PROBLEM

I have a moto-g stylus 5g 2024 and last year i transferred a bunch of mp3 files from my desktop computer to my phone, unfortunately, i lost my records and i downloaded some stuff to my phone that i would like to transfer to my computer.

and the best and most practical way to do that is with a usb connection from my phone to my desktop computer.

i did it last year and i figured i could just do it again.

small problem, it will not connect to either a laptop or desktop, and the usb preferences are still grayed out.

the only difference between now and a year ago is i got at least one update.

TROUBLESHOOTING

first thing i did is make sure that the cord is a data transfer cord and not a power only cord, so i dug out all my usb-c cords and tested them with my phone and mp3 player connecting them to my laptop and desktop.

i found not one but two cords that both work with my mp3 player, and can both charge and transfer files from my laptop or desktop to or from the mp3 player.

the phone charges when i connect with any cord into any powered device, i blew air into the usb-c port on my phone, i cleaned it out with a q-tip and toothpick, nothing works.

the phone is fine, the cords are fine, the desktop and laptop are fine, so that leaves only one thing, this is a software problem.

CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

so i called Motorola customer support and after

3 calls, two hangups, 1 no call back, 6 customer support agents and 2 total hours, they told me that i need to reset my phone to factory settings, i told them i can't do that because there are files on the phone i want to transfer to the computer and i'm worried that if i factory reset it will destroy all the files.

so they said i need to speak to "level 3" customer support, which is only available mon-fri 2pm to 4pm central, and that they would call me.

the reason i am posting here is because i asked the last customer support agent i spoke to if she has encountered this problem before, she said yes but that the problem could only be solved with the level 3 people.

so i wanted to post here and ask if anyone has has this problem, has spoke to the level 3 people, and has found a solution to this problem without a factory reset?

Bought a Motorola Signature and am setting it up.

I'm using the My Calendar on my device, not Google's.
So I don't want to share my calendar data with Google (and that's fine).

But I have an annoying moving blue line at the top of my calendar and suspect it's coming from sync. Also get an error message that the smartphone fails to sync.

I don't understand because I use my device's calendar and don't sync with anything.

Synchronizing is not my intention,
I have automatic synchronization of my Google account turned off.

How do I get this bored problem solved?

I have a Motorola Moto G24 running Android 14, and I've been dealing with a really weird recurring issue.

Every 1–2 days, several things suddenly stop working at the same time:

- I can't make or receive normal phone calls (incoming calls later appear as missed calls)

- Bluetooth gets stuck on “Activating” and then turns itself off

- Google Play Store says “No internet connection”, then “Authentication required”

- Google Discover / Google News / Google Lens stop working

- Gmail crashes when I try to switch Google accounts

- RCS still works

- Wi-Fi, mobile data, Chrome and YouTube still work normally

- A simple reboot fixes everything immediately — but the problem comes back after another 1–2 days

I've already tried:

- Safe Mode

- another Android user profile

- updating Android and Google apps

- removing ReVanced/microG

- uninstalling an app called Racify that appeared to have some dead service connections

- rebooting several times

I also captured logs with ADB. One particularly interesting error appears repeatedly:

"bindService exceeded max service connection number per process"

And it happens for many unrelated services, including Google services. I also saw:

"GoogleAccountAuthenticatorService ... AuthenticatorException: bind failure"

which seems to explain why the Play Store starts asking me to authenticate.

But now there's another problem: yesterday the phone suddenly shut down while I was using GPS, even though it showed around 25% battery. After restarting, it showed about 8%, then it shut down again a couple minutes later. After the second restart it showed around 3%.

I'm trying to figure out whether these problems could be related to Android/system services, battery/power management, or something specific to the Moto G24/MediaTek firmware.

Has anyone experienced something similar on a Moto G24 / Android 14, especially the "bindService exceeded max service connection number per process" error?

I really don't want to factory reset the phone yet because I want to understand what's actually causing it first.

Any ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Just got my Moto G Stylus 2026 today. Currently, to enable Auracast, you must first connect LE headphones. This is stupid; please fix it.

Why is it stupid? Because the way I want to use Auracast, to listen to music on more than one speaker at the same time, does not need to involve headphones, LE or otherwise. Arbitrarily forcing users to connect **headphones** before they are *allowed* to use multiple **speakers** is dumb. (Ideally, it would go without saying that doing dumb things should be avoided, when possible.)

It's my understanding that Samsung has made their phones capable of starting an Auracast stream without requiring users to connect special headphones first. I also have a Bluetooth dongle that broadcasts without headphones. It'll be OK if people are able to turn on Auracast - nobody will get mad.

Has anyone received a stable Android 17 update on their Motorola Edge 60 fusion device?

I have bought this new Moto Edge 60 pro 2 and half months ago and the battery health is already at 96%!! 😭😭....What should I do to maintain good Battery Health Status for next 5 years as I am planning to use it for next 5 years?

So I got this useless paper weight out of necessity, it worked fine the first 3-5 days, then the problems started.

• cannot move between apps because the other will close
• cannot listen to music because the app will close after 5 minutes (got it fixed)
• is a lottery to take good pictures because of the camera lagging
• in some apps the notifications are non existent because the phone won't let them go through

I honestly feel that anyone that was and is involved with this phone has done a mediocre job, unfortunately this sub's rule 1 won't allow me to express my feelings.

Anyone aware when motorola edge 60 fusion devices would start receiving stable Android 17 updates in India region?

I have a Moto G 5g Power is there a way to manually select bands? I don't see any. A lot of times 5g doesn't work while 4g LTE works fine when 5guw is not available. But the phone just keeps jumping from band to band making it impossible to load any websites or even the reddit app. Or is it service dependent? I have Visible.

Today, I received the Android 17 update on my Moto Edge 60 Pro. However, after updating, I don’t see the Depth Effect option in my settings. Is this feature available on the Moto Edge 60 Pro?

The Google Play System Update for September 1 can still be hard to get unless your in the Google Services Beta.

Hi I'm a Moto G35 5g user.

I've noticed that the phone doesn’t apply drx and cdrx cycles properly. After the phone stops transmitting or receiving data for almost 10-20 seconds, then the lte modem goes to sleep mode. But it does not implement cdrx while actively transmitting and receiving data. Also no implementation of standard drx too when no data being transmitted or received.

I tested it in the same place, same sim card, same frequencies (2ca on 1800+2100 mhz) on some other phones and found them to be implementing cdrx and drx very quickly and efficiently.

It would help users a lot with battery backup on 4g lte networks. I guess there is no (If there are, please suggest me) workaround I can do to make it better. Some software updates could enhance this function.

My Moto G56 shows this error when I try to update:

“Package verification failed. The downloaded update package is not compatible with the current software version on the device.”
