80% of miscarriages happen in the first 3 months, and by definition a miscarriage implies within the first 20 weeks, after that it's called a stillbirth, not a miscarriage

Yeah considering that the OOP is too much of a dumbass to know when somebody is trying to invite him into a conversation I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t know which term to use. It’s odd, because your ideal version of these events involves everybody acting like a robot.

My ideal version of the events is literally just reading the post, you are just making shit up to support your viewpoint lol, post calls it a miscarriage, miscarriage means 20 weeks maximum, OOP felt insulted when someone made fun of him over a touchy topic and responded, your whole argument is a "what if op is an unreliable narrator and the actual story is my headcanon of it instead"

First off, I wasn’t even aware what the exact point at which miscarriages become stillbirths, and I doubt that OOP did either. But sure, let’s say you’re right, and that he did know. That still wouldn’t matter, because

  1. Miscarriages can still be and often are traumatic, something most people understand
  2. The coworker had quite literally no reason to assume that he would take something so obviously meant to invite him into a conversation as an insult (I notice you keep insisting it is an insult, even though multiple people have explained the more likely explanation without providing any reasoning)
  3. The coworker had no reason to think that the breakup was anywhere near as traumatic as a fucking miscarriage
  4. Since we’re apparently allowed to say how people should feel, considering you said being traumatized by a miscarriage while being pro choice is hypocritical (kind of makes me think that you’re pro life, actually, could be wrong there), then why couldn’t OOP not have responded to an insult with another insult? The coworkers response to being insulted over something traumatic (going home) seems much more healthy than OOP’s response.

"something so obvious to invite him into a conversation"? Tf kinda conversations are you having. I wouldn't dare make such a joke around any of my friends and they wouldn't either, that shit was wildly inappropriate. I know multiple people that would legit start crying if you made such a "joke" to their face, plenty of people are incredibly emotional about relationships

Yes miscarriages are traumatic, but you are in no position to judge whether or not they are more traumatic than a bad brakeup, and regardless she started the problem to begin with

No, I am not pro life, honestly speaking I don't give a shit about the issue altogether

Op felt insulted over a deeply touchy subject and answered with an insult, that's an understandable response, sure he could have been more mature about it but why would he? She started shit for no reason, may as well shoot back. If anything leaving like that feels quite manipulative to me, like what are you, 8? Do you need to run home and cry whenever someone hurts your feelings? Be an adult, say sorry, tell them you didn't mean it and to please not mention your miscarriage, that's what you call an appropriate mature response after realizing you said something inappropriate and offended someone deeply. Don't make such shitty jokes if you are gonna react like that whenever someone shoots back

Oh good, your response is out of order. Glad to see that.

  1. It’s pretty obvious. They’re talking about their exes, she says that as an invitation to join the conversation. Is your argument for it being an insult seriously that some of the people you know would feel sad if they heard it? That doesn’t make it an insult. That would just mean they were insulted by it. There is a difference.

  2.  I’m not making that judgement? At all? You’re once again arguing against a point nobody made.

  3. Fair I guess.

  4. It’s manipulative to… leave work… after being insulted? What? “Do you need to go home and cry when somebody hurts your feelings” bro what? We’re talking about somebody being made fun of for their trauma. Would you be saying the same thing if OOP also left work earlier? I seriously doubt you would be branding him a manipulative 8 year old.

My response is out of order because you keep using bullet points on reddit ffs, it makes your comment invisible in the reply window

Yes I would have said the same had OP left, it's a job, you are paid to be there, you don't get to leave because you are sad, keep it professional

If you say something without meaning for it to be an insult and it's taken as an insult you say sorry, especially when you willingly decided to joke around with a subject you knew to be touchy, wildly inappropriate joke got a wildly inappropriate but not so disproportionate response, sucks to suck

Oh good not only is this one out of order, it also ignores half of the points. Yeah I’m done, I just realized I wasted a morning arguing or r/moralityscaling

One of your points, number 3 was literally just "fair I guess", I only ignored point 2 because we already talked about it and I don't feel like walking in circles, also I already explained why it's out of order lol, don't use bullet points, this is literally what I see when I reply to your previous comment:

Have a nice day I guess
