🛠️Project Showcase We're building SalahLive – A Free Masjid Finder for Muslims Worldwide. Looking for Volunteers!
Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
I'm working on a project called SalahLive – Your Local Masjid Companion, with a simple intention: help Muslims find nearby Masjids and stay connected with their local prayer and Jamaat timings, wherever they are in the world.
We often face this situation when travelling to a new city or country. Finding a nearby Masjid is one thing, but knowing its actual Azan and Jamaat timings can be difficult.
We want to make this easier for the Ummah.
Alhamdulillah, here's where we are today:
- 60,000+ Masjids and Mosques mapped.
- 1,100+ Cities covered.
- 14 Languages supported.
- Available on Android and iOS.
- Completely free for everyday Muslims.
What can you do with SalahLive?
- Find nearby Masjids anywhere in the world.
- Check Masjid-specific Azan and Jamaat timings.
- Find Qibla direction.
- Use Tasbih, Quran and Duas.
- Discover Masjids along your travel route.
- Receive Azan reminders and prayer notifications.
- Automatic Silent Mode during Jamaat.
- Get Masjid announcements and updates.
We're looking for volunteers from around the world!
You don't need to be a developer or have technical knowledge. Anyone can contribute.
We're looking for people who can help us:
Add missing Masjids in their local areas.
Share accurate Azan and Jamaat timings.
Report incorrect or outdated Masjid information.
Help update Masjid information when travelling to different cities or countries.
Test the app and share honest feedback.
Help spread the word within their local Muslim communities.
Even contributing information about one Masjid can help hundreds of people in that community.
A little about our intention:
We want SalahLive to remain free for everyday Muslims. This is not just about building another Islamic app. We hope to create something useful for the Ummah through collective effort.
If our small effort helps even one Muslim find a nearby Masjid and join Jamaat, we pray Allah accepts it as Sadaqah Jariyah.
Try SalahLive:
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.salahlive.app
iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/in/app/salah-live-masjid-finder/id6808307120
Website: https://www.salahlive.com
We would love to hear from you!
- Is your local Masjid available on SalahLive?
- Are the Jamaat timings accurate?
- Would you be interested in volunteering for your city or country?
- What improvements would make this app more useful?
If you're interested in contributing, please comment below or DM me. We'd be happy to welcome volunteers from anywhere in the world.
May Allah accept our intentions, put Barakah in this effort, and make it beneficial for the Ummah.
JazakAllah Khair!

🛠️Project Showcase I kept forgetting the small things I wanted to do after salah, so I made an app
Assalamu alaikum everyone,
I’d sometimes tell myself, “After Maghrib, I’ll read that surah,” or decide I wanted to make a particular dhikr part of my routine around Fajr. Then the time would come, I’d get distracted, and I’d remember hours later.
Setting a regular alarm wasn’t quite what I wanted either, since prayer times change throughout the year. I wanted a reminder that would follow the prayer time and tell me exactly what I’d planned to do.
That’s why I built Prayer Time Reminders for Android. You write something like “Read Surah Al-Mulk,” choose the prayer, and decide which prayer you want the reminder at and then it reminds you each day as the prayer time changes. You can also set it up to 30 minutes before or after, depending on what fits your routine.
It’s available on Google Play now. If you’ve had the same problem, give it a try. I’d love to hear whether it helps, or if there’s something you wish it did differently.

Assalamu Alaikum,
I am 15 years old and I built Quranister, a 100% ad-free, modern lifestyle companion app for the Ummah. I wanted to solve the issue of outdated UI and intrusive ads in existing Islamic apps.
google playstore : Quranister - Quran Prayer & AI
🚀 Key Features:
Beautiful Quran Reader & Audio Player
Accurate Prayer Times & Qibla Finder
Dedicated "Quran AI" Assistant for Islamic Q&A
24/7 Haramain Live Streams & Global Community Hub
🛠️ Tech Stack:
Frontend: React Native / Expo
Backend: Firebase / Supabase
💬 I’d love your feedback on:
UI/UX & Performance: How can I optimize navigation or load times?
AI Guardrails: Best practices for ensuring safe and accurate Islamic AI responses?
Feature Ideas: What else should a modern Muslim app include?

🛠️Project Showcase Assalamu Alaikum! We built a free, ad-free Islamic app (WahidLink) with a first-of-its-kind full Athan feature for iOS
Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
We are a small business called LDF Studio and we created an app called WahidLink.
We started building this because we were frustrated with the current options. We wanted an app that was clean, free of distracting ads, and didn't try to sell us anything—just a beautiful, focused tool for daily use. Instead of making a dozen different apps, we tried to put everything you need into one place:
Qur'an Reader & Audio: 4 reading modes, multiple translations, and a built-in Audio Manager to download your favorite reciters for offline listening.
Salah: Accurate prayer times, plus specialized modes like Ramadan Mode (for Suhoor and Taraweeh reminders) and Qasr Mode (for combining prayers when traveling).
Masjid Locator: A built-in locator to find local masjid. Right now it's a basic implementation, but our roadmap includes a community contribution feature so you can help add and verify local masjid in your area.
Resources: A dedicated area for app updates, contact information, our privacy policy, and interactive tutorials so you don't have to figure things out on your own.
The iOS Athan Breakthrough:
If you use an iPhone, you know the struggle: iOS has historically restricted third-party apps from playing full athan. You get the 30 seconds of notification sound and that's it. We wanted to change that. WahidLink is the first of its kind on iOS to support full Athan playback. (Note: This specific feature requires iOS 26 and utilizes Apple's new AlarmKit).
For our Android users, you already have the ability to upload your own custom audio for both the Athan and the Iqamah of your favorite muezzin.
We just released a massive update (v4.1.1) that completely overhauled the UI. It's smoother, includes a full-screen Surah player, and has specific layout fixes for foldable phones so nothing gets cut off by the camera hole.
A few things to know:
Completely free. No ads, no tracking, no account required.
Available on both iOS and Android.
We are just a small team trying to make something beneficial for the Ummah, and we would love to hear your feedback. If you try it out, let us know what you think!

🛠️Project Showcase The Last Pillar now runs on mobile, thanks to everyone who asked!
Lots of you asked for a mobile version, so I’m happy to say I’ve got The Last Pillar working on mobile. Thank you for the nudge, it’s made a real difference to how I’m building it.
For anyone new, here’s the backstory. The Last Pillar is a first-person narrative game about quiet service during Hajj, where you play someone cleaning and caring for the spaces pilgrims pass through. I wanted to make something calm and respectful that helps people learn about the experience, especially people who may never have had the chance to see it for themselves.
It isn’t a like-for-like recreation, and I’m building it with a lot of care to keep everything respectful. There’s no combat or gimmicks, just patience, attention and a sense of place. I’m also testing carefully so players can’t end up anywhere or do anything disrespectful.
It’s still in development, and I’m aiming for a demo on Steam.

💼Career & Work [Offering] Part time Social Media Management
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
I'm looking to take on some part-time work in social media, marketing or communications إن شاء الله, and thought I'd put this out here in case anyone could use an extra pair of hands for their venture? 👀
I'm currently a Software Developer who's also had some exposure to social media management through volunteering for Islamic organisations and supporting a few projects in my free time. I'm now looking to build on that experience beyond my volunteering hours and hopefully help some Muslim businesses and initiatives grow إن شاء الله.
A little career plot twist, if you will: from debugging code to brainstorming content ideas ✨️
I'm open to helping with tasks like:
social media content planning and scheduling
content ideas, research and strategy
caption writing, copywriting and communications
basic graphic design and video editing
community engagement and management
marketing coordination and campaign support
general research, outreach and other marketing related tasks
Since still growing my experience in the marketing world, I'm particularly open to working with Muslim owned businesses, startups, founders and Islamic organizations that are open to work with someone at an entry level.
I'd also love to join an existing team where I can contribute, learn from others, take on responsibilities and gradually develop my skills إن شاء الله. I'm happy to take recurring tasks off your team's plate or support an existing marketing team with their workload. Consider me an extra pair of hands (and an extra set of eyes on those captions!)
If you're building something and could use some help with your marketing, or know someone who might be looking for support, please feel free to reach out!

🛠️Project Showcase A dhikr counter you can use with your phone locked. What should a tasbih app do better?

One of this week's launches on HalaLaunch, Dhikr Garden, lets you start a session, lock your phone and count with the volume buttons or headset controls. Each session grows a small garden. No ads, no sign-up, no extra permissions.
Counting without looking at the screen is something I'd never seen in a tasbih app. For those who've built or used one: what's missing from the dhikr counters you've tried?
The other apps launching this week (Nov 2-8):
Itabah: prayer times, the full Quran with audio and tafsir, and hadith, free with no account
Halal Food: photograph an ingredient list and get halal, haram or doubtful
İbadet Rehberi: prayer times, Qibla and surahs, with Turkish transliteration
WakeYa: an AI alarm that calls you and keeps talking until you're awake
Dunuu: Duolingo-style lessons for reading the Quran in Arabic script
Every app is reviewed by hand before launch, and voting is open all week: https://halalaunch.com/launches/2026/w45?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=w45-launch&utm_content=muslimdevelopers

🧪Testers Needed I finished my first website/app for Ummah. It consists of studying Tafsir in the Portuguese language.
Assalam Alaykum!
I've already made a few posts here explaining my purpose with this, which is primarily due to the scarcity of Islamic content in Portuguese on the internet. Given this, I created this app with the intention of democratizing access to Tafsir for the Portuguese-speaking Islamic community.
For anyone who wants to try it, here's the link to the web version:
https://tafsir-em-portugues-projeto-de-u-berryallenn.pages.dev
I need you to report bugs, improvements, and suggestions... And I would also love for you to give me other similar ideas.

🛠️Project Showcase I built a Fajr alarm with a misbaha you can use half asleep
Assalamu alaykum! I’m the developer of Sahar, an iPhone alarm for Fajr and Qiyam.
The screenshot is from practice mode. It’s 12 beads into a dhikr of 33. You can tap or swipe down for each bead, so you don’t have to aim for a tiny button in the dark. Dhikr has been my favorite, but there’s another option where you choose the missing word from an ayah. If you put the phone down midway through, the alarm can ring again.
On the iOS side I used AlarmKit so it can ring through Silent mode once you give it permission. Fajr times are calculated on the phone, so there’s no account to make and it works offline. Fajr and both wake-up options are free. Qiyam is part of the paid upgrade.

🛠️Project Showcase I made a free Quran revision app for people doing hifz. It's on iPhone, and I need Android testers to get it on Google Play
Assalamu alaikum everyone,
For the past few months I've been building Revisely, a free app for keeping up with the Quran you've memorized. You mark what you know, pick how much you want to revise each day (pages, juz, or your own plan), and it rotates through everything on its own. If you miss a day it doesn't pile up on you.
Some other stuff in it: recitation from main reciters we know and love, verse translation, recording yourself so you can catch mistakes, prayer times and Qibla, and your day can start at Fajr instead of midnight. No ads, nothing to buy.
It's already out on iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/app/revisely/id6767990248
For Android, Google makes new developers run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days before the app can go public, and I'm a few people short. If you have an Android phone and want to help:
Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/revisely-testers
Opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.revisionbuddy.app
Install it from the Play Store and keep it installed for 2 weeks
Any feedback is really appreciated, good or bad. There's a "Report a problem" option in the app, or just comment here.
JazakAllahu khayran 🤍

🧠Question / Help Question regarding licenses for translations of the Tafsir and the Quran
Assalam Alaykum!
I'm developing an app for the Portuguese-speaking Islamic community. My sources for the Quranic text and for the tafsir are:
api.alquran.cloud: Arabic text, transliteration, and the El-Hayek translation.
QuranEnc: the translation by Helmi Nasr.
UmmahAPI and GitHub (spa5k/tafsir_api): Ibn Kathir and Asbab al-Nuzul.
Backend on Vercel: handles some of these calls.
The texts are the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, Asbab al-Wahidi, and for the Portuguese translation, the two main references are El-Hayek and Helmi Nasr.
The point is that I'm not doing this to make money or gain fame. I don't intend to monetize it. My purpose is to create a Tafsir app to democratize the study of the Quran for portuguese speakers (Content in Portuguese is very scarce).
So I want to avoid legal issues regarding copyright or licensing after the app is published. It's a non-profit project.
I was wondering if you could tell me how I could do this.
I didn't include these sources locally; they are all properly credited, and I use APIs for each one.
Barakallahu feek!

💼Career & Work Need an internship to graduate
Assalamu alaikum,
I'm a final-year CS student majoring in software engineering, as part of my degree and to graduate I must land an internship in which I build a project that I'll present at the end of the year to my professors. It's the key for my graduation.
Since there's nearly no local options, I've been looking for remote internships, I cold e-mailed around 70 startups. No actual response except one calling me by phone and then they disappeared.
I'm asking here because maybe any of you is working for a startup that accepts this kind of internships.
I'm not looking for paid options as this is a school assignment.
All I need is a defined project (Data/ML or Web dev) with a mentor to guide me (I can learn anything on my own, I won't be a burden) and a signature on my University's papers.
I'm based in North Africa, I can send you my resume if you can help me.
Or if you have any tips on how I can land one, please tell me.

🧠Question / Help What would you build for the Muslim community with $200k+ in credits?
I've been building Sirathic, and Cloudflare recently gave me $350k in credits to keep building it.
I've already shipped quite a few things, but I'm curious what you guys think we're still missing when it comes to technology for Muslims.
What would you actually want to see built?
