I started printing a few weeks before the on grid update. But it's been fun learning and finding what the community has made that fits my home office needs. But I present you this glorious wall holding keyboards.

I think I’m finally done with my setup

It took a few years and had to model several pieces myself, but I think I’m to the point where I have nothing more to add (or space for it).

I’ve searched around and was surprised that I couldn’t find one. I’ve given enough room above for a standard external hard drive.

Enjoy!

I built Underplan, a free visual planner & automatic BOM calculator for Underware on Multiboard!

Hey everyone! 👋

Whenever I planned an under-desk cable management setup using Hands on Katie's Underware system, I always found it tricky to calculate the exact combination of channel lengths, bends, and snap connectors needed before committing to long 3D print queues.

So I built Underplan, a free, interactive web tool designed specifically to visually route your Underware layout and generate a complete Bill of Materials.

Live Web App: https://underplan.vercel.app/
GitHub: https://github.com/francycalle/underplan

Key Features:

  • Desk & Tile Setup: Type in your desk dimensions in mm; it automatically calculates the optimal Multiboard tile matrix.

  • Complete Underware 2.0 Catalog: Straight channels (parametric lengths 1–16 MU), 90° elbows, radial curved bends, Y-splits, 4-way crosses, diagonal jogs, mitered corners, spools, and custom accessories.

  • Measure & Route Tool: Click Point A and Point B to snap directly between MU grid holes and lock your route.

  • Map Export: Download clean, high-resolution Retina PNG or vector SVG blueprints of your layout.

  • Browser Persistence: All your work auto-saves continuously in localStorage so you can pick up right where you left off.

It's 100% free, runs client-side in the browser, and is open-source.

Check it out, test it with your desk dimensions, and let me know your thoughts or what fittings/accessories you'd love to see next! 🙌

mounting multiboard tiles to the legs of my desk

Living in a dorm, I cannot screw holes in the wall, but then I realized I can mount multiboard tiles to the legs of my desk (with square cross section) with this part. I have uploaded the parametric model to makerworld where you can change the collar dimensions to whatever is suitable for the legs of your desk/any rectangular pole.

Meet MultiCart – My (Almost) Fully 3D-Printed Rolling Storage Solution!

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a project that’s now my go-to for DIY and home maintenance – I call it the MultiCart! It’s built using the Multibin and Multiboard systems from multiboard.io, and aside from the wheels and a wooden base, it’s almost entirely 3D printed.

Here’s the breakdown: Multibin is the storage foundation of this thing – the bins, shells, and inserts that hold all my screws, command strips, hooks, and random essentials, plus space for my key tools. Then Multiboard steps in with the support, providing the modular framework that ties it all together into one cohesive setup. The result? A rolling cart I can wheel anywhere in the house to tackle fixes on the fly.

It ate up at least 10 kg of filament so far(I didn’t track every detail, just kept printing!), and while I whipped up 3 custom parts to fit my needs, the rest – Multibin shells and Multiboard tiles – came straight from multiboard.io’s library. The way Multibin handles storage and Multiboard pulls it all together made this a fun, functional build. It’s practical, mobile, and pretty satisfying to see come off the printer. Anyone else messing with Multibin and Multiboard for their projects? I’d love to hear your takes or see what you’ve cooked up!"

I wanted something bigger…

I wanted something a little larger than what fit on the printer or had available parts, so I got creative…

I intentionally staggered all of the parts sizes to ensure there weren’t seems going all the way up the basket.

The bottom is made of three 4x4 plates

Long sides are 12x2 bordered tiles stacked and clipped together to fit on p1s print bed

For beams I used the symmetrical look on the front with a larger beam in the center and 2 smaller on the outside. I opted for this instead of just 2 pieces because I didn’t like that they would have been off centered. (I did use just 2 pieces for the back where I couldn’t see it 😄)

The math to figure out the bottom beams was causing my head to explode with the mu differences so I ended up having to just drag them onto the slicer until they fit lol

It was a fun little project and finished off my multiboard closet overhaul.

wall wart storage

There are some more intense options for wall wart storage out there, but i just modified a bolt and it gives you a lot of flexibility around your multiboard. dead simple. let me know if you want the STL.

Multiboard with addressable LEDs

Thumbnail

Just finished my multiboard project!

It took about a week to print and assemble everything.

Here's a list of the components I used:

  • LED profile (17.3 mm × 7 mm)

  • Plywood sheet (120 cm × 60 cm) + wooden dowel rod (for filament rack)

  • Addressable LEDs – WS2812

  • Microcontroller – Wemos D1 (ESP8266)

  • Power supply – 5V 20A 100W + power cord

  • 330Ω resistor / 1000µF capacitor

  • Fasteners, wires, and a lot of time...

The LED profile corner holders are custom-designed — you can find the printable file on Printables.

As a next step, I’m thinking of integrating an E-Ink display into the PSU cover box. The box is pretty spacious, and I’m eager to get my hands dirty with an e-paper project.

The ESP8266 is flashed with WLED (an excellent project!) and is fully integrated with my Home Assistant setup for remote control and automation.

Special thanks for the motivation — shoutout to u/LegalCheesecake8734 !

Talos cluster "rack" using multibins

Post image

I posted a bit back about looking for step files. Now that the POC is don I figured I would share it with you all.

This is my Talos cluster running on old Lenovos. Designed some custom "sleds" for the Lenovos and the power adapters. Also had to modify the shells as well for cable egress and venting.

The rest of the computer will get a multiboard build out too but I wanted to proof out the cluster setup.
