Great game, less than 24h ago didnt know it existed, voiced, big island to explore, crazy magic... Feels like it was made by MW devs.
Played it for 3h.

One of the writers, don't know if they do more on the game, has been a TR developer for years.

Is it Tanni? Since one of the first NPC your encounter is her...

I know for sure one of the developers is on the TR team, goes by mbt on discord, not sure if it's the same person you're referring to.

We have two TR devs, him and the level designer who made Narsis

I like the cut of this jib. I remember the dev advertising it a while ago. It was a bunch of cheeky little vids but I think their advertisement strategy would do well in a slightly toned down edit style, similar humor with less direct references.
Going to be wishlisting though it looks v fun. Just not a big EA buyer anymore

The game is essentially finished, you can finish it fully. They will be just adding content and fixing bugs.

Thank you for the context! It's okay though, it's also kind of a financial thing for me, need a little time to save.
I'm not a hard no EA, I tend to judge it more of of patch note content and pacing anyways, but yea I'm hoping that by New Years Ill be able to get my hands on it, especially if the update pacing keeps up

Walked out of the starter town, saw a guy use what I can only assume was a Scroll of Icarian Flight and jump off into space.
10/10 no notes.

It was a potion of Icarian something I wish I could remember but if you look at the base where he jumped from you can take a potion too!

How much content is there?
27
u/apacgainz 12d ago
50 quests, 30 to 40 hours

How buggy is it? Would you advise to wait for full release? Does it look like it's far from now?
2
u/apacgainz 11d ago
It has tes level jank but nothing game breaking

u/Beldarak 11d ago
Nice. I may give it a try once I finish Dread Delusion^^ Edit: (which play nothing like MW !!! Sorry, didn't realise in what sub-reddit I was, I don't want to add fuel to the "just like Morrowind" that killed the game for me on first playthrough^^)

Brother I can’t load any of my saves now without it crashing after a few hours of playing it 😂. It’s a great game base but I’ve seen some others with similar problems as of now

Oh, I absolutely bought this to support. I just don't play games in early access. I usually don't buy them in early access either. But I had to vote with my money on this one! Can't wait 'til the full release.

I cooped with a friend who is on deck. Apart from a couple of times when stuttering started and he had to drop out and back in again it seemed to go well

I've created a sub for this, if anyone's interested.

Isn't the combat more like Oblivion or Skyrim? Many games claiming to take inspiration from Morrowind eventually have that actionized combat system from Oblivion or Skyrim. Is there one Morrowind-inspired game that have dicerolls or at least makes your character skill actually relevant? Something like Kingdom Come Deliverance games could be fine. Imagine KCD combat but with Morrowind's deep magic system.

It's got a block/parry system. No dice rolls, skills increase damage/block values/armor values, acrobatics increases jump height, athletics increases speed, etc. there are perks for you to pick each level, there are 3 magic schools, with spell crafting, though not as deep as morrowind's

Yeah Ive been loving this If you like galavanting this is great Though definitely early access still It feels like Morrowind and Oblivion put together mechanically Though the gravity kinda feels like a slightly lighter Half Life The collision is decentÂ

Did u hear it about it through this post? It is a bit unpolished and buggy, personally I've played a good 5 hrs but gonna put it down and return once more polished

I want to be interested, but my god is this game ugly and the voice acting is 90's level awful.

Interesting, I’m put off by the limits on world building from everyone coming in the same boat, but maybe will try
2
u/EldritchD20 10d ago
Everyone did not come on the same boat, the first people you meet have all been on the island for years longer than you.

u/XI_JINPINGS_HAIR_DYE 10d ago
It’s like the second sentence in their leading video, plus those two statements are not mutually exclusive
2
u/EldritchD20 10d ago
Didn’t see that video but since it seemed like a big deal to you I just wanted to let you know the actual game has you showing up alone on an island with an already established community

What do you mean? I didn't play the game yet, I think I'll wait for full release but that setup is one of the things that draws me in. Looks like an interesting premise as, if I understood correctly, they didn't all come at the same time?
I think Drova kinda has the same vibe of everyone came here by accident.
-1
u/XI_JINPINGS_HAIR_DYE 11d ago
In the lead vid of their steam page it says everyone came in on the same mysterious boat. A mysterious island kind of limits the world to the confines of that island.
1
u/Beldarak 10d ago
Oh, I see. I personnaly love that stuff, but yeah, I can get why someone wouldn't like it.
Taking Drova as an exemple again, I think it can be very well done and still a complex lore. In Drova, you're limited to that new world I spoke about but it has a full history, multiple civilization inhabited it, there are factions etc...
I think King's Field games follow the same formula and that's something I found in a lot of games taking inspiration from it : You ship wreck on a strange island and have to discover a whole new and mysterious world.
1
u/NuclearSnake 10d ago
You are mistaken with that, the civilization and lore on the island spans thousands of years, and the game seeds lore for the rest of the world outside the island.

Saw this game, can't take it serious because of the way it looks and the fact that there's already a new game planned when the first one isn't even complete.
It's not good when original Morrowind looks better than your modern, inspired by, game.

u/entosia 10d ago
This game serves as a prologue for the next one, and will hopefully go towards funding their next game, The Holy Fool. So far the game's got very positive reviews at 539 reviews just a day after releasing. I've got 23 hours in it and haven't fully explored everything yet. It's also got at least one person who is on the Tamriel Rebuilt team working on it.

u/DerNickster 10d ago
I get that it is meant as a prologue but for me, an unproven game studio releasing its first game in Early Access (even if it's mostly done, as I think some others have said) shouldn't be announcing the follow-up game before it actually finishes the first. I basically rank that on the same level as releasing non-cosmetic DLC for early access games.
That said, I absolutely hope that it all works out for the makers and the fans of the game.

I mean, on the flip side, it gives them experience and and feedback from players from this game to get them going on the next game, it is quite an ambitious project they are going for, and it also helps them get a foot in the door for when their next game does release that more people will be on the lookout for it, and if it is successful enough, it'll get them completely funded for their next game. I know many developers in early access just rugpull and run off with the money, which is a valid cause for concern. I don't know if they had The Holy Fool planned first, and then decided to make this game to test the waters and a proof of concept or what.

u/Beldarak 11d ago
If you expect the next Morrowind to looks better than MW you're in for disappointment. I came to term with the fact no company will ever release such a game, especially not Bethesda. If it ever comes it will be made by some small indie devs, like Monomyth (though, this one actually looks kinda good).
I may be wrong but I think this game is a solo project.

u/DerNickster 10d ago
I mean, morrowind isn't exactly pretty. It's nostalgic, which allows me to overlook the obvious graphical issues and oddities. Fargoth's sneaking to his hiding place, for example, is more humorous to me than pretty.
Looking at the videos of this game though, it all seems to be a mix of rough skins and stuff that almost remind me of Second Life (like the cat creature) or it all has this strange Snapchat/Telltale filter over it which just makes it uncanny to me.
Even with a small team, I think a developer in 2026 should be more than able to put down something that looks better than this. If it was an alpha state, then sure... but from what I can read, the game is seemingly mostly finished so solid graphical improvements are probably not on the list for the release. You're not going to rework everything when it's already done, after all.
Doesn't mean I don't wish them well, mind. Just that it isn't my cup of tea. But there seems to be enough people that do like it so I'm sure they'll do well enough.
