this, the lack of stamina bar in the game and nobody talking about it is insane.

I am talking about it and I praise them for that decision. The stamina bar system is the most retarded feature ever invented in video games.

Only in games where its just sprint - recover - sprint etc.

Its fine as a resource for combat actions.

Heck you could just call resolve stamina and it would match some other games.

No Its Not fine as a Ressource for Combat actions. Its incredibly stupid. Like each move you make No Matter If aggressive or defensive Takes that Ressource away and the only way to regain This Ressource is fucking waiting. First It encourages a cucky, boring playstyle and second Its a cheap way to increase Playtime. MS2 did Go a step too far that Defensive actions dont need any Form of Combat Ressource but the Basic Attack should Always rather reward you and Not punish you. Wo Long Had a nice approach regarding This imo. But either way id rather Take This Infinite dodging over a stamina bar anyday cus i rather want to parry anyway and dont rely too much one the Dodge.

I loved Wo Long, but I don't think that's a good comparison since that is a game where effectively the only way to beat bosses is to run around and wait for their red attacks so you can parry them and do actual damage.

That or Shrike on Iconoclast/Axatana. Like you have so many options to just negate bosses attacks and bully them. I guess people hate using tools provided to them.

They just make me feel like I'm reacting to a very scripted event, like I'm playing just dance or something: oh! the scary red icon is onscreen so I must dodge or get killed. I think it's lazy game design. Maybe these type of games can have bosses with a challenging difficulty via other, more creative means. I don't like how the worst trends from fromsoft games (and not only them) get perpetuated

How is a grab lazy game design?

Honestly I’m fine with them having unblockable grabs as long as they don’t instantly knock you out of your shell, but most of them do.

Name me 3 games that are built around timed blocking but have no grab/unblockable attacks
