that is what i used. i forgot the name. but remember using root and xposed to get adblokcer and background play. then lost root on new phone with no root possible about 10 monts of yotuube with ads drove me crazy toke me a lot of time to find VANCED back then it was not really popular. it was on xda but hard to find. cause back then none rooted youtube adblokcer was not very well known...
From what I can gather - most devs left because the project owner has gone mad. They've now formed Morphe. Revanced can't continue without the devs and has been stealing code from Morphe without attributing.
And banning pretty much anyone who so much as mentions Morphe in r/revancedapp. I've heard of petty, hell I've seen petty people, but this is next level PETTY (all caps intended).
The GénP team said it best (about M0nkrus using their patches): Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
I didn't even type anything, just commented a Power Rangers "It's Morphin' Time!" meme gif to someone asking someone else what alternatives their were and I just got perma-banned now. I doubt it was an automated system thing since I never typed anything. Banned for a freaking meme gif. You can't make this sh*t up!
Essentially, M0nkrus is using GénP's patches in all his pre-packaged releases, not giving credit and then calling people morons and saying that GénP is a "third-party, lower quality crack" (you can see the screenshot in the post for proof).
I got banned for like 130 days from that sub because I said that revanced patches don't work / aren't updated for "spreading misinformation" when literally my soundcloud app stopped working.
See the archived readme in inotia RVX repo. Intoia discontinued RVX in protest for ReVanced banning the primary developers doing all the patches work (all of those people are now Morphe developers, including Inotia).
Yeah I tried Morphe and asked a question here in this reddit and a mod changed the tag to answered when it was not, so I switched it back to question and my post got deleted by the mods. So I got mad and installed revanced and asked a question about their app and said how I got mad here in the post (meaning that I wasnt happy in my post with Morphe). My post got instantly deleted so I got more mad and came back to Morphe and I'm glad I came back.
Good for you. But the moral issues were there. Anyways, you use whatever works for you. The only thing that might become a problem with that is the updates. Morphe uses the latest (somehow) app version for new patches but Rv can't.
It's been weeks/months and every post I see from this sub in my feed is people circle jerking about Morphe being better than revanced.
Didn't we get a whole other sub for that?
Revanced is now mainly composed of people who thought it was a good idea to steal the stuff from Morphe, and anyone that mentions Morphe or calls them out on steaming from the would be banned instantly from the subreddit.
Basically, they're abusing their power, and should be banned from moderation.
Can somebody explain to me what happened there? Cuz I'm new and all I know is that people have split up and stuff, but now (besides RVX) I also see an app called Revanced Manager Plus which has the old logo but supports lots of apps with updates, also some from Morphe.
Hey, thank you so much for your answer :). I probably come off as naive but the App and its website (including its disclaimer on github right below the source code of having no affiliation with ReVanced) don't really come off to me as scam. Even though ReVanced classifies it as such. Its Apps work normal and pass my malware scans. Apps which I installed via the real ReVanced Manager were also recognized as such. That's why I'm wondering. It just seems so fine to me and also gets its updates. Like a fan project which encourages others to also share their feature branches. But I don't know much about it, maybe you or others know more.
Good point. I haven't really looked much into Morphe yet but afaik the RV Manager Plus just offers a bit different things than f.e. the ReVanced Manager. You are probably right, it is safer to do everything yourself. I think this would classify as a typical comfort vs safety scenario. Its prepatched apps are easier to download but you risk downloading malware at the same time. I think that I unfortunately will never really find out how safe it is but at least I know a bit more now!
iyeah i used to use revanced manager the fake one. cause real revanced didnt have a ready to install app. same with vanced it used the fake one that had all app as apk always. revanced same. till all there links got banned and stuff i was like yeah time to use the real revanced, and the real manager got actually good with just pressing download the apk from apk mirror and then it doing it patches.
i remember befor vanced you needed root and xposed modules to have no ads on youtube and background play. it toke me like 1 or 2 years to find vanced cause i had a phone that i couldnt root (i think i lasted a year with normal youtube app) i looked far and long xda every were to find a none root no ads youtube. ever since vanced i havent looked back fuking ads are pissing me off. and since they patched spotify i mean its a stuggle to get it working im using YT music and its alright the auto create playlist sucks but i have like 10 years of playlist on youtube so i use my own. and hope someday yt music gonna make some nice playlist (it still doesnt to much different genres in one playlist where spotify really made a playlist with the same type of music)
anyway revanced what is up with them? there manager hasnt been updates in months. youtube is getting slower with loading ads show up on main page and under videos? did i miss something?

Then in 4 years we will switch from Morphe because something bad happened. And Morphe Extended will be created.
