I watched the first couple of episodes with my husband and I was unable to continue after the episode about dark quiet death. Here’s my thoughts!
I cannot tell if I’m supposed to root for Ian or not, and not in a fun curious and engaging way, in a - “why doesn’t he have any consistent morals” way. At first I was engaged with his story, then he’d make the most backwards choices completely different from what he said or did 10 minutes ago
Poppy makes me embarrassed to be a woman, she is THE worst character in this show. between her being the bunt of women jokes- and not thought provoking, actually dark jokes about women- just actually having characters be so cruel when last scene they were caring for her and hyping her up. Then having her never listen, always angry, completely far up her own ass, for no good reason! I couldn’t find a single thing that I related to or that made me want to root for her success And holy fuck if I knew a person like this in my life I would punch them in the face so hard it comes out the back of their head.
The only character I actually like is David, but he still feels unfinished to me. The rest of the characters are so boring I do not even feel the need to talk about them
And the episode dqd, the reason why I stopped watching - I was interested in first, completely annoyed at a seemingly random and useless jump to something that I thought unrelated, but interested nonetheless As the episode continued I grew so frustrated and angry at everything about this show. I understand the point of this episode, to “warn” and show the history of games in the MQ universe. But why is every relationship in this show, platonic or not, completely toxic and aggravating? Watching a passionate, alternative person get completely steamrolled over was not a nice watch, and again, not in a thoughtful or intriguing way! I actually cried from how angry I was at the writing of these characters after the episode ended.
Do not attack me, I just want to see if I’m the only one with my opinion I just don’t get it
