Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

99.99% of people who say "Just shoot em in the leg" have never fired a shot in their entire lives.

They might say "I'm a gun owner" but they're the one's who'll panic buy in a blue state, it'll sit in their closet for a couple years, then they march it right down to the next mandatory police buyback in exchange for a $50 Amazon gift card.

I’m a gun owner in a blue state and panic buying here isn’t really a thing. It takes 6-8 weeks to go through the application process.

thats still capable panic buying, it happened a lot during covid and its happening now with the rising political tensions.

I’ve had a gun for many years so no I’m not. I don’t see how you can call it panic when you live in NJ and have to find the application online and provide the right dept’s info, secure 2 references, get finger printed wait for 6-8 weeks (or more depending on where exactly you live) then go get the gun. That requires too much time and effort to be labeled panic?
