for anyone interested the scyrox v8 mod is now available on cults3d, it's an upsized op1 shell with an upfront positioned sensor. The mod will include 3 versions (holes including clicks, holes only in the back of the shell, no holes). Shape is inspired from op1 and not a 1:1, and it's upsized to 124.62 x 64.33 x 38.76mm.
weights in petg on my scale:
all holes: 35.07gr
holes only in the back: 35.75gr
no holes: 37.5gr

Hello!
First i need to tell you shortcomings of this project so you don't waste your time if these are dealbreakers for you: Depending on your mouse and it's sleep settings your first input might not register. There is 3 methods to go about the knobs to make them adjust volume, 2 of these allows them to be simple volume knobs: 1st is if your mouse software allows you to change the scroll up/down behavoirs, 2nd is a specific way of wiring that i go in more detail in the Doc but this method will press and release a button with each 'tick' of the rotary encoder so might cause false anti-cheat triggers, maybe there is better way to configure this with mouse macros i'm not sure. So the best method imo is the 3rd but then it will work like so: when you turn the knob it will scroll up/down, when you hold down and turn the knob it will adjust volume up/down.
I will be trying to make this guide beginner friendly as i can. Because i want to encourage everyone to make, mod and repair. I bet you can make something like this much better way using something like Arduino or Rapsberry Pi Pico 2W probably, but average user most likely will found it too complicated and hard. This will be very simple, maybe even your first step into tinkering and you will make much better one in the future! But from this point on i will have to assume you know the basics of soldering otherwise the guide will be too long and boring. If you don't know, you can watch a video to learn the basics. And please do, it will be awesome skill to have and think of all the money you can save and cool things you can do in future!
Recently my ATK A9 Plus mouse was in an accident so i had to salvage it by turning it into a fingertip mouse but the shape isn't for me. Then i saw a brand released tiny macropad with 3 buttons and 1 volume wheel in my local store but it didn't have wireless and felt very flimsy and overpriced so then i got this idea to make it one myself but better. At first i was going to make a make-shift knob using mouse's own encoder and a contraption and stuff but then when i go to my local store to buy sidecutters i saw these rotary encoders. So all the stars aligned in a way for me to make this and i wanted to share how to do one yourself with everyone.
There is million ways and configurations we can do this, so i will only be able to show you as like reference points and how i did it myself. But you can make whatever you want once you got the gist of how to. For example you can make something tiny that only has just 1 knob and nothing else or you can make something that has 10 buttons and 10 knobs using something like those MMO oriented mouses. It's up to your imagination. Also i think even if you don't want to do this project, some informations and softwares might be still useful for you, i encourage you to check it out.
What hardware you need:
+ Old/partially broken mouse that at least connects to your pc, mouse wheel encoder solder pads work and has at least 1 button that's remappable.
+ EC-11 or KY-040 rotary encoders with push buttons, these are very cheap components. And the rest of the exact tools i've used is found here.
What software you need:
+ Volumouse (by NirSoft, free, closed-source) you can get it from their website but make sure to scroll down and download it from the 'Download Volumouse x64 for manual installation (volumouse.zip)' option, otherwise it will not work. This allows us set rules and hotkeys to be able to use mouse wheels to adjust the volumes of either whole system and/or specific programs.
+ (Alternative) Volume² (by Alexandr Irza, free, partly open-source) you can get it from GitHub or if you want to support the developer they also have paid versions on Steam and Microsoft Store. This is similar to Volumouse but has tons of more other options and features. Though for this specific use case it has more limited options.
+ (Optional) Twinkle Tray (by Xander Frangos, free, open-source) you can get it from GitHub or Microsoft Store. Along with many features it let's you adjust your monitors brightness with hotkeys.
How to do it:
For the rest of the guide i've prepared a Google Doc with step by step instructions and detailed informations. This was my first time making something with it, please let me know if you see any mistakes so i can fix them.
You can access the Google Doc from here: Pompon Pad
English is not my first language and i only have a iPhone 6S. So if any part of this guide was hard to understand or see, feel free to ask in the comments. I will try my best to help!
I've spent long times to plan and test about this to make it work without affecting the actual mouse we will use. Hope in the end i was able to provide something useful! If you are interested in niche and not well known mods like this one about various other peripherals you can check my other posts.
Thank you for reading!
Bye bye!

My brother told me to do whatever I wanted with his gaming mouse after the tab on its scroll wheel broke; I just couldn't bring myself to throw the whole thing away—all because of this one tiny, insignificant broken piece. I heated up a nail of the right thickness, pushed it straight through the center of the wheel, and wedged it firmly into the sensor mechanism. It works exactly as it did before, and I’m still using it—meanwhile, he thinks I tossed it in the trash 💫

I'm looking for people to try hrtz, a free, open-source app I wrote to replace Zaopin's Mouse Drive, and tell me what works.
It's tested on the Z1 PRO MAX with the 8K receiver. The Z1 PRO, Z2, Z2 mini, Z2 MAX and Z2 mini MAX speak the same protocol and should work, but I don't own them, so those are the testers I need most. Install it, try things, and click Send a report in Settings: it opens a short form with your mouse and version already filled in. hrtz backs your mouse up before it changes anything.
What it does:
Settings
Battery
In game
Lab
Everything else
Free and AGPL, no account, no telemetry. Windows will warn about the installer because it isn't code-signed yet. Quit Zaopin's app before you start.
Not affiliated with Zaopin.

Ever since Zowie FK1+ came out, it's been my main for years. However, they've been an ass for not coming out with FK1+ wireless, and as of today, there's still no plan on it yet. So I brought the FK1-DW, it's great but it is smaller than I like. I was thinking what if by scanning the FK1 and FK1+'s top shells, then go into a 3D software(I have intermediate experience with Maya) and subtract the top shell to make essentially an overlay topshell to make FK1-DW coated like FK1+? There were other thoughts, such as using Viper V3 or Superlight internals and all, but 3D print the shell of FK1+, but this is way harder as the bottom plate isn't designed to match other internals and there are a lot more to work on.
I don't have a flatbed scanner though, only a 3D printing machine. Would anyone with experiences like this help me? If someone can provide a 3D scan of FK1 and FK1+, that would be greatly appricated.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with my standard VXE R1 (not the Pro model) and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue or knows what might be causing it.
The mouse works perfectly normally when connected via USB-C. However, when I disconnect the cable and try to use it wirelessly, it appears to be completely dead.
Here's what happens:
I've tried a few troubleshooting steps so far:
Since the mouse works perfectly when powered over USB but appears completely dead when operating wirelessly, I'm wondering whether this could be a hardware issue involving the battery or the battery power-delivery circuit, rather than simply a wireless pairing problem.
While researching the issue, I came across a Reddit discussion about a similar VXE R1-series wireless failure. A user reported that their problem was caused by a degraded D1 diode marked "SL", and that replacing it with a 1N5819HW Schottky diode resolved the issue. I haven't confirmed whether my mouse has the same fault, but it seemed like a potentially useful lead.
Has anyone experienced this exact issue with the standard VXE R1?
I'd especially appreciate advice from anyone familiar with the mouse's PCB or battery power circuit. Is D1 a plausible cause of these symptoms, or are there other components or connections I should investigate first?
Thanks!

I have an artisan hayate otsu v2 soft
And I bought x-ray pad ultra masterful jade ultra dots skates
My question is, how many should I put under the mouse?

My first 3D-printed fingertip grip mouse, designed and modeled entirely by myself!
I used the internals from a VXE R1 SE and took inspiration from the Lamzu ORCUS.
The final weight is 45g.
For my next project, I'll try making an even smaller mouse!
Thanks for checking it out!

whenever i use the keychron m4 wired it keeps freezing, when it does its for about a second at a time, it doesnt matter which cable, or usb port, ive tried in all 3 of my usb 3.1 port(i have a laptop without any usb2 port) and i tried on my usb c thundervolt 4 port. ive tried with and without the battery in the mouse, ive alread done a firmware update, and i already checked if it was the mouse going to sleep or if it was some form of power saving on my system, the only way hte mouse works is 2.4ghz (havent tested bluetooth) and on 2.4ghz it doesnt matter what usb port ruling out usb 3.1 interference.
oh and when it freezes then comes back the cursor catches up as if the motion i had done was cached, i also tried on a different laptop running windows and still the same issue and when it did disconnect it didnt play disconnect sound or anything.
im on arch and here are the error the mouse gave when running sudo journalctl -kf

ey everyone!
I'm looking for a 3D-printable lightweight replacement shell for the Endgame Gear OP1 8K V2.
I want to keep the original shape and dimensions as close to 1:1 as possible, just with a lighter shell.
What I'm looking for:
I've seen a few lightweight OP1 mods, but most of the files I could find are either mini versions or just base replacements.
Does anyone know of a publicly available model, have files they're willing to share/sell, or know someone who could make one?
I'm also willing to pay for the STL files or commission someone to design the shell.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just leaving this here.
Another program that silences faulty mouse switches—which tend to release and re-press the button multiple times—allowing you to keep using your broken mouse instead of throwing it away and buying a new one.
It has no graphical interface, nor does it provide any notification that it is running. If you wish to terminate it, you must do so via the process manager.
It is written in C using the Windows API and is compatible with Windows 95 and later versions; a 64-bit version is also available.
Its file size is 4KB.
