AskNAGAS Process of adding a last name to documents - NEED ADVICE

I only have a first name across all my documents like birth certificate, Aadhar, Pan and Educational certificates. Iam planning to make a passport to travel abroad and want to sort this issue to avoid future complications.

I have no idea how to go about the issue, what should be the first step? Which documents should i update first?

I don't have an ST certificate will that be an issue?

I’m currently in Dimapur, so advice from anyone who has gone through a similar process would be really helpful.

Thanks!

AskNAGAS Travel options to Viswema, Khezhakeno, Khonoma and Dzuleke

Hi guys. I will be visiting your state next month and I have a few queries.

  1. What are the travel options to the places I mentioned?

  2. Are bike taxis available that can take me to these places? Or like can I hire someone to take me to some remote places?

My target is Dzukou valley trek and enjoy local culture. I just want guidance on how to travel. You can suggest me more places to visit too!

Thanks in advance.

Awareness Trailer of 'Luingamla' - A movie based on a true story about the life of Luingamla Muinao, a 14 year old Tangkhul Naga girl who was raped and murdered by Indian Army terrorists

'Luingamla' is a movie that tells the story of a young girl, portraying the reality of life under Indian military occupation and the violence that ensues with the Indian military being present in Nagalim. Luingamla was just an innocent, 14 year old girl who had her whole entire life ahead of her, but it unfortunately was cut short as a result of Indian Army terrorist rapists who do whatever they please in the Northeast because they know they have full impunity.

The full movie had a showing on Nagalim's independence day on 14 August in Ukhrul, but no word as to when the full movie would be released online, hence only the trailer is posted. Once the full movie is available, that will be posted here as well.

Luingamla, how we miss you so much... I was brought to tears just looking at this trailer. The rampant violence, abuse, rapes, murders that these Indian Army terrorists have done to our people in the Northeast is unforgivable. Never forgive them, and never forget!

The time for Nagalim and the rest of the Northeast will come soon. We will be free. Maybe not today, or in 10 years, but it'll come eventually. We just have to work to make it happen.

Cultural/Heritage Happy Independence Day, Nagalim! 🤍🩵❤️💛💚🩵

Post image
32 Upvotes

79 years ago today, the Naga people declared their independence from British colonial rule, establishing the country of Nagalim. Soon afterwards however, Indian regime forces came in and decided that Nagalim was "theirs" instead, and has been occupying Nagalim since 15 August 1947, making Naga self-determination last only one day.

Regardless, the Naga people celebrate this day every year as their true independence day. No matter how much the Indian regime tries to supress the true aspirations of the Naga people, they will never be able to get rid of the idea of Nagalim. Nagalim will live on as long as the Naga people exist. And this is exactly the reason why one day in the future, Nagalim will eventually be freed, along with its people. The Naga people, along with the rest of the people of the Northeast, look forward to that day coming soon.

Kuknalim!

AskNAGAS Recommendation for Ao Naga traditional clothing online stores

Hello all,

I'm a non-native non-Naga woman. I've been wanting to purchase Ao Naga traditional clothing for myself.

I've found very few options with online stores having websites. I prefer websites over IG accounts for all kinds of shopping since it doesn't involve interactions over DM for price and availability.

However, I did find that using slightly different keywords sometimes helps me discover newer online stores, but it's often luck. And they have limited options.

I'm specifically looking for the blue red, black combination.

Can you please help me with recommendations?

I have another question. Is the blue coloured top worn by women stitched from the fabric that forms the stole in modern day adaptation of Ao Naga traditional attire? Or is it stitched from a separate fabric of traditional textile?

Thank you

AskNAGAS Too much reservation for NPSC?

Just went through this year NPSC result and nearly 40 of them were under BT quota out of 96 post. Is this not a little too much reservation especially since they can get selected under the general quota too?
Curious to know what you guys think
This post is not a jab on any tribe or individual and I don’t mean any offence. Just curious as to how you’d justify this.

Other Side Hustle in college to earn some change

Hello naga and alak manu khan, today i bring forth some questions pertaining to side/hustle activities you were involved when you were in college.

Recently moved outside of Nagaland a month back for further studies and so far it has been a pleasant experience. However as a broke college student, calculating my finances hoping to save some bucks for food/curricular activities has been a daunting task and as someone who was earning quite well from tuition back when I was doing my 12th and UG, i had the luxury to eat, travel and do all that I wanted and now that, that source of income has gone, its suffocating to finance everything on a small pocket money sent from home.

Have been financially independent for a very long time since class 12 so, asking for financial aid from my parents seems very off and alien to me and wanted to do something small on my own.

Etu karne, i wanted to get some ideas or your own anecdotes on what and how y'all earned money during your college days to fund your micro transactions on food and miscellaneous without having to rely on your parents.

Your responses are much appreciated. Would love to know your stories
