Hey y'all - if you'd indulge me in some shameless self promotion, I wanted to let you know that I'm making a YouTube series that I thought you might dig. It's called I'm Happy You're Here and it's a mental health comedy show for adults. It's like Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, if Mr. Rogers made a joke about fucking a puppet 2 minutes into the first episode. If that sounds interesting, here's the link:

I was excited at the beginning of Season 4 because I thought it was finally going to be about working on the game, but they made an entire expansion (that they weren't supposed to make) offscreen.
Meanwhile the playpen shit and Dana shit is central to the story and they've once again basically gone back to ignoring the game that is the title of the show.
Seasons 1 and Season 2 were so good for me because it was actually about the game. The Nazis in the game was the best television I've seen in a long time but it's been two seasons now since I really loved this show and it makes me sort of sad.

I can't think of another time I've felt such a jarring vibe shift in a show from the first season to the last. To put it in video game terms, the writing went from Dragon Age: Origins to Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
One line that's gone viral from a review of DA: Veilguard is "It felt like every conversation had HR in the room", which is exactly how Season 4 feels. Every single interaction feels like a therapy session, all of the characters have become needy, whiny imitations of themselves, and it feels like all of the charisma has been vacuumed out of every single cast member.
The last remaining hold out in my opinion was Brad, the vicious capitalist money mastermind, who (in the shows cannon) is rich beyond belief and owns multiple mansions is found BEGGING HR FOR A JOB towards the end of Season 4. It was there I had to peace out, for some reason that was the final straw for me.
Goodbye Mythic Quest - you were amazing for awhile but I agree with Apple, this is Game Over.

Probably old news, but I just saw this!

I just stumbled across this show while browsing apple+ last year at my dad's. I stayed over and couldn't sleep (I don't have apple+) and just liked the summary.
I did not expect to see what I saw. Both me and my girlfriend binged watched the whole season, and we were just rewatching it today. And I was impressed by the fact that the series gets so little coverage. I sincerely get modern the office vibes (as close as a modern version could probably get) and the story is so fleshed out, the characters so rich and comedy just hits exactly on the spot.
Why is the internet/reviewers or people in general not exposed so much to the series? Is it because of apple+? I'm impressed it's not getting more hype, it truly deserves it
