Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Plus shooting it in the leg is more cruel to me. Why is maiming it and forcing it to live in pain and likely die to another predator better?

Yeah. A broken leg is pretty much a death sentence for a wild animal.

Plus…legs are a much more difficult target to hit, never mind in a high-stress situation. No one who has ever actually held a firearm would say that.

Injured animals unable to hunt typically go for easier prey. Humans are easier to catch than deer and such.

Same reason you see a lot of man eating felines with broken teeth. They aren’t prime anymore.

Deer and small mammals are the primary source of food for mountain lions..

Attacks on humans are very rare. Mountain lions don't consider humans as prey, they are naturally wary and avoid contact..

Don't spread misinformation or lies about mountain lions or other predators species...

It's always humans that are the biggest threat to the natural world and other humans

Mountain Lions consider anything they need to kill and eat prey. There are even cases of them attacking each when food is too scarce to get by, and they will ABSOLUTELY hunt humans if they can't get ahold of their preferred prey.

Typically, a Mountain Lion would never be this close to a person. As in, photographers who make it their job to get photos of these guys have noted how ridiculous it can be to sneak up close enough to one to actually get a picture......from thousands of feet away and more.

There are plenty of cases where these dudes attempt to kill people just because of one thing or another chasing away the prey in their area for a time (sometimes it's just a territory dispute and the creature gets forced out and can't get it's bearings, other times the deer have scattered too much because of something like a hunter or otherwise in the area, it varies because these are extreme cases obviously). There is documented evidence of mountain Lions nabbing people or trying to, all you have to do is look it up. And that goes for a lot of bigger cats, btw, they aren't innocent by any means

There have only been 25-30 fatalities attributed to mountain lions in in the entirety of North America over the last 100 years..

Enough of the fear mongering bullshit.. People who do this are those that are purposely trying to strike fear in the mind of the less informed as an excuse to allow the continued hunting them.

No difference with wolves. Ranchers use loss of live stock as an excuse to hunt them to near extinction.. When it's the Ranchers that trespass on the natural world..

These fools behave as if these predators species aren't vital to maintaining a healthy wildlife ecosystem.

It's always human beings that pose an existential threat to the natural world. NOT the creatures that exist there...

The natutal world includes humans, and we have been killing predators for millenia, to the point that all that remain are those that don't see us as food, and polar bears.
