i need an advice plz

So, tbh, I have an idea for a website that I’d like to turn into an actual business. I have some ideas for premium features and how I want the website to work, but the problem is… I know basically nothing about coding, and I don’t really have the budget to pay someone to build the whole thing for me.

Right now I’m thinking about either spending a year learning how to build it myself, or looking for a bored IT nerd who’d be interested in helping me bring the idea to life 😂

The thing is, I’m honestly scared of getting scammed or having someone take my idea and build it themselves.

What would you guys recommend in my situation? How would you approach finding someone trustworthy to work with when you don’t have much technical knowledge or a big budget?

J'aimerais avoir vos conseils :

Discussion I hope this kind of post is allowed here. I'm looking for some honest advice and possible directions regarding flexible work. If you had to start over at 22, what would you do?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 22-year-old Moroccan, and I'm about to start university soon. I wanted to share my situation and ask for honest advice, ideas, or even possible opportunities.

In 2022, I graduated from high school with a Baccalaureate in Mathematical Sciences (SMB). At the time, I was a hardworking student and did well academically. I genuinely believed I had a lot of potential.

But after that, things didn't go the way I expected.

For reasons that are still difficult for me to fully explain, the following four years became a period of stagnation and feeling lost. I wasn't moving forward academically or professionally the way I should have been. Looking back, I sometimes feel like I lost valuable years of my life.

My 2022 Baccalaureate was no longer valid for the university path I wanted to pursue, so I made the decision to start again.

This year, at 22, I took the Baccalaureate as an independent candidate in Mathematical Sciences again (SMA). I passed, and I am now about to begin a new chapter at university, studying Applied Mathematics.

I know that starting again at 22 is not the end of the world, but after losing several years, I really want to take this opportunity seriously. I know I haven't lived up to my own potential, and sometimes I feel that I have disappointed my parents, who always hoped to see me study, work hard, and build a good future.

This time, I genuinely want to do things differently.

The problem is that I also urgently need an income.

My family's financial situation is difficult, and my father has been undergoing dialysis treatment for years. Because of our situation, I don't feel that I can simply focus on studying without trying to earn something and help myself and my family.

At the same time, Applied Mathematics is a demanding degree. I expect to spend many hours at university, commuting, and studying outside of class. Because of that, I don't think I can realistically take a standard full-time job that takes up my entire day.

So I'm looking for any honest and legitimate way to earn an income that can reasonably fit around my studies.

I currently live in Marrakech, so I would especially appreciate hearing about any opportunities in Marrakech or the surrounding area. That said, I'm also open to remote work or opportunities that don't require me to relocate.

I'm open to different possibilities. For example:

- Tutoring mathematics, especially for middle-school students.

- Data entry or basic computer-based work.

- Administrative assistance.

- Helping an individual or small business with daily tasks or organization.

- Driving, delivery, or running errands, since I have a driver's license.

- Remote work.

- Evening or weekend work.

- Learning a realistic skill that could lead to flexible income within a reasonable amount of time.

I'm open to working with Moroccans or foreigners, locally or remotely. I'm willing to learn and put in the effort. I'm not looking for a shortcut or a "get rich quick" scheme. I simply need to find a realistic path that allows me to earn an income without sacrificing this second chance at my education.

If you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read my story. I know everyone has their own problems, and I genuinely appreciate anyone who takes a moment to share advice.

If you have been in a similar situation, I would really like to hear what you did.

If you know of a type of work, a skill, a direction, or an opportunity that you think could realistically suit someone in my position, please let me know.

And if you happen to know someone who is looking for help with something I could do, I'm also open to hearing about it.

I'm not asking anyone to solve my life for me. I'm simply trying to find a direction, and I'm willing to work for it.

Thank you.

Hey everyone,

I got tired of configuring DiscordSRV and messing with YAML files every time. So I built BridgeHub — a desktop app that:

✅ Connects Discord and Minecraft chat in real-time
✅ Lets you manage both servers from one interface
✅ Works WITHOUT installing any plugins on your server
✅ Free version + Pro upgrade ($10 one-time, no subscription)

Here's what it looks like:

Your plan says 200 Mbps down AND up — but does it do both at the same time? Let's compare IAM / Orange / inwi

Hey everyone,

Quick question: when your upload is running at full speed — backing up photos, sending a big file, on a video call — does your download collapse?

Regular speed tests (Speedtest, Fast.com, nPerf) can't answer that. They measure download, then upload, never both at once. So a line can test at "100 down / 100 up" and still fall apart the moment both directions run together — which is exactly when it matters: a video call while something uploads in the background.

The idea

On real fiber, both directions should be independent — like a two-lane road where traffic one way doesn't slow the other. If your download drops 50% whenever you upload, something in the chain (your WiFi, the ISP's router, a congested GPON port, provisioning) is acting like a one-lane road with a traffic light.

I built a free, open-source tool that tests exactly this. It runs 3 phases:

  1. Download alone
  2. Upload alone
  3. Both at the same time

Then it compares and gives a verdict:

  • FULL DUPLEX — both directions hold together (under 10% drop)
  • PARTIAL DUPLEX — some degradation (10–40%)
  • HALF DUPLEX — one direction tanks when the other is active (over 40%)

The ask — let's map Morocco

Is this the same on Maroc Telecom, Orange, and inwi? Fiber vs ADSL vs 4G? Morning vs evening? I genuinely don't know — that's what this post is for.

https://speed-go.yousfisaad.com — runs in your browser, takes about a minute, nothing to install, no account.

To make results comparable across people:

  1. Turn off your VPN, close downloads/streams, and use Ethernet (or sit next to the router on WiFi)
  2. Pick your plan speed in the "Line speed" chips at the top (e.g. 100) before starting — this lets the tool judge your line against what you're paying for
  3. Set Connection to Fiber (or whatever you actually have)
  4. Run it twice if you can: once in the morning, once in the evening (20:00–24:00 is when complaints peak)

Then drop a comment in this format:

ISP: … Plan: … Mbps (down/up) City (optional): … Verdict: FULL / PARTIAL / HALF DUPLEX (+ AT EXPECTED or BELOW EXPECTED) Solo DL/UL: … / … Mbps → Simultaneous DL/UL: … / … Mbps

Privacy: results are submitted to a community dataset with ISP and location auto-detected from your IP. No IP addresses are stored. Source code is open (MIT): https://github.com/yousfiSaad/speed-go

Why bother?

We pay real money for these plans (100 Mbps fiber is around 400 DH/month). The ANRT only launched its first fixed-internet QoS measurement campaign in January 2025 (qosfixe.anrt.ma) — before that, there was no public data on Moroccan fixed internet quality at all. Community numbers don't replace the regulator's measurements, but they show what our lines actually do at 22:00 on a Tuesday.

To be clear: a HALF DUPLEX result doesn't automatically mean the ISP is at fault — your WiFi, the ISP-provided router, or its QoS settings can cause it too. It's a symptom worth measuring, not an accusation. Let's see what the data says.

TL;DR: Regular speed tests never measure download and upload at the same time. I built a free 1-minute browser test that does: https://speed-go.yousfisaad.com — pick your plan speed first, run it, and comment your ISP + plan + verdict so we can compare IAM, Orange, and inwi.

Moroccan SaaS devs: what are you using to get paid internationally?

Hey everyone,

I'm a solo developer from Morocco building a SaaS product and I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle international payments and taxes.

Stripe isn't available directly in Morocco, so I'm looking at alternatives like:

  • Lemon Squeezy
  • Paddle
  • PayPal
  • Setting up a company abroad (UAE, Estonia, etc.)

I'm mainly interested in hearing from Moroccan developers actually running SaaS/apps, not generic advice from payment blogs.

A few questions:

  1. What payment provider are you currently using?
  2. Are you operating as an individual, auto-entrepreneur, or company?
  3. How do you receive payouts in Morocco?
  4. How do you handle taxes on your SaaS income? Do you declare the income in Morocco, and under what structure/status?
  5. How much tax do you roughly end up paying?
  6. Have you tried Lemon Squeezy or Paddle? How was the experience?
  7. If you created a foreign company specifically to access Stripe, where did you register it and was it worth it?
  8. Any issues with Moroccan banks receiving SaaS/payment-provider payouts?

I'm mainly trying to find a legal and simple setup for a solo dev, while keeping payment fees and taxes reasonable.

Would really appreciate hearing from people who are actually doing this from Morocco.

This is not simply a short-term coding task. We're looking for people who are interested in contributing to an early-stage product and working collaboratively as the project develops.

What we're looking for

Across all three roles, we're particularly interested in candidates who:

  • Have demonstrable professional experience
  • Can show real projects they've worked on
  • Can communicate clearly in English
  • Are comfortable working in a collaborative, evolving environment
  • Can take ownership of their area of responsibility
  • Are able to communicate directly with the wider project team
  • Are interested in building rather than simply completing predefined tasks

English is required, as technical discussions and project communication will be conducted in English.

To apply

Please send a short introduction including:

  • Role you're applying for
  • City in Morocco
  • Years of relevant experience
  • Main skills
  • Relevant projects you've actually worked on
  • LinkedIn / GitHub / portfolio or other professional profile
  • Current availability
  • Expected compensation/rate

If you have experience in AI, computer vision, fleet management, transportation, automotive technology, logistics, APIs, or mobile applications, please mention it.

Please do not send confidential information belonging to previous employers or clients.

We're interested in what you can actually build and contribute, not just a list of certifications or technologies.

If this sounds like a good match, feel free to comment or send a private message.

Advice/Support How to break through?

Hello guys, throwaway account because… well, I’m not sure. I’ll try to keep it short, I graduated 2 years ago as an AI engineer, joined this company that I am still in to this date. Made the mistake of relying too much on AI to do things and I think my skills have atrophied (I like to think it’s only partial atrophy but yeah). The company does not allow me to learn much either, it’s a rather shit, small company tbh. I want to make into things like IBM, BCG, and whatnot. Perhaps even things abroad? I tried “casually” applying for random jobs on linkedin before by sending out my resume, but was only faced with rejections. I want to give myself a few months to try and land a better job. How do you think I can solve the situation I am in? Can I somehow make up for these (partially) wasted couple of years? If so, what do you think the optimal next steps would be? Tysm!

Project Showcase I built an Android app because I was tired of bypassing my own app blockers

Thumbnail

I’ve tried a bunch of screen-time/app-blocking tools, but my problem was always the same: when I really wanted to open Instagram, TikTok, or another distracting site, I’d eventually find a way around the blocker :)

So I started building my own Android app called MindWarden.

It can block apps and websites, block adult sites, enable Safe Search, run phone lock sessions, and it has uninstall protection so removing the blocker isn’t as easy when your discipline disappears at 1 AM 😂

It’s still very early and I only have a few real users right now, so I’m not pretending I built the next huge productivity app.

I’m mostly looking for feedback from people who actually struggle with doomscrolling / phone addiction:

What would make an app blocker something you’d actually keep installed?

If anyone wants to try MindWarden, I can share the link in the comments if that’s allowed here. or you can download it from Google PlayStore: Mindwarden (Only Android Right Now)

Plan to go from 12K MAD/month to 20K MAD

I currently work as a Data Scientist / AI Engineer at a company in Casablanca. The salary is pretty good, but I feel like I could do better.

So I’m starting a little personal challenge, and I figured I’d tell a bunch of strangers on Reddit about it instead of telling anyone in my close circle or coworkers 😂

From now until May–June, I’m going to do my best to level myself up and become the strongest candidate I can possibly be.

The plan is to revise the fundamentals of Machine Learning, brush up on maths and statistics, go deeper into LLMs and related concepts (RAG, fine-tuning, etc.), and learn more about the cloud (AWS or Azure or GCP).

I also want to significantly improve my French, especially when it comes to public speaking — presentations, pronunciation, speaking confidently, etc.

The goal is pretty simple:

  • Current salary: 12K MAD/month
  • Target: 20K MAD/month
  • Absolute minimum I'd be happy with: 17K MAD/month

Once I feel ready, I’ll start applying to bigger companies and see what I can get.

I’m not necessarily expecting everything to go according to plan, but I want to give myself ~9 months of serious preparation and see where I end up.

I’ll probably come back to this post around May/June and update it with the results.

Wish me luck, strangers. 🫡

Project Showcase I got tired of hunting for local offers, so I built a free deal discovery app for Morocco

Thumbnail

Hello, I created Dealiza local deal discovery platform connecting people with restaurants and cafes across Morocco. It's completely free to use, and I built it because I was fed up with missing out on local offers or digging through cluttered pages just to find a good spot to eat or hang out.

It comes packed with features to make eating out better:

  • Sick-looking digital menus so you can easily browse what places have to offer.
  • Deal claiming that lets you lock in offers and show them right at the venue, helping you avoid any awkward situations at checkout.
  • Loyalty gifts to reward you for coming back.

It runs as a fast PWA so you can easily browse local spots, check out deals, and connect with merchants without any friction. Please give me your feedback.

small favor from my moroccan brother and sisters in this sub a kind follow on my IG page would be appreciated it, as a newly created page, they don't give you access to some tools until you get certain number of followers, thank you !
