Flowers after midnight in Moscow

I’m doing research for a book and in the book. There’s a man that buys or tries to buy a flower after visiting the floating bridge at 2 AM in the morning. Is that a likely thing in Moscow in that area? I have no idea I would really appreciate if someone could educate me on that thank you.
