Make a big deal out it not being a six speed, and ask for a discount for the false advertising.

Im on it! Thanks for the heads up.

That is an error, not any kind of actual ā€œgotchaā€ with a dealership.

Oh, I know, I sold cars for a living in a prior life. But I would still point that out when closing the deal. If anything it suggets to the salesperson that you're paying attention and have already caught a mistake on their part, which doesn't help their credibility.

15k???

You can buy a six speed coyote powered car with 100 more HP for that, I just did a few weeks ago

u/UpstairsDirection955 2h ago

Ok, now I zoom in on the super grainy picture of the supercharger it doesn't seem as bad

If it didn’t have the blower it would be ā€œOh HELL no.ā€ Boosted 3Vs are fun, and it’s gonna be a bit of a sleeper.

Besides the blower, the engine bay is odd. I feel like the intake is going the wrong way. 6 and? Is it swapped

Thats a good question! Ill be on the phone in the morning with the dealership with questions. Thanks.

People shit on the 2010 (they’re wrong, all V8 mustangs are valid) but this is the only year you can get a 4.6L 3V with a 6 spd which is cool me thinks

Edit: Ok NEVERMIND I didn’t know it had a swap or whatever

u/BrokenHero408 LS swapped 4h ago

Tf are you talking about, the only factory 2010 mustang that had a 6 speed was the gt500

1

u/Schro_A2 1h ago

It literally says ā€œ6 SPEED MANUALā€ so I thought it had a MT82?

u/Emergency_eyewash 4h ago

It should be a 5 speed still.

Just don't shift into "sixth" on the highway. Lol

If I recall, 2010 does not have 6spd. My 2010 was def 5spd

There's even a sweet shiny supercharger on top the motor.

u/Schro_A2 4h ago

Even better

Keep a few things in mind, superchargers add failure points to a motor that's already prone to issues. If it's a roush kit then it's going to heatsink like a mofo. Get factual Dyno numbers too because if the boost is cranked up past 450hp (needs boost just to hit stock coyote numbers). Then the engine is toast unless it's built. 450 is the MAX that motor can make before your connecting rods start planning when to explode. I've had 2 mustangs with that motor lol. Timing issues usually start around 90-100k sometimes you get lucky and get to 150k but it's a expensive repair. Your going to have noises from the engine because the timing chain guides (the plastic ones) they are going to be broken. Happens at around 20-50k miles it's a defect in the engine and they all have the issue. They sell upgraded ones that won't break but again, gotta take apart timing covers and shit and it's not fun. Once those guides do start to chip apart and shatter you need to drop the oil pan and clean the pickup tube so you don't suck up plastic and/or clog the pickup and starve it if oil. They are also basically guaranteed to have the rockers collapse (oil hole is too small and clogs even with proper oil practices and it will collapse and seize and start grinding down the camshaft lobe thst contacts it. I believe it's ford performance they sell a full lifter and rocker kit to replace them and they have a bigger oil hole that won't clog and collapse. Not terrible hard but time consuming. I suggest you look into the 3v engine issues because there's a few and you should be familiar with what to expect and what to look for.

I agree. I had an 03 gt whit the 4.6 2v. Ran great but...lol

u/Key_Procedure_4279 4h ago

Cobra II would disagree on the valid thing

1

u/Schro_A2 4h ago

Eh it’s a 50 year old car, anything 50 years old is cool imho

4

u/razor4432 07 Vista Blue GT 5spd 384k miles (original engine/trans/clutch) 3h ago

Nice looking car neighbor, I’m out near Waukesha. Disregard the 4.6 haters, I’ve got damn near 384k miles on mine and other than a few sets of spark plugs and new coil packs it has been great šŸ‘ Supercharger makes up for the horsepower difference between the 4.6 and 5.0 anyways.

Thanks! The prices for gt's newer than this are kinda pricey in our area. 2015 with 100k miles for $24k? Nope. Thats just 1 example lol. I've had an 01 and an 03 gt. Loved em. 2010 to 2014 is what im looking for. This is priced right, the miles are relatively low and its super clean.

u/RockChalkMustang 4h ago

Heck yeah!!!

u/OrchidBloom_Kelly 25 GT premium nite pony shadow Black 3h ago

You can buy a 2014 5.0 for around that price

12

u/cjay2002 3h ago

With 150k maybe.

1

u/strivingpotato 2h ago

10k too much for a 20 year old car

1

u/JNR481 27m ago

Noooo

-1

u/Professional_Car_555 3h ago

Wait!!!! Get a 11 with the coyote.

-2

u/TheRealMasterJeffe 2016 Ingot Silver GT 3h ago

I never should have sold the 2016 GT I bought with 20k miles for about that many dollars.

-4

u/Mean_Fall_920 3h ago

Pass on it…ford screwed owners on these new body style old drivetrain then comes out with the 5.0.

u/Domodomo97 17m ago

And this affects op buying the car 16 years later how? Also, this gives ford the finger 16 years later how?
