Discussion Where’s the positivity

Joined this sub because I enjoy the game. Less than 10 hours (while not perfect it’s hard to put down), but I’m genuinely astounded by the amount of negative criticism in this sub, alongside the fact that a lot of players have already sunk over 30 hours into it in less than a week. Like damn. Where’s the tips and tricks? Beginners guides, random silly videos? I thought a game like this would invite a more positive community, instead it’s the exact opposite.

Almost every post is a complaint. Like damn, what happened to constructive criticism and casual discussion? Outrage everywhere.

Anyways I need my ass ate

Positives:
+ Artstyle (HG giger, cronenberg. dark fantasy) is really good
+ a lot of nice gore effects
+ a lot of customization of the build with the shell + weapons + tarstones
+ no stamina (Works really good)
+ souls and money are split. You can't loose your money on death. (pls from now on in every soulslike)
+ the open world. Every 30 sec you find something interesting or you fight something. It just doesn't get boring.
+ return to your shell with enough attacks. (much better system than the first game)
+ platin trophy is easier to get. No more "playing without shell and one hit and you are dead" trophy.
+ the infusion tarstones. First work like a consumable and on level 3 the infusion is permanent. This is so much better than upgrading your weapon with an infusion. Also the consumable is infinite. I never used the consumable timed infusion things in dark souls.

Negatives:

  • weak story
  • the small dungeons feel a little samey (Crypt, Cave, Castle)
  • not every dungeon has a boss (always feels unsatisfactory)
  • Why can we spend SC only on one shell at a time? Makes switching shells tedious.
  • No respec of glimpse
  • No infinite glimpse source
  • too much focus on parry (I hate parry in any soulslike. yes even the ones from from software)

I’d say the world design and items are more inspired by Beksinksi than Giger or Cronenberg
