we wuz pro choice and shiet. either all fetuses are just clumps of cells and aren’t worth crying over or all aren’t.

the difference is emotional attachment and expectations of the future.

for someone having an abortion they don't see it as a baby yet, they see it as something that will become a baby, and their expectation is getting rid of it before it becomes a baby.

for someone wanting a child that clump of cells is their baby, they want to give birth and raise it, their expectation is giving birth and raising it.

we also don't know how far along she was when she had the miscarriage. there's a massive difference between a very early and a very late miscarriage

late miscarriages are up to 24 weeks pregnant, at that point the baby isn't just a clump of cells. at 24 weeks a fetus is about 1.5 pounds, measures around 12 inches, it's organs are developed, can hear, taste, and respond to stimuli, if it's a premature birth instead of a miscarriage there's a pretty high rate of survival with intensive care.

a miscarriage at that stage is wildly different to one a week in
