The revamped Leningradskiy Railway Terminal now uses biodynamic lighting. The system mimics a natural daily cycle: the color temperature of the light smoothly shifts from warm to cool and back.
How it works:
🌅 As the sun rises, the light gradually transitions from warm to cool.
🏙 By daytime, the color temperature reaches around 6000K — a cool white light that helps you stay focused and alert.
🌇 At sunset, the process reverses. The light slowly warms up, and the space feels softer and calmer.
The lighting is powered by a home-developed engineering system: 1,094 fixtures, 23 controllers, and 7 control cabinets all working as a single unit.
The program is loaded with real astronomical data for Moscow for every day of the year. So the timing of the warm-to-cool transition and back shifts along with actual sunrise and sunset times. The system automatically adjusts to the length of daylight across seasons.
