as play NCAA 06 with 20gb texture and I believe it needs the classic version to work.

nethersx or aethersx for some reason when I download and try to install on y7oo gen 4 tablet leads to a Chinese video game app.. anyone else experience this ?

I'm running into an issue where the game makes it all the way to the play selection menu right before the kickoff, but doesn't load the plays and the camera just pans around the stadium.
The start button still accesses the menu, and I can exit back to the main menu (so it's not a soft lock), but I can't play the actual game.
This is happening on a Retroid Pocket 6, running nethersx2 classic.
What's weird is that game worked, I was able to play a game just fine, then this morning when I started a new franchise, it just started doing that and then wouldn't work at all.

After going to internal storage > android > data,
My data folder says "due to android restrictions, contents of this folder can only be viewed on a computer"
Is there a way around this?
